I play all characters, except for Donkey Kong, Olimar and Yoshi.

well he's probably one of the most popular pokemon, and if they based the mascot on who was the most powerful then it'd probably be kyogre or something. pikachu has awful stats but he's cute and has a memorable design and a lot of people use him regardless.
on the topic of pokemon, the new evolution of the panda pokemon they revealed recently would be cool as hell in smash bros. i don't know about his movepool yet but surely they'd have enough moves to work with that aren't already in smash bros
I meant it in the way it deserves to be a mascot of a game, like Pikachu was of Yellow or Kyogre of Sapphire. If Suicune got one, Mewtwo deserves another as well (and Crystal would had been a neat game to be Mewtwo-themed, but oh well).
I don't have one main, but i like the cycle between Pikachu, Link and Captain Falcon.

ah i guess so, he is the "main" legendary of the first gen but those had the starters as mascots.

I've practiced with it so much I'm near flawless with that shiz.
More-so Lucas than Ness because it isn't as fast, but all the same.
I'm hoping that the new game will have the ability to associate certain characters and palettes with names. So when you choose a custom name and choose a "random character" then it will only choose from the characters and palettes you select. That way if you want to choose a random character but there's certain characters you absolutely hate, you don't have to worry about them being selected.

This isn't his in-game model. If you look at the other screenshots of Olimar you can see that him and his pikmin have quite a bit fewer polygons than the above picture. Look at his helmet for example, you can clearly see the corners in the polygonal mesh in the bottom picture, while in the top one, it's completely smooth.

I don't know any of the pro smashers, I just rooted for whichever character I hated less while staring in awe as I saw people in the pool that were 400x better than I am :v:
