The only Third-Party character I'd like to see is Simon Belmont from the Castlevania games.
yeah I mean it'd be my wildest fantasy to have the extremely well tuned and fun gameplay of TF2 with fuckin' The Scout and Ratchet and Sly Cooper and Pac-Man and the Nintendo cast and Super Meat Boy and the dude from Gunpoint and every other main character/villain/mascot in the book, but that doesn't happen almost every single character who's been suggested more than once would be cool to see.
If Pacman DID get in the game (which I somehow doubt will happen), he better be something classic. Anything but this new... [t]http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130314215033/pacman/images/0/0e/Timthumb.jpg[/t] *shudders*
Little Mac or bust
i wish they never put in snake and sonic fan requests were already bad enough when restricted to actual nintendo characters, with third-parties being a possibility they're full on retarded
i wish they never put in snake and sonic fan requests were already bad enough when restricted to actual nintendo characters, with third-parties being a possibility they're full on retarded
I kinda have to agree even though I love Snake and kinda like Sanic. Although the odd person would still ask for Goku and 'halo guy' every now and again.
and what if they had macho-man with a fishing pole riding on the sun, and the sun's got sunglasses and he goes, "i'm fishin' for a fight, brotha"
Trophies are coming back along with pic of the day! [t]http://i.imgur.com/fdbaG7w.jpg[/t]
Happy New Year! Pic of the day. There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games.
Edit: Sakurai left this comment on the current pic of the day
The new Super Smash Bros. games are expected to be released sometime in 2014. We're still working on beefing them up even more so please stay tuned.
Proof [t]http://i.imgur.com/gOFb0KR.png[/t]
I don't recall getting non gameplay screenshots before now. This is the first non-fight screenshot we'd had, isn't it?
I hope that the game is released at the end of the year so that they have more time to refine it.
All of this Pacman talk reminded me of this, when they were debating art direction for Pacman. RIP B, C, and D.
Wow, they picked literally the worst one.

RIP B, C, and D.
i love the pacman world games and D would've been fantastic. what the hell were they thinking man? in fact his final design is even worse than A.
At least if I don't get a PS4 this year for other titles, I'll have Smash Bros to look to unless it gets delayed then.
Steve?
What?
Sounds like the games are petty much done since they're working on just improvements now. I remember Sakurai saying there won't be an excessive adventure mode like subspace emissary. I always wondered if the single player pushed everything back for SSBB, thus having two (or was it three?) delays.
Pac-Man is a videogame icon of simplicity. He was a ball with a wedge missing, it doesn't get more simple than that.
And before that, he was a circle with a wedge missing. The one thing more simple, and pacman was already it.
I know it won't happen, but imagine a Wonderful 101 character that's like Olimar, except you control Wonder Red and instead of spawning Pikmin, you have the other main Wonderful Ones (Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow etc.) and you actually morph into your different Unites for attacks and OH MY GOD IT WOULD BE SIIIIIIICK At the very least, a Wonderful 101 Assist Trophy would be great.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/fdbaG7w.jpg[/t]

*sigh* totally not worth a week's wait. This is just an average one. Trophies were a given, although I liked trophies. I don't see why everyone else is satisfied with anything short of a character reval, but to each his own. The tenth is around the corner anyway...
Entitlement, ho!
and calling for Wonderful Ones would take a bit and only summon one at a time, and each Wonderful One boosts your B attacks
I'd imagine it a bit like Pokemon Trainer. Where when you call in a new Wonderful One, you get a new attack set. Like call in Blue, you get the Valiantium Blade. Call in Yellow and you get his rocket hammer. I guess it'd be more like Ice Climbers, unless you had them all follow you at once (which would be cooler and closer to the game, but may be tough for a Smash Bros. Game)
First time we've actually seen a menu screen or any actual UI elements aside from the new metallic damage meters back from E3. I wanna see the menus! I wanna see the menus!
I hope that the game is released at the end of the year so that they have more time to refine it.
I think Nintendo might actually try to push it for a fall release given how thin the Wii U's library is as of now.
I do not want that walking around my smash stages. At the most, I want it to be a collectable sticker or something.
Even wanting/tolerating that as a sticker is a bit... generous.
I was thinking the other day, could Smash get any new "game modes" ? We have Stock, Time and Coin each with it's team mode option, then you have custom brawl, which then just lets you mess around, but would new game modes work? Maybe something like survival, waves of alloys/wireframes/whatever flood the stage, last one standing wins? or a King of the Hill type style where you must defend a certain point on the map that changes after a while? What do you think? Could/should Smash get anything more?

Perhaps there could be a dodgeball mode where you have to hurl balls (or Bob-Ombs) at each other to do damage. Or a mode where you're falling through the air and can only use aerial attacks/specials. Maybe even a CTF-style mode where players have to obtain items from the other team's side of the map. There are just so many possibilities. I hope they do this and come up with a lot of great ideas.
Do any of you guys think Chibi-Robo will confirmed as another "Shocking" character that not too many people expected like Wii Fit Trainer?
Do any of you guys think Chibi-Robo will confirmed as another "Shocking" character that not too many people expected like Wii Fit Trainer?
I doubt it, but it would be kinda cool.

Not a character customizer, something like the Melee Debug Menu where you can edit nearly every little feature or effect so that you could make your own little game mode if that makes sense.
