Or even change up the trainer to have like a psychic/ghost/dark combo.
Psychic/ghost/dark, specifically? I don't really want that if I'm sacrificing grass, water and fire. Types should stay the same, but starters should be different.
I've mentioned this three times before, but here's a somewhat realistic angle to the idea. The Pokemon Trainer gets 3 starter Pokemon. A pool of 15 Pokemon--one for each type other than the 3 starter types--can drop via Mystery Balls, which are more rare than CDs. Using a drop-down menu in the Character Selection screen, the Pokemon Trainer can choose 3 different Pokemon that he or she has caught. All Pokemon are balanced, but each have somewhat unique movesets. Move-type and weakness are taken into account with all Pokemon.
I'm kinda sad that they're cutting Lucario. I was a fucking beast with him in Brawl.
I just hope the new Pokemon rep is as viable as Lucario.

So horrible and not viable to play against anybody that isn't Bowser ?

Unless you're a straight competitive player, every character's viable against every character. I've won quite a few local smash tournaments with Lucario and that's all I ever need.
Cutting Lucario doesn't really make sense imo. MewTwo is the only other character who makes sense for Pokemon, and they don't really share anything besides their B move and jumps. Lucario represents the newer Pokemon, and [sp]you GET Lucario with a Mega Stone as part of the story in X/Y[/sp], not to mention he is still on a decent amount of Pokemon advertising, in addition to MewTwo. Having MewTwo over Lucario would mean all 6 playable Pokemon are from the first generation.
They may as well add both, it wouldn't be the first time a series had 5 characters.

How come you can't be viable with anybody in a tournament? Is there that big of a difference in balance where some characters have a clear advantage in professional hands?
and -spoiler-
Use sp, not spoiler.

Yep. Every character has clear advantages when put into the right hands, it's just that 90% of people don't know these advantages and play for fun.
Why do you think Meta Knight and the StarFox twins are used so often in tournaments?

So, no matter how good somebody is, they cannot win a tournament with a low-end character when their competitor uses a high-end, regardless of how much better the low-end character user is?

No, it's still dependent on skill. It depends mostly on skill, but character choice is also a factor. In higher level play, everyone is skilled, but knowing your character and knowing the tells of another character can change the flow of a battle.

Not only that but Lucario was the [sp]first pokemon to ever Mega Evolve lore wise[/sp].
If we have Lucario I don't think it'll be him just along with Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Pokemon Trainer. There'll be somebody else--maybe Mewtwo [sp](but hopefully Tropius)[/sp].
Hoping when Ness is revealed that a new earthbound related stage is announced in the screenshots
What could it be? Saturn Valley? I'm hoping to see Fourside make a return personally (I'd like to see every stage from every game return, since the Wii U's data allowance makes it possible to do so.)

That just makes it awkward when you [sp]go into a random online battle and get your shit wrecked by a level 40 Mega Charizard the day of the game's release.[/sp]

[sp]It was before the events of X/Y[/sp]
I don't even think Ness would be cut from roster, I mean he has appeared in all the games.
Still crossing my fingers for a new rep from the Earthbound series. Flint or Duster would be awesome. Lucas was just kind of underwhelming as much as I like his character.

Jeff would be a great option if they're going for a Mother 2 focus (considering that's the most popular and most available game in the series)

Kumatora from Mother 3 would be great
No, look, you're all wrong.
The only viable Mother rep at this point is

I'd love if he had alternate skins to resemble the other dogs in the series
Speaking of Mother 3, I would love a remix of Rock and Roll (Spicy) for the next Smash Bros

Or if Duster gets in, I'd kill for a updated version of Mind of a Thief
Pic of the day. What a great sound a Meteor Smash makes when it slams on an opponent! …Which, I'm sure, you can't tell by the picture.
Sometimes I wish they'd mix it up by posting an audio sample like they did for the daily brawl reveals.
I swear Mario's Meteor Smash punch is the most screenshotted/featured in trailers move in the entire series, they just show it off whenever possible

It wrecked faces endlessly in melee. But it seems like everything about Mario was gimped in Brawl. which is a real shame, Mario felt really balanced and fun in Melee.
Fludd. What more needs to be said
I never used FLUDD in Brawl.
I never used FLUDD in Brawl.
The things useless. It takes too long to charge for an attack that doesn't do any damage, will very likely miss, and doesn't actually do all that much even when you get a direct hit. I hope they buff it significantly for this game. Or like Sakurai said earlier, maybe they'll change that entirely before release.
I really hate how jumping works in Brawl.
If you're dashing at full speed, jumping locks your movement, and it doesn't matter if you jump from standing still or running as fast as you can.
I'd use FLUDD if it had little or no charging time, if it had no charge time and was easier to use in mid-air it would actually be useful in keeping enemies off the stage

It just never had enough push back for me.
Plus it probably wouldn't keep tether characters from recovering since the tether can be really stretched.
