see what i mean though
I'd love if nintendo made paper mario as a character, if they add another mario series character paper mario seems like the most obvious choice, especially sense he'd have plenty of moves to work with (up smash being his paper airplane ability for example)

He still doesn't look super happy. He's frowning.

It seems more like a slightly surprised face like "Oh you're going to fight me? Well, okay. I guess..."
i hope there's more character customization than color palettes and maybe 1 extra costume in ssb4.
i want an entire wardrobe for each character.

Not if they come up with the asswipe idea of making it DLC.
I love unlocking shit by playing the game, so I'd prefer that

Paper Mario would be neat but all I want for Christmas this year is Geno
I really like how Wario aside from his Wario Ware clothes also has a costume that gives him the classic Wario World clothes. I wish they do more of that in the next game.
[editline]13th May 2013[/editline]
I also hope they give Luigi the Poltergust 3000 and gives Ganon a sword (or at least make him not a Cpt Falcon clone)

Also make Yoshi fast and Fludd more useful.
If they change anything in luggy's moveset i'll be extremely disappointed, if they want the poltergust they can add E.Gadd, luigi is perfect as he is
Luigi's Mansion is probably the most Iconic game for Luigi's character so far. I think some moves based around the poltergust would make a lot more sense than having him explode himself forward and tripping balls as his final smash. E. Gadd would not make as much sense with a Poltergust because from the cutscenes we've seen him try to use it we can safely say that he's not fit for combat.

come on, nintendo wouldn't do that

As much as I would love Geno, possibly Mallow getting in, Square Enix probably won't give them up.
There is no excuse moveset wise for Geno or Mallow.

But I love the negative zone.
It's so bad.

I would really like it if they sold new characters and stages as DLC, though. Not like that crap with Pac-Man and Fat Mega Man being on the Street Fighter X Tekken disc, but actual DLC. Developed after the game has been released to breathe new life into the game.
Selling stages is fine. But characters is bullshit because then only people who pay for them would have access to them, characters define gameplay. Sell costumes instead.

For the most part, Nintendo is a tad reluctant to do post-release content because they'd feel like they originally sold an incomplete game. They've been warming up to that idea with patching games lately, but I don't know if they'd go as far as DLC, especially in a multiplayer fighter where you can play online against people who have not purchased DLC.
Cosmetics I'd have no problem with, but when you mix gameplay into that you're treading on shaky ground unless it's explicitly singleplayer.
people actually play super smash brothers online?
I actually played brawl with one of my online friends, yeah. But that was basically the only time I played online.
Well, there's the whole thing with New Super Luigi U, where they're adding basically an entirely new main mode. If they feel that they're only adding to the game, they'd do it.
As for online, well, there are fixes for that. Just let people with the DLC play other people with the DLC if they select a DLC character. Or disable DLC for online, even though I dislike that option immensely.

Let's not imagine how we'd manage life in hell until we actually arrive there

i just don't think that's something they'd do with smash bros.
what i would really like to see is being able to play on user-created levels, and upload levels online for download.

The difference is that New Super Luigi U is explicitly a single-player experience. The availability of the DLC has zero impact on anyone except the person playing it.
In a competitive online game (in the sense of players vs players, not tournament competition). If you restrict DLC players to play with other DLC players, you're segregating the community between haves and have-nots. If you disable DLC online, you alienate players who enjoy the DLC characters and stages. If you allow DLC players to play against non-DLC players, it becomes "pay-to-win" depending on how the DLC characters are balanced.
There's just no winning for Nintendo if they have DLC that isn't explicitly single-player, if there's DLC at all.
Fair enough. Although out of curiosity: Do literally no other fighting games do this? Or if they do, does everybody hate their existing systems?

Other fighting games, in some way, make sure all players get the content for the characters, but not actual access to them. Some do it by including it on the disc, others through a patch, and some through a "DLC" that's pretty much just an external patch, though it might include some free costume or something to try to get people more interested in downloading it
Wanna know what new character I think would be cool? Bowser Jr, with the Paint Brush from Super Mario Sunshine.
Give him some attacks from Yoshi's island, and maybe give him some Shadow Mario attacks (or make shadow Mario a palette swap for Mario)
i want ghirahim from skyward sword
he can be like a mix of marth and ganondorf
Peach was my main in Melee
She got so slow and floaty though in Brawl :(
I know this has been said before, but I really hope they add someone from the new Fire Emblem: Awakening game. Maybe the male and female versions of the Avatar.
They did the gender palette swap with Popo and Nana, so why not.

I'm certain Chrom's going to replace Ike.
