I honestly don't think we're gonna see any significant roster drops, barring Snake and Lucario which seem pretty likely for contractual reasons. From melee to brawl, all the dropped characters were either replaced (mewtwo) or lazy clones (Dr. Mario/pichu).
But Lucas was better then Ness in every way IMO. Might as well keep in him considering that Earthbound only has him and Ness to represent the game. They could always add another Earthbound character, 3 is not to much compared to Mario's 6 representatives.

No way that'll happen, the series wasn't popular and has basically ended now.
If they re-add Metaknight. I hope they balance him out to where he is not the most over powered character in the game again.
tbh not changing meta knight in ssb4 would be perfectly fine
the only reason meta knight was op in brawl is because he was the only character that could be played like a melee character (aka offensive and defensive with combo potential) while all others characters were nerfed to the brawl tempo (defensive only)
if ssb4 is really between melee and brawl in term of gameplay like sakurai said, the brawl meta knight would be pretty balanced
If nintendo used lucas' project M moveset I could see him returning.
Lucario is nowadays pretty much the secondary mascot of the franchise. After Zoroark failed to ingrain itself, Lucario started to get all the developer love again, so I wouldn't really discount it...

That'd be nice. A few interesting ideas for his moveset in that mod, I'll admit. I wouldn't mind seeing it in a real installment.
Hell yeah, me and my friends used to have four level 9 Wario CPUs brawling against each other and then bet on who would win and shit. Sometimes we'd put a level 1 in just for funsies. (He never got last place oddly enough)
we sometimes go all wario, on the highest speed, with a handicap of 999% and joust by running into each other with the motorcycle as soon as we respawn.

Considering Brawl was one of the biggest reasons Lucario became so well-known and popular (even among people who didn't care about pokemon at all), I don't see why the same couldn't happen to Zoroark or something else.
Thinking about it, they could give Zoroark a moveset functionally like a combination of Lucario and Wolf, with a down-B that would allow him to take the form of the nearest fighter (with a dark aura to make clear who's who) and have access to slightly weaker versions of their moves until he gets hit. Would be a pretty unique character to play, able to temporarily use his foe's abilities against them and link them with his own combos by changing back and forth, resulting in quite a huge amount of depth that completely changes based on who you're fighting.
How the hell is Mega Man similar to Snake?

3rd party character iconic to classic Nintendo games but with no relevant new titles on Nintendo platforms. Snake and Megaman are both guest appearances.
sorry I didn't respond to this before simski could. my other line of thought was Mega Man's enormous arsenal of projectiles: not necessarily a direct reason to cut Snake, but if he doesn't make it back, Mega Man becomes the spiritual successor.
A long time ago someone made a Rosalina skin/model replacement mod for Peach, which I used.
Having grown fond of Rosalina while playing Mario Galaxy, and kicking ass with her in Mario Kart Wii, I always wished she would be her own actual character in Smash Bros. But I never thought it possible, Mario has a lot of reps already, there are other characters they can put in, etc.
And then I saw the announcement trailer for her in Smash Bros 4.
I. Am. So. Freaking. HAPPY!!!
Seriously oh my god I never thought it would actually happen. Someone that was actually on my wishlist actually made it into the actual game.
And she looks fun to use with a unique moveset. It's..it's beautiful...
Why don't some of the characters on the Smash site still not have 3DS screenshots? The Villager doesn't have any and neither does Olimar or the WFT.

There have been daily pics with them on the 3DS.
Yeah I know but they should be with the 'official' set of screens.
and my hunt for a 2gb card continues, because best buy lacks them
the internet says there are some at walmart
i shall take my search there
Soo.... if allowed by the rules, could someone teach me how to set up Project M?
[editline]22nd December 2013[/editline]

1gb is more than plenty.
Since I got back into Pokemon with X and Y, I think the Kalos trainer would be a good series rep for Pokemon. He actually has a good enough reason to be a mix and matched trailer since the Kalos region has all the pokemon mix and matched together instead of separate like every other generation. Plus he can keep Charizard which is the pretty much the reason Pokemon Trainer is picked the most for.
yes
2gb card obtained
I bought a few of them on amazon they were about 5 dollars each with amazon prime.
yes
got project m working
i love it so much
now i need to learn how to hover consistently so i can impress the shit out of my friends when i show them this
and i'm a bit confused about ivysaur's solarbeam
how do i consistently use it? does it charge up over time like wario's fart?

I've found using his B-Neutral charges it.
I'm hopefully getting a 2 GB SD card tomorrow. I've never been too interested in Project M, but now I can't wait to play it! Roy's definitely gonna be my first pick.
Went to Best Buy so I could pick up a 2GB sd card. The lowest they had was fucking 16 GB... Times have changed.

I went to three big chains in my town and none of them had anything below 8 gigs.
I ended up having to get my card on Amazon...
Why do you need a 2GB or less card anyway? Seems counter intuitive to me.
I actually recently bought 2 8 gig cards for the 3DSs my brother and I have. I used one of the 2 GB cards from those to install Project M on.
there's something magical about special matches with metal, fast speed, bunny, and 300% on extremely small stages

Could be that the software required to install the mod can't read SDHC, the technology that enables SD cards to go above 2GB.
