Seriously, did you even use both to compare?
The two are different, Lucario not being a direct move clone, but anyone can tell Lucario is a direct replacement with his own quirks. I'd just like to see them be separated with more individuality if they both just happen to pop up.
To be honest, I actually did not know that Mewtwo was even in Melee until reading this thread when the new Smash Bros. game was announced.

Melee is definitely the best from a balance standpoint and a skill ceiling standpoint, so yeah, not playing it "because I have brawl" is a poor excuse, even tho Brawl is an awesome game as well.

I'm 90% sure that's Gerudo Valley. The design of the bridge is pretty much the same as it is in the 3DS OoT remake, and the carpenter's hut is supposed to be right there. [sp]Also, I'm pretty sure they showed off the Gerudo Valley stage for the 3DS version anyways.[/sp] In a related note, I guess we've finally figured out what caused the bridge to collapse during the 7 years that Link was gone, as I don't think it was ever explained in-game.
A demo would fix that problem right up, Mr. Sakurai.
Or at least a video

The reason for the carpenter being there was because of the bridge. The Gerudo destroyed it to cut off access to their lands. I THINK the bridge can be repaired at some point in the Adult Time, after rescuing the workers and finishing the Biggoron's Sword quest. But again, I could be wrong. It's just weird to look at it with the Twilight styled texturing (or is it really like that in the remake?) But it is Gerudo Valley from Ocarina of Time.
Yeah, the bridge does get repaired during the adult timeline. [sp]For those who haven't had the chance to play OoT yet, it's repaired when you rescue the carpenters from the Gerudo's hideout. [/sp] Yeah, the texturing is like that because the OoT remake had a texture style that was in between the original's and Twilight Princess's slightly more realistic look.
You're telling me you didn't leave your Gamecube on overnight so you could have a chance of fighting Mewtwo to unlock him?
The nostalgia burns so hard right now. Its like I'm a kid again and I wake up in the morning with the orange light glowing from the gamecube and KOing the 1 other character to end the match and fight Mewtwo.
You're telling me you didn't leave your Gamecube on overnight so you could have a chance of fighting Mewtwo to unlock him?
I tried this, but every time, someone would turn it off. No, Dad, I don't care about the power bill! I need this Mewtwo!
I tried this, but every time, someone would turn it off. No, Dad, I don't care about the power bill! I need this Mewtwo!
Wait how do you fight mewtwo if you leave it on at night ? I mean like don't you have to fight without it being paused ?
Wait how do you fight mewtwo if you leave it on at night ? I mean like don't you have to fight without it being paused ?
Two controllers, P1 vs P2 one stock. Leave it for ten hours, wake up, KO P2, and Mewtwo will show up.

That never happens in OoT, so I'm wondering what this could be.
You never ride the Pirate Ship through a storm in Wind Waker. King Bulbin never destroys part of the Bridge of Eldin. Luigi's Mansion never had crumbling pillars that could topple the mansion. Cresslia never appeared on Spear Pillar. Tails, Knuckles, and Silver never were in Green Hill Zone. The Rainbow Cruise ship never crashed into the course. Etc, etc
You should play more Melee.
20 hours of it, to be precise. Biggest problem with Melee is the ridiculous fucking unlock requirements.
20 hours of it, to be precise. Biggest problem with Melee is the ridiculous fucking unlock requirements.
Apparently, you only need 20 combined hours. If you have 4 controllers and do a 4 player match, you only need to leave it for six hours. I never knew any of this growing up. It's still a pretty crazy unlock though, but Mewtwo was a pretty big deal back in the day.
I just don't like that Lucario has a mega form now, too, meaning that Mewtwo doesn't have anything over him any more besides popularity. Also, what would you all think about Blaziken/Mega Blaziken getting into Smash? Edit: Take note that I don't necessarily want it in. I'm just curious.
Blaziken is my favorite pokemon. As long as they have a better voice than that deep ass one from the show I'd fuckin love it
20 hours of it, to be precise. Biggest problem with Melee is the ridiculous fucking unlock requirements.
Brawl's unlock requirements meant they were throwing characters at you, rather than feeling like you earned them.
Brawl's unlock requirements meant they were throwing characters at you, rather than feeling like you earned them.
you could also just play through the campaign and unlock every single character
As somebody that plays Smash Bros in a semi competitive way, I like having all characters unlocked early, so Brawl definitely pleased me, even tho I can understand why it is disliked. [editline]13th August 2013[/editline] I feel like the best way to do it would be to unlock characters easily through Adventure mode, have an option that allowsy ou to play through it without unlocking, and having other, harder ways to unlock them.
You could also unlock all the different characters via number of matches played in Brawl, if you wanted the challenge and satisfaction of unlocking them the longer way. But yeah, I'd have to agree with Maruhai on my appreciation of being able to unlock the characters early. My old Wii that I've been using for years (I think I have a launch model actually) was finally starting to kick the bucket, so I had to buy a new Wii last year. I probably wouldn't have bothered if unlocking the characters again would have taken me 400+ matches to do so.

While rewatching the Wii Fit Trainer video, I stumbled upon this: On the topic of unlocks, I don't mind how hard it is to unlock a character as long as it's worth it. But since my Wii died, I'm glad it ain't a chore to re-unlock everything in Brawl. So I'm divided here.
in melee there were things you could do to unlock the characters even if you had just started out. you just had to know them, and most of them didn't require a match count
Mewtwo only had long ways tho, 20 hours or 700 games, no thanks.
Beat Classic for Jiggly, finish the first stage of adventure with the seconds ending in 2 for Luigi, try out every starter character for Marth, and leave the console overnight for Mewtwo. There, all non clones sans G&W. Then for the clones, beat classic with Mario for Doc, beat classic with 10 characters incluiding Link and Zelda for Young Link, beat classic with Marth for Roy, beat 100-man Melee for Falco, beat event 29 for Ganondorf and event 37 for Pichu. Then, for G&W, if you got Young Link you are already 10/25 there, if you got Marth the longish way you are 14/25 there (with Jigglypuff, Dr.Mario and Young Link unlocked in the process), and if you proceed to get Roy you are 3/5ths into it. And Classic in Very Easy takes 5 minutes per character. So yeah, the only trouble with the Melee unlocks is Mewtwo, and maybe Ganondorf and Pichu, as well as G&W by proxy (although he worked as a final character FAR better than Wolf). So yeah, play classic, leave the console overnight with more than a single controller, and beat events. I still think Jigglypuff should be the sole character to be pretty much directly handled to you.
Looks like the Sticky Bomb is returning by the looks of today's pic.
Looks like the Sticky Bomb is returning by the looks of today's pic.
I think it might just be Megaman's crash bomb. They look similar though so it's hard to tell.
