I don't know why more obscure characters come as a shock to you guys after WFT made it in.

The only thing I'm thinking about from that trailer is all the fighting looked [I]really[/I] slow

She's definitely not obscure, just a surprise.

I wonder if Rosalina will be able to do any broken combos.

Not that I am complaining about Rosalina/Villager/WTF as they look fun move set wise, but I'm a little concerned that they seem to be resorting to obscure/niche/gimmick characters except for third parties. I know we only have four newcomers so far alongside the rumored newcomers, but still I hope we get some less gimmicky/obscure newcomers as well.

I would call Mr. Game & Watch a gimmick character but he's been here since Melee.

Like, I don't think it's possible to describe her without mentioning her appearance, profession or role in the story.

Rosalina is a good pick, but it certainly doesn't raise the chances of the great Waaaah-meister. Also people complaining that there are good deal of Mario reps...that's like complaining that MVC has an abundance of Street Fighter representatives. The biggest franchise always gets the biggest piece of the pie, it's only natural.

I am not really upset about Rosalina being added, it's just that they have been overusing her a lot lately.

I think it's nice they're adding more female newcomers, only 3 or 4 out of the 35 playable characters were female in brawl iirc

yeah its nice, but its too bad the nintendo females in Smash are really boring. zelda, peach and this new rosalina are all blonde girls in dresses... I mean samus and shiek are really cool though from a design perspective i mean, theyre all fun to play

You know, [B]God.[/B] She creates universes while she's attacking, going by the trailer. Countless planets with all matters of life, intelligent sentient beings with lives of their own, goals to accomplish... [B]ALL GONE WITHIN THE SPLIT SECOND SHE DOES A BACK AIR.[/B] Nintendo likes milking their god-like characters. Arceus had roles in Heart Gold and Soul Silver, Palutena had an entire anime episode to herself, and now, Rosalina is playable in Mario Kart Wii onwards, and 3D World, and now Smash.

Nintendo is good at what they do, and they can represent female characters while adding to the game. It's not such a big deal.

i can understand PSI guy's rage, that particular topic has been forcing itself into video games pretty often as of late, which is fucking retarded. Back to smash bros, when they revealed Rosalina I first said "what a waste of a character slot." similar when i saw wii fit trainer, but just like with her, when i saw gameplay of rosalina, i think she could be a pretty fun character. And i wish they would finally give this damn game a subtitle already, i mean they couldn't possibly just call it "super smash bros for wii u/3DS"

She looks fun and has a very creative moveset, so I'm not complaining.

Her moveset at least has some interesting gimmicks/mechanics, I'll give her that. I just never cared for her because her entire involvement in Mario Galaxy left absolutely no impression on me. She has a sad backstory? Boo hoo. It turns out she's space-god or some shit? Whatever. Anyways, I don't mind female characters being added, I just get ticked off when people try using a character's gender as justification for adding them. Rosalina has a lot of other things going for her even without bringing up "she's a girl".
