Only thing I don't like about Jigglypuff is her moveset. Sure, the signature Rollout can be very effective. But all the time? No. And her Side-B, literally a punch (Pound, in Pokemon, if you want to be technical) that has a cooldown making it much less efficient than a normal attack. Then there's the Sing move, Up-B, which is a cool concept but it isn't executed well because you need to be right next to the person to use it, and even then the delay makes it extremely risky to use anyway. On top of that, the effect lasts for about a second after you're done using the move, and they get up giving you just enough time to make a small attack, shield, or run away. Jigglypuff's Down-B, Rest (the move which does absolutely nothing unless you do it as you land directly on a character and time it perfectly right, in which case that character is KOed) is cool, but way too risky to be practical in a fight. I've got no complaints about the Final Smash, it's pretty good and looks cool. But other than that, most of the other characters are not only more effective fighters, but more fun to use (unless you enjoy using Roll-out over and over again and seeing if you don't get dominated when using Jigglypuff's other moves).
Pound is actually a great recovery move.

But the fighter makes up for it in having a superior airgame, not only in attacks, but the floatiness of the character allows you to chain your air attacks pretty consistently. Watch someone like hungrybox play and you'll see how potent of an airgame Jigglypuff has. It is unfortunate that it comes at the cost of having a very lackluster ground and special game, though.

Because I was referring to the Brawl version.

Pound has INSANE hitboxes and priority, and can be used to gain height in the air. Her aerial game is always one of the best. And Rest is hard to pull off. Brawl Puff got an unneeded nerf, like Falcon and Ganondorf. Just like Kirby for Melee.
insanely OP

unneeded nerf
I don't quite get that. If she was OP then surely the nerfs were necessary.
I don't quite get that. If she was OP then surely the nerfs were necessary.
No no, you misread.
Jigglypuff is at third place in the Melee tier list, only insanely OP but insanely demanding Fox and Falco are higher.
Oh, derp. I thought he was calling all three of them OP but Fox and Falco being more demanding. My bad.
Jigglypuff. More of a Lethal Joke Character than Dan Hibiki. :v:
Fox and Falco are OP if the player is really good, tho. They have an insanely high skill ceiling, and are very hard to pick up and play. This is a decent Falco against a pro using a low tier character, one which is brutally countered by the top tier characters. Despite using a very strong character, he makes mistakes and his opponent is quite a bit more skilled and exploits the mistakes AND the weaknesses of Falco to score a 4-0.

But man, that Mewtwo was really good.
Fox and Falco are OP if the player is really good.
I never understood this kind of statement.
that Mewtwo was really good.
even tho he plays shiek and marth, there is a reason his username is Mew2King
I never understood this kind of statement.
Basically, a lot of the metagame in Smash is learning unintended, somewhat exploity stuff. This kind of stuff needs a lot of practice to learn, and often involves moving your hand around the controller in strange ways. Some characters have more and more complex stuff, and Fox and Falco tend to be on that side of things.
Just learned there is a Smash Tournament 2 hours away from where I live in exactly 1 month. I'm going big guys.
I'm horrible at Smash Bros. I've been playing it all my life and I constantly lose to the CPU on Hard mode.
how
CPUs in Smash Bros are kinda a joke.
they're ridiculously bad at everything except frame perfect stuff for example a melee bot will be super predictable and run into your charged smashes but if you try to do a sweet combo it will powershield everything it's retarded

I believe Jigglypuff was Satoshi Tajiri's favourite Pokemon which is why she was included in SSB64
After watching the newest DYKG video on Donkey Kong, it reminded me how much I loved the setting and music of Diddy Kong Racing. It would be awesome if Timber Island was added as a stage, but I know it will never happen.
Brawl's AI is absolutely terrible when its a 4-player free-for-all. If there's one human player, and that player just died and is respawning, the AI will ignore eachother and wait for them to respawn. And if there is no human player, they awkwardly fight each other.
I believe Jigglypuff was Satoshi Tajiri's favourite Pokemon which is why she was included in SSB64
Nope, that was Poliwhirl. Jiggly was VERY popular in Japan when Smash 64 was made, and it stuck.

It's not as bad as, say, Mario Kart, but even a four-way free-for-all tends to have the AI chase after a single human moreso than they do eachother. I mean, I could understand if the player proved themself to be enough of a threat in a match that they might dynamically go after them, but sheesh.
Bot AI is tough to do man. It was nothing stellar, but I thought they had fair difficulties for bots. They do cheat on some things, which was lame, but it wasn't game-breaking cheating at least.

Like in Brawl, if you're with AI teammates and one of them gets a Dragoon, odds are they'll pointlessly waste it trying to hit you because they're coded to prioritize the player above all else. Same with Bob-ombs, which CAN hurt you for friendly fire.
CPUs in Smash Bros are kinda a joke.
The scary thing is that CPU level 9 in Brawl actually learn combos from the player.
The scary thing is that CPU level 9 in Brawl actually learn combos from the player.
Really? I wouldn't expect that level of complexity with Brawl bots. Pretty cool. I wonder what bots will be like in the next game.
I wonder what bots will be like in the next game.
Pikachu Thunder spam.
The scary thing is that CPU level 9 in Brawl actually learn combos from the player.
Yet they suck terribly hard
