as odd as this sounds, i prefer brawl over melee BECAUSE it's slower.
melee was a clusterfuck of 2 frame animations that experts can exploit to worlds end. not very fun for a moderately skilled player like me.

though i do give props to melee for taking smash bros 64 and really ironing the gameplay out.
..how would that work? all of snake's moves are explosives! If anything, naked snake's moves should revolve around knive based weaponry and guns, and more of his smashes should work based on CQC.
Guns won't happen, that's why Snake fought with explosives in the first place
Obviously the next new fighter is Bandanna Waddle Dee. It's genius.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind this at all. Bandanna Waddle Dee is a recurring character now, he's King Dedede's right hand man, his henchman #1.
Plus the Spear is pretty versatile in Return to Dreamland, especially since he could use it to fly by twirling it above his head like a propeller. That and that would bump Kirby characters up to 4, which is the implied maximum.

sadly, yeah..

I prefer the Bandanna Waddle Dee from Super Star Ultra.
[sp]his moveset will consist of walking slowly and he will be knocked out by almost any attack.[/sp]
Bandanna Dee is my most wanted character for SSB4. I would definitely main him. I'm not crazy enough to make an entire moveset, but these are what I think his special moves could be:
B-Spear Toss. Hold the B button to charge. The longer you charge, the more spears Bandanna Dee throws, maxing out at three.
Side B-Parasol Spin. Bandanna Dee takes out a parasol and launches forward. He can keep the parasol out by holding B. The parasol spins and does damage to anyone who walks into it.
Up B-Propeller. Bandanna Dee twirls the spear incredibly fast and uses it to fly around. Enemies that hit the spear are damaged.
Down B-Spear Strike. Bandanna Dee plummets downward with his spear. Any enemies underneath him will certainly regret it.
Final Smash-Megaton Punch. Bandanna Dee charges up his Megaton Punch from the Kirby Superstar minigame. The power of the Final Smash depends on how well you charge the punch, which is done the same way as it was in the minigame.
Anyway, he's an amazing option. His appearance as a playable character in RtDL certainly boosted his chances considerably. And I think he has a decent bit of popularity to back it up. However, Sakurai has always been hesitant about adding Kirby characters. That combined with the fact that he hasn't been involved with Kirby since Air Ride, and the fact that Waddle Dee was a special move in Brawl, puts a few points against him. It's really up in the air at this point, but I think he's more likely than not.

But you would not believe how disappointed I'll be if he doesn't make it.

Melee had 5 Mario Characters.
That said, Knuckle Joe would be an excellent playable character. The fighter ability is one of the best in the series, and he's already an assist trophy.
Melee had 5 Mario Characters.
6 if you count Yoshi.
6 if you count Yoshi.
Well by that logic brawl had 6, maybe even 8 if you count Donkey Kong Country. I guess they're all "Donkey Kong" characters considering that's the initial game they branch off from.
I really just mean characters with the mushroom icon. Which doesn't include Donkey, Diddy, Wario or Yoshi.

Well, you could split Kirby into Dreamland and non-Dreamland if you absolutely wanted to.

Donkey and Yoshi would be the only ones that would fit under Mario's category. Seeing as how Donkey was in the first-ever Mario game and Yoshi made his appearances in Mario games before also getting his own series.
Was Wario in any Mario games besides sport & party games?

Yeah, he was originally from Super Mario Land 2 for the Game Boy afaik.
Also, technically Donkey Kong is not from the first ever Mario game, but rather Mario is from the first ever Donkey Kong game. Also apparently the Donkey Kong from the original arcade games that Mario came from is actually Cranky Kong in the newer games.
I hope they focus on Wario Land-esq Wario in the next instalment instead of Warioware.

Try not to get your hopes up.
A realistically-proportioned Ganondorf in Skyward Sword's style and carrying dual swords would be nice. He'd be able to fit with the rest of the Zelda cast and gain some new elements.
I don't really see them using Skyward Sword's style in the next one.
They try to make the characters look as high quality as possible, so reverting to a style that's slightly less realistic would kinda ruin the point of them looking life-like.

The Wario Land series had a special place in my childhood memories. I was a bit heartbroken when Wario had almost nothing relating to his roots aside from his forward smash, his alternate costumes, his victory jingle, a brief chord that plays during Waluigi Pinball, and his forward throw (Wild Swing-Ding from Wario World).
Kinda lame how Wario didn't have anything in relation to shaking bags of money.

While the game was most-certainly in production, Wario Land 5 wasn't released until half a year after Brawl came out even after the delays.

The Ground Pound is essentially Wario's move ffs
along many other awesome as fuck wrestling moves, I want that drilling enemies head-first into the ground as a down-grab move.
Wario's forward smash was hitting with his shoulder right?

If you guys recall a fanmade title Super Smash Land. I got bored a long while ago and modded it so Wario was one of the characters to play as.
I focused primarily on Wario Land when making his moveset, not much was mimicked from his official Brawl moveset.
Neutral attack was the 1-2 punch that Wario has as his A combo. Forward attack was a rushdown shoulder charge that stops Wario when he hits an enemy. He can jump mid-charge just like the Wario Land days. He could crawl. Crouching attack was the poke that he does in Brawl. Up attack was very similar to the one in Brawl, but I wanted him to flash W's with his fingers like he does on the WL3 cover because why not. Neutral air was pretty much the same as Brawl's, but I used a sprite that mimicked the Balloon Wario form. Forward air was the Jet Helmet from the first Wario Land. Back air was pretty much the same as Brawl's. Up air I changed a few times, originally it was the Owl from Wario Land 3 but that made him way too easy to recover with, so I changed it to a single-hitting Bull Helmet attack, much like Mario's Up-B. Down air is his signature ground pound, with knockback resistance much like Yoshi's secondary jump, I made it cancellable in mid-air, but after that it can't be activated again until hitting the ground.
I think I may still have it around, I honestly can't recall if I carried it over to this machine when I got it.

They did so in Brawl. Remind me why having Mario with a reddish brown shirt and overalls with jeans textures is a good design choice? There are things that LOOK BETTER when not aiming from realbrown shit.

It just looks nice? Mario's overalls looking like real denim was really cool, undeniably. That style distinguishes SSB Mario from his own games.

I can see that you'd prefer a less realistic color palette but I though Mario looked really awesome like that
SSBB Mario always looks better when you're actually looking at him rather than when you're trying to remember what he looked like. He looks like crap in my head, but he looks great in pictures or in the game. I would prefer it if he didn't seem so serious and grumpy, though.
Yeah Mario seems like an asshole in Brawl lol
Never really realized that until now

SSB 64 Mario seems to beam ear-to-ear and generally looks and sounds like he's having a blast punching people in the face and stuff.
I miss the old Super Mario 64 Mario...
It's just his eyebrows. Change those and his whole manner seems different.
