The things useless. It takes too long to charge for an attack that doesn't do any damage, will very likely miss, and doesn't actually do all that much even when you get a direct hit. I hope they buff it significantly for this game. Or like Sakurai said earlier, maybe they'll change that entirely before release.
Well we should be thankful that Fludd is back in SSB4 then.
I hope this new smash brothers is more "competitive-friendly" than Brawl. Melee was great in this aspect because it was fun casually and was also very open to competitive play, which kept the game alive. Brawl was slow, and very casual, and not that fun for me, and the game died pretty quickly due to Nintendo not caring about competitive gaming at all. I'm not holding my breath this new Smash Bros will be like Melee in this aspect, but I hope it will...

I wasnt sure if that opinion was douchey, but I play 64 only. I played Melee a ton, but I currently only play classic.

Yeah, it was seen during the Mario vs. Mega Man offscreen fight at E3. But I believe Sakurai said in a Peach-related Daily Pic that movesets aren't final and could be changed, even ones that they've already shown. That said, I'm still gonna hope for the Mario Tornado to make a comeback until the day the game releases.

I like 64 too, it's really good, besides some annoying bugs
What if they replaced FLUDD with a cat suit/raccoon suit?
I guess I'm in the minority that kinda likes the Fludd [sp]and Link's wind boomerang[/sp]. I always seem to find time in matches to charge the thing up, and I know that on more than one occasion it's helped me to gain the advantage, including instances where I was able to push people away far enough to not recover. If anything, I'd like for it to do some damage (perhaps similar to the damage output of Fox's blaster per water spray effect), but otherwise I think it's fine.
Mario already has a projectile more effective than the damn Fludd.
Just put back the Star spin since it's his signature move from Galaxy, and replace Luigi's down B by some kind of Poltergust 5000 attack.
Does anybody know if there will be any major differences between the wii u and 3ds versions besides graphics?

Only thing that is supposed to stay largely the same between them is the characters. Levels will be all different, and it sounds like the different modes will be way different too.
Anyone else think Tanooki Mario would be an interesting character
Like just think about it a bit

Or maybe they could do the smart thing and bring back the Mario Tornado, but give it a Mario Galaxy twist on it with this luma coming out of his hat after the spin:

It would make the fans happy. It's an old, loveable move with a slightly new twist to it.

Just make the Tanooki Leaf a "low-grav" power up that running lets you jump higher.

You don't think that would look random and out of place?

I'd take him over Dr. Mario any day. (Apologies to any Doc fans, but I think Tanooki Mario would be really cool.)
...Crap, now I kind of want him.
B: Tail Twirl
-Mario spins around with his tail and can reflect projectiles. When used in the air, it behaves like it does in SMB3: Slows your descent.
Side B: Blue Block
-This is sort of filler. Mario pulls out one of those throwable blue blocks from SMB3 and tosses it. It slides along the ground and breaks if it hits something.
Up B: Fly (Duh)
-Mario flies, naturally. Perhaps the more you run around during the match, the longer you can fly for.
Down B: Statue
-This would basically behave like Kirby's Down B.

[sp]i want mario spin back tho[/sp]

What, and Snake trying to strangle Kirby wasn't random?
Seriously though, where even is Kirby's neck?
I would sorta be surprised if they added these fighters from Smash Bros 64 Beta

I also liked the [sp]Wind Boomerang[/sp]
It still does damage if it hits close and it feels more effective at blowing back enemies than the DUDD even did.

It's neat to know Captain Falcon (and possibly Shiek) were technically the first characters in the series, looking at those moves.
It's well known that Captain Falcon is pretty much only in the series because he had the right body type to inherit that moveset

Rings confirmed. It's also fun trying to figure out if this stage will be banned from comp play. It probably will won't it?

It looks like it will be pretty much impossible to stall on that stage, so I highly doubt it.

I thought moving stages were pretty much banned from comp play.
It seems like a nice nostalgic stage, but then that statement could go towards virtually anything in Smash Bros. Helps that they basically have the first island from the original SNES game as part of the level. Something tells me the stage is basically going to be a bobbing plane that goes about a set route while its turns shift the plane (or player weight, possibly, but I doubt it).
The lighting and detail on the plane look absolutely fantastic.
What determines a comp stage or not? I'm guessing horrible movement ones, such as the Donkey Kong level on Brawl, or levels with stage hazards. Is that it?

Final Destination.
We're always talking about competitive play in this thread.
Is that all there is to SSB now? I just don't have any interest in competitive SSB, or competitive gaming in general.
