It's interesting seeing the size of a franchise and then the representation it gets; Advance Wars is incredibly old and has a ton of games but only gets an assist trophy, for instance.

There's Ridley (which I want as a character), but I always thought of him as an evil entity rather than a character. K Rool is a distinct character that has seniority since 1994 and has a lot to offer moveset wise. Plus does anyone know for sure if K Rool won't be a surprise villain in the next game? And the idea of Cranky Kong as a newcomer makes me nauseous...

I was kinda wondering if the OP could be updated below Brawl and over SSB4 to include info on Project M, considering its popularity in the Smash community and its use in tournament play.

Rool and the Kremlings were in the Returns games, because holy shit are the Tiki-mask things super uninteresting and look like they could have been Copy/pasted from any 90's platformer.

Ashley makes me wonder about some stuff. Maybe my theory of Rosalina + Luma being originally thought as Ashley + Red wasn't too far fetched. Why else would Sakurai add her as an assist trophy over Kat&Ana? Maybe Kat&Ana will be playable?
