The way they wanted to design the Ray Gun to not looking like a real gun let me think they will drop out Snake of the roster. He's like using a ton of guns and military weapon and they're all looking like real things. I hope he gets replace though, with a more cartoonest character.
Except he never uses a gun in brawl for that exact reason. The closest stuff he uses are explosives like samus and link. I don't see what people have against Snake. He adds more variety than just an endless array of cartoon characters. I don't see why him not doing much for Nintendo right now makes any difference either - considering Game and Watch and ROB are both in the game.
I don't see why him not doing much for Nintendo right now makes any difference either - considering Game and Watch and ROB are both in the game.
Those characters aren't practically advertising the competitor's systems in a time where Nintendo needs all the sales they can get.
If Snake isn't back there should be another Metal Gear character in his place. Preferably Jetstream Sam.
I approve.
Except he never uses a gun in brawl for that exact reason. The closest stuff he uses are explosives like samus and link.
Well, his side smash is literally an RPG7. I distinctly remember because it's three hundred times more bullshit than PK Love.

Explosions are fine, it's bullets that are an issue.
Rocket Launchers don't kill people! Guns do!
Rocket Launchers don't kill people! Guns do!
Explosions fall under cartoon violence. Bullets do not. It's as simple as that.
toad basically deconfirmed at this point
toad gets all the bitches
I wonder if they'll do a special SSB edition Wiiu, if so I'll get it

Will the 3DS version be running at 60FPS? I can't imagine it otherwise.
Pic of the day. A red-black effect now appears when you're hit by a strong blow. It'll only appear when you have high damage, so when you see this you're in trouble--and you're probably about to get KO'd!

That's fucking awesome.
I'm a sucker for these kinds of effects. This may be my favorite Smash yet just because of stuff like this. Looks like they're really giving it a lot of character this time around.
Looks like they're really giving it a lot of character this time around.
And Brawl didn't already have 40 or so? *rimshot*
Man I really hope all these visual effects don't get so loud and vibrant that it becomes difficult to keep track of everyone.
I also hope the red doesn't conflict with the red blasts/swooshes used for character attacks... didn't they show that off a while ago, where the red player does red damage? /mightbegoingcrazy
If Snake isn't back there should be another Metal Gear character in his place. Preferably Jetstream Sam.
But..But..Bladewolf :(
But..But..Bladewolf :(
he'll be an assist trophy, so when you pull him out, he can tell you that's he's gonna scout ahead and run off

[t]http://www.ssbwiki.com/images/e/ee/SSB4_daily_image_26-07-2013.jpg[/t]
Ah yeah that was the picture I was thinking of. Honestly shouldn't be much of a problem then. As long as the game still slows way down on a direct hit, that might be my favorite feature.
We can all agree that they are doing a tremendous job on the readability of this game. From tiny stuff like attack swipes to high-damage lightning, going through amazingly looking particles. I can't fucking wait to get my hands on it.
Let's recount all the stylistic changes they're making so far: -Black lightning emanating from smashes against high-damage players -Colored launch trails indicating what player gets the point in the case of a KO -Sharper air-swipes during attacks to make them more pronounced at a distance -A higher-contrast color palette, in contrast to the increasingly-gritty looks of past games -Optional outlines are available on the 3DS version to compensate for the small screen -Metallic damage meters that fade white-green-yellow-red instead of the past games' white-red -Character-specific blade effects, like Marth's slashes emphasizing the tip or Toon Link's cartoony slashes They're really making it stand out from the other three. It's a lot more stylized this time around; kinda reminds me of SMBZ.
Now give us Waluigi so I can have purple punches
I'm liking what they're doing with the game in terms of improving the graphics from a gameplay standpoint. I found that in brawl and at times melee it was hard to tell what was going on at times.
Brawl was too washed out and Melee was too blurry

So far, it's the only fighter with a unique KO particle outside the standard flash.
True. We don't know for certain yet if the others will have anything, though. And personally, I've been waiting for custom stamina deaths since Melee. Think of it: Mario characters/Sonic/Kirby/Pit: The classic Mega Man: Same as his KO; the iconic eight way explosion Samus: Suit breaks apart and she fades in a flash of light, a la the later 2D games Snake: "Snake?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!" Keels over, disappears via cloaking device (this provided he even returns) Pokémon: Faint while a Pokéball bounces in, recalls them, and bounces back out And so forth. On that note, I'd really love to see stamina with a lives system, or just worked into the main modes as an alternative to damage percentage.
