I can't believe that they had Jennifer Hale doing the grunts and yells for Samus in Metroid Prime, but for the one game that Samus actually talks, they get someone who sounds like they had a lobotomy.
So they got Hale going femshep? Yeah, I said it!
Hell, I'd take that over cloney Ganon. Not ideal, but at least he would be his own character.
If 'dorf gets his own move set, the old one needs to be kept. I love it. Also would be a good excuse to get, like, Black Shadow or another F-Zero guy in there.
The characters seem to be a lot more expressive in general this time around. I like it.
Which raises a question, is the 3ds version going to have the same amount of detail when it comes to expressions and animation? Because the skeptic in me is saying "Hell no, its a handheld."
Things like that are making me lean more towards the WiiU...
I'd be up for Black Shadow replacing Ganondorf, and the wizard getting a mix of spells and sword moves. I'm also glad we have Ganondorf and not Ganon, making a non-cursed version of Ganon was the best thing the Zelda series ever did.
Well people are all "I'd like Toon Ganondorf because of his double swords."
While I do like the idea of Toon Ganondorf, what we learned with Zelda is that they can utilize moves that don't necessarily belong to that incarnation (r: Zelda's Phantom Armor attack, belonging to HER respective Toon incarnation).
So that said regular Ganondorf with double swords I think would be better, instead of all these clone-y melee attacks. Ganondorf is more of a sword and magic guy anyway.

They didn't, they got a professional stage actress then told her to do it completely flatly for some reason.

That's not even confirmed to be a move. Sakurai loves taking screenshots of neat looking "misleading" posing and placement.
I just ended up explaining one a few posts up.

We don't know if the phantom armor is one of Zelda's attack, for all we know it's an assist trophy
shucks
sorry bout thattun
We don't know if the phantom armor is one of Zelda's attack, for all we know it's an assist trophy
I'd bet money on that it's a move, revealing an assist trophy in that way when it could be a different move, would be pretty disappointing.
Yoshi's New Island comes out March 14, so that's probably when Yoshi will be confirmed. I hope so, anyway.
I always believed that Ganondorf could have his smash attacks be swords and his special attacks be magic.

Toon Link seems to have carried over his expressions to the 3DS version pretty well, so I'd say chances are good.

The shame of having someone hit your magic ball back to stun you.
Well, in 11 days it'll be the 15th anniversary of Super Smash Bros (For Japan at least). Anyone suspect we'll get something out of it like gameplay footage?
Speaking of Kirby, I really hope they rework his Final Smash to something a bit cooler. Cook Kirby looked awesome, but was highly underwhelming.
UFO Kirby? Canvas Curse Kirby?
Maybe have him ride the fairy from 64 and shoot from the screen's perspective.
i know it would be boring from a gameplay perspective but come on, where's crash kirby
im pretty sure an ability thats literally just "EVERYTHING FUCKING EXPLODES" qualifies as an ultimate attack, and the star rod's already an item
If Ganondorf does return I want a complete redesign. He's quite agile and often floaty in the games (except TP), why is he so heavy in Smash? He also should be able to throw some energy balls as a chargeable ranged attack. Also he should be able to do that ground pound thing (which breaks the ground in OOT). Final Smash should be a temporary controllable Ganon.
Ganondorf is one of my favourite Zelda characters and I feel like so far his inclusion has been a bit lazy.

Even though I know it wouldn't happen, I'd find it funny if he was able to whack back projectiles to have a game of elemental tennis.

The N64 Smash Bros. cartridge will be confirmed to return in this game.
[editline]10th January 2014[/editline]
Holy crap wait, what if they confirm HD N64 stages on that day? That'd be beautiful.

They really need to do what the Mario Kart games have been doing with bringing back all the old classic levels we love. I think they've been kinda missing the mark in what levels they bring back...

Maybe we will get Yoshi (since he is the only constant veteran who remains unannounced) or a mildly special game announcement from a pic of the day shoutout, but I doubt we get anything major though.
Maybe we'll get Master Hand on the Smash anniversary? Yoshi has his own game that he can be revealed on launch day with.
no guys i'm telling you they've gotta put smash brother in there, this is the perfect opportunity
no guys i'm telling you they've gotta put smash brother in there, this is the perfect opportunity
But then what about his twin brother, Smash Brother?
It's not Smash Bros. without the duo.
maybe they'll make melee and brawl into separate characters instead of both being Smash Brothers, i mean look at mario and luigi

But what about 64? He's the best Smash Brah
(kill me)
Who are "For WiiU" and "For 3DS" - are they new characters?
All characters will be for both systems, the only differences will be graphics (obviously) and stages.
I know, I was just following the joke that others were making about Smash Bros subtitles being characters.

...yes, joking. That's what we were doing. Of course.
