I don't think I could ever go back to Melee. There are a lot of things I miss, but Ganondorf's my favorite character, and I like him so much better in Brawl. He feels a lot less like a Captain Falcon now than he did in Melee.

Jigglypuff was lethal in Melee. In Brawl she plain sucked and was hard to get on top of that. So they took away the two things that made the character (first unlockable, and high as fuck skill ceiling). Melee's gameplay was better than Brawl. And Brawl had too many recycled assets to be unique. Melee at least didn't copypaste most of its trophy models. Plus the legendary Pokemon; that event with just those was awesome. Cue Brawl and the nerf of Pokeballs because of Assist Trophies (lacking in the variety department while we are at it).

everything felt weaker in brawl than in melee imo attacks had more oompf but i feel like they all did less damage idk if that makes sense

In class me and 3 other friends fire up SSB on an emulator and play every single recess with Xbox gamepads. It makes me look forward to every day at school. [sp]That doesn't count as warez does it?[/sp]

Both Brawl and Melee gone there, and I never owned SMB, just rented.

I hope the 3DS version isn't inferior to the Wii U version in terms of content. I spent so many hours in Melee when I was younger, starting out fresh and getting everything quite a few times because memory cards were unreliable and hard to keep track of The original was fun, brawl was fun, but melee was just phenomonal

One thing that's a relief is Mewtwo will probably be returning since he's relevant again with his new form and everything. I just hope you can toggle between his new and classic forms like you can with Wario.

Or maybe they'll only put in Mewtwo's new form and ignore the old one. (I kind of hope it's not the last one. I like the new form, but original Mewtwo must take precedence.)

am I the only one who can't play brawl simply because of the sounds? Like, the music is fine. But the sounds the characters make (voices, hitsounds etc) are awful...

i really hope they add skull kid from majora's mask. pretty much the only character i can think of that i really would like to see. obviously there's banjo and kazooie but like thats ever gonna happen. I hope they add Black Shadow from F-Zero... And move the "heavy Captain Falcon" playstyle to it, opening Ganondorf for something new. Mewtwo's Final Smash HAS to be Psystrike.

Banjo and Kazooie both belong to microsoft, dunno why some people think they have even then faintest hope of getting in.

The last boss was Demise aka Ganondorf before he was human/gerudo/blue pig.

Chances are, if you ask any Zelda fan, they'll know who Ganon is, but won't know the plot twist of the latest game. Game I'd say doesn't feel like a Zelda should, with that whole endurance for running, and endurance for your arm-waggling.

I see no reason to not include every Brawl character. Dropping characters between games is unfair on people who have really trained with those characters, especially characters that were in both Meele and Brawl. That said I'm not sure if Toon Link will return. It's hard to say. On the one hand I can see him being replaced by Link To The Past Link. Though I'd rather LTTP Link just be an alt costume and keep Toon Link. Specially with Windwaker U coming out. Oh great, I've been waiting for this thread for ages. Shame that my disc is broken and it freezes at Great Maze's Rayquaza fight. I tried literally everything, cleaning the console, cleaning the disc and some other things. Guess I'm not given to beat it. This thread reminded me of the match when I put up a party and we started playing SSBB at one point. One of the guests was being a total prick and used Meta Knight every single match. It was Loser Out, so he was always in the game - I lost to him too (but only because he literally pushed me irl while the game was in the Sudden Death) and he started to brag about how he's the best one on the party. One person remained unbeaten - the Newbie didn't ever hear about Brawl, neither was he aware of Wii's existence. He kept on asking how does he punch, control and all that. He chose Mario (he was the only character he knew), Prick went with Meta Knight once again. The Prick lost. The Newbie survived with 3 stocks out of 5. We all started screaming and kept on asking how the hell did he manage to pull it off.
