There's apparently some rumors that there WILL be a Mii character, we'll have to see what happens and see if Nintendo says anything

I hope there isn't. The whole point of the Mii is that it's generic, the best you could get out of its moveset was a bunch of references to the Mii-only games. That and it'd be a wasted slot that could be spent on GOLDEN SUN other characters GOLDEN SUN

So you could end up with a mid-weight link style melee fighter with a Samus style arm cannon and Yoshi's egg roll?

Still hate how there is only 1 playable Metroid character. Ridley is what everybody would spam, so seeing another Bounty Hunter would be nice. Sylux, Weavel, really any of them.

You can't just be pulling relatively obscure characters just so a franchise has more representation. Also there's 2 playable Metroid characters, Samus and ZSS.

Samus moves rather heavy, as DS is extremely agile and has a tonne of non-arm cannon attacks. It pretty much makes up all of her attacks. Especially in the first fight, shes gliding around all over the place and doing dive bombs on you and creating similarly large explosions on impact. IDK, I see some potential. She is the antagonist of the series' most famous collection of games. She is also relevant enough to Samus to make the cut.

I heard somewhere that the Japanese playerbase doesn't like/completely ignores the Metroid Prime games, so it doesn't sound entirely likely

Giving more emphasis to Other M over the Prime series is plain BULLSHIT. Seriously. Having both Ridley AND Dark Samus would be awesome tho.

Or like that Combot thing from Tekken tag 2. Where you could customize each of its moves and its appearance. That's actually the perfect way to work Mii's in.

It should have different attacks, weight and speed based on the Mii's colour, height and fatness.

I feel like Mii would just be a weird hybrid of GnW/Megaman and Peach. Just random sports as attacks.

I would suggest Miis as custom characters only available in local play.

It was meant to look more ~feminine~ and just for fucks, lets give a already skin-tight zero-suit high heels too because dedicated fans just don't get that Samus isn't already a Girl I suppose. I can see something like that hitting home more for the japanese players too, sadly.

Prime especially, they hate a lot of FPS games, but Other M was made to appeal to the fanboys with its nostalgia pandering and towards the Japanese market with the linearity, the depictions of the characters and otherwise. It's actually funny how weird the cultural differences involving the series go. Like how Retro Studios wanted to put bounty hunting side-missions in Prime 3, but Nintendo of Japan was like, "No, Samus isn't someone that would stoop that low," bounty hunters mean something completely different in Japan and thus she's just an unfettered hero through and through over there. The Other M armor doesn't look bad in Smash, albeit the arm cannon looks rather piddly, but i'm just hoping Zero Suit Samus doesn't match her Other M depiction (if she wasn't removed outright from the roster this go around).

Does anybody remember that E3 rumor where the guy guessed at Villager, Mega Man, and Wii Fit Trainer's reveals? He claimed that Little Mac, Pac-Man, and Miis were going to be shown as well, but that obviously didn't happen. Despite that, calling the three newcomers (and in WFT's case, the most unexpected character ever) before E3 is impressive and a bit fishy.

They cannot back up how bad of an idea it was to assign solely one person to create the story for Other M. Every dev literally had an idea for what each character could be. One of them [I]still [/I]does believe that Ridley is female, even though no one supported the idea.
