Every attack would be "that reminds me of a puzzle" and then the game pauses for half an hour while the opponents try to solve it
Final smash is a three-dimensional sudokube.
What do you guys think of the idea of Professor Layton joining Smash Bros?
I would love that, to be honest. Layton is my favorite videogame character of all time, even though I haven't played much of his games. He's just the coolest guy around. Did you ever see the movie? so rad
What do you guys think of the idea of Professor Layton joining Smash Bros?
His final smash would be giving his opponents a puzzle and the opponent can't do anything until they solve the puzzle.
Imagine Layton's final smash where a puzzle comes up, and you have like 10 seconds to solve it, and 4 areas of the stage become highlighted with answers above them. If you stand on the right answer, the damage is halved, if you stand on the wrong answer, then the smash goes as planned.
What do you guys think of the idea of Professor Layton joining Smash Bros?
The same as Phoenix Wright joining the game It'll be wonderful but will never happen still hopping for assist trophies though
What do you guys think of the idea of Professor Layton joining Smash Bros?
I want both Layton and Phoenix Wright. I don't care who gets in as long as both Layton and Wright make it in.
Wohoho let's not ahead of ourselves. I'm still waiting on another Fire Emblem representative. *crosses fingers for either Chrom or Robin*
I want Layton if only for the music.
As long as nothing happens to Mr. game and watch I'm happy
As long as nothing happens to Mr. game and watch I'm happy
I doubt it. He's survived two games already and is massively popular with the playerbase. I'd see no reason to boot him now if I were Nintendo.
melee characters are safe (unless they were "updated"), full stop no way in hell ganon/falco/2 pokemon reps/ice climbers/another fire emblem rep/game and watch don't return.
I doubt it. He's survived two games already and is massively popular with the playerbase. I'd see no reason to boot him now if I were Nintendo.
And they won't have to update his visuals that much since he's 2D.
I'm talking about Smash Bros in general.
but lucario/mewtwo are pokemon that have been in previous games. we're not talking about a new pokemon character here. [editline]2nd January 2014[/editline]
melee characters are safe (unless they were "updated"), full stop no way in hell ganon/falco/2 pokemon reps/ice climbers/another fire emblem rep/game and watch don't return.
not including the clones and mewtwo, yeah. mewtwo is likely but not certain.
I was playing Wolf a lot yesterday, and I realized I really want him to come back. It's a shame he's probably one of the lower priority characters, though.
melee characters are safe (unless they were "updated"), full stop no way in hell ganon/falco/2 pokemon reps/ice climbers/another fire emblem rep/game and watch don't return.
Falco could do with some changes though Personally I'm fine with Ganondorf how he is. Maybe if they let you switch from Sword to Hands/Feet it would be good, but i like his current moveset a lot.
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I'd love if Quote from CaveStory became a playable character. [t]http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110107214659/c__/cavestory/images/6/6b/Quote.jpg[/t] CaveStory's been ported on both the Wii and 3ds, and there's a new 3ds version featuring 3d models, so maybeeee?
I really hate to say this but it's not well known enough
Neither were Earthbound and Fire Emblem during the time of Melee's release. And look at those franchises now.

An assist trophy at the most, regular trophy or stickers (if they keep stickers) at the least. Getting Quote into Smash Bros is about as likely as getting CommanderVideo from the BIT.TRIP series or the Gooball from World of Goo, both of which were some of the most-popular third-party WiiWare titles.
Neither were Earthbound and Fire Emblem during the time of Melee's release. And look at those franchises now.
Fire Emblem and EarthBound were both well-known in Japan, aka Nintendo's focus when it comes to appealing to gamers, and on top of that both those franchises are owned by Nintendo.
If Sakurai feels like making a slightly obscure series well-known, he should start with Dillon's Rolling Western.

[t]http://static2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110107214659/c__/cavestory/images/6/6b/Quote.jpg[/t]
Not happening, Pixel declined Edmund McMillen the use of Quote in Super Meat Boy, so there's no way he'd even appear in SSB4 other than maybe as a collectible.
Not happening, Pixel declined Edmund McMillen the use of Quote in Super Meat Boy, so there's no way he'd even appear in SSB4 other than maybe as a collectible.
He denied them on the grounds of "He wouldn't make sense there." But in that same vain Quote is playable in BIT.TRIP Presents...Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Also I'm sure he knows more about Smash Bros than he did about Meat Boy back during its development. So he may be less hesitant to deny such a request if prompted.
As cool as it would be to have Quote in Smash Bros, don't you think he'd encroach on Mega Man's projectile focus? Granted, Quote has King's Blade to work with for melee, and Mega has the Slash Claw in the upcoming game I think (can't remember quite well), but overall I think there's not much he can do that would be truly unique beyond his varied weapon selection, which Mega Man also specializes in.
Fire Emblem and EarthBound were both well-known in Japan, aka Nintendo's focus when it comes to appealing to gamers, and on top of that both those franchises are owned by Nintendo.
I meant to refer to how popular they were stateside. My apologies for the confusion.
Now I'm thinking how much I'd love Commander Video in SmashU.
I don't think there's nearly enough stuff in the BIT.TRIP series to fill a moveset for Smash. CommanderVideo himself technically hasn't even done too much himself, most of the gameplay is metaphorical, only 2 of the games you even get to control him (3 if you count Runner2), and in the others he only appears in cutscenes, and in a few of them it's not even him but a metaphorical representation of him. Assist trophy material I could see working, though. He could blow up in size like the intro to VOID, or he could float around and attack anything around him with one of the 4 powerups like in FATE. Video of the first one for those who haven't played VOID. Although knowing Gaijin, if they were asked to have CV represented in some way they'd want it to have content based on Runner or Beat since those are the 2 most-renowned ones in the series.
Not happening, Pixel declined Edmund McMillen the use of Quote in Super Meat Boy, so there's no way he'd even appear in SSB4 other than maybe as a collectible.
No, it wasn't Amaya. It was Nicalis that kept denying use of Quote in stuff. While we're at it, Nicalis are a bunch of lazy pricks.
