I wonder what if they'll have something involving wonderful 101 in the game. I would love to see possibly at least an assist trophy.
Do any of you guys think Chibi-Robo will confirmed as another "Shocking" character that not too many people expected like Wii Fit Trainer?
As cool as Chibi Robo is, I honestly hope not. That would be pretty underwhelming imo
I always refer back to this video when I read this thread after a character is revealed:
or a King of the Hill type style where you must defend a certain point on the map that changes after a while?
What do you think? Could/should Smash get anything more?
Fights for Dragoon pieces make me that that a KotH gamemode would be done better as, like, whoever holds an item for the longest. I remember some FPS did a gamemode like that, but I can't remember what game.

I certainly hope assist as playable is unlikely.
Something with a pokeball style random perhaps; fist, sword, gun, whip yadda yadda
Am I a bad person for not liking Earthbound and for never playing Fire Emblem or Wonderful 101?

Kind of yes.
Well, to each his own as far as earthbound goes but Fire Emblems great and Wonderful 101 is videogame fun incarnate.

If you take away the charm of the world and story of EarthBound, you're just left with a very shitty, generic JRPG.
I don't care what modes we have as long as we finally have Stamina + Stock mode.
I was thinking the other day, could Smash get any new "game modes" ?
We have Stock, Time and Coin each with it's team mode option, then you have custom brawl, which then just lets you mess around, but would new game modes work? Maybe something like survival, waves of alloys/wireframes/whatever flood the stage, last one standing wins? or a King of the Hill type style where you must defend a certain point on the map that changes after a while?

Tbh, it wouldn't be worth the effort. It'd be too gimmicky in comparison. You'd play one or two rounds, and then everyone would be saying "alright, but can we go back to stock/time matches?" It might be fun for a bit, but ultimately, it'd be forgotten about. How many people here regularly played coin mode?

You may have a point.

And if you take away a person's legs they can't walk anymore.
what kind of a statement is that?

The story is what makes EarthBound, Earthbound.
if you take all the good aspects from something away, you are left with something bad
I guess I'm screwed. The only RPG I like is Dark Souls and I don't see me getting a Wii U.

That can be said of most rpgs at the time it was made.

i haven't really played wonderful 101 yet but i haven't enjoyed fire emblem awakening much at all. it's just not my kind of game and it's never easy for me to pick up on what i'm doing wrong. i think EVERYTHING comes down to preference, nobody is a "bad person" for having alternative tastes.

EarthBound is pretty overhyped (saying this as a fan of the game), Fire Emblem has been niche for most of it's lifetime until Awakening and W101 isn't everyone's cup of tear.
That can be said of most rpgs at the time it was made.
Chrono Trigger came out just short of a year after EarthBound (hell Chrono Trigger even came out in the states before EarthBound) and it's probably the only JRPG where I don't find the mechanics mind numbingly boring.
I love EarthBound, but purely only for its charm and aesthetic.

I actually think Mother 1 is the best in the series, Earthbound's style is what makes it so great but Mother 1 has that and a much better story.

Pic of the day. Zelda's strong side attack. It's a slash attack that utilizes her magic to make even a simple slash look sharp.

"Strong" is the official term for tilts, by the way. I've already seen people think it means smash attacks.

I feel like I'm the only one who read the manual for Melee and knows all of these names.
Ironically I think I found out how to do smash attacks by accident.

Honestly, if we were to get an unexpected robot character added to the roster I would much rather see custom robo.

This smash bros is going to be cross-platform compatible right?
No, they already confirmed this. The fact that they have different stages should've been a hint.

Well, there's always Wednesday to look forward to.
What if... Daisy and Waluigi both got in, as one sports centered tag team character. They switch places the same way as Pokemon trainer, and both use attacks mainly inspired from the sports games they've appeared in.
The look of that move looks more powerful and badass compared to the previous games. Every change to Zelda is giving me more hope for Ganondorf.
