You can switch between controlling the Luma alongside Rosalina or away from her.
Sakurai has left this this comment
"Today is the 15th Anniversary of the launch of the first Super Smash Bros. There may be some players out there who played it on the Nintendo 64 as kids that have grown into adults."

There may be some players out there who played it on the Nintendo 64 as kids that have grown into adults
Woah I never would've thought of that Thanks Sakurai
And so we all share a moment of sentiment and watery eyes.
Just yesterday I was getting nostalgic about Subspace Emissary. Hard to believe that even Brawl is going on six years ago now. And I still clearly remember first reading about the original in an old Game Informer.
That reminds me, why do we get FLUDD as Mario's down-B again.
Because the tornado is with Luigi now, who uses it better than Mario ever did. That being said, fuck Mario needs a new Down-B, the question is: what?
FLUDD would be fine if you could also use it like a water jetpack. You know, like how it was used in Super Mario Sunshine?
FLUDD would be fine if you could also use it like a water jetpack. You know, like how it was used in Super Mario Sunshine?
But That would likely take place of ^B or >B, I'll stick with VB being useless than one of the other two.
But That would likely take place of ^B or >B, I'll stick with VB being useless than one of the other two.
Or it could work like it normally does on land and act as a jump while in the air? Or it could just automatically add another jump that has a water effect if FLUDD is fully charged?
Who the hell even transforms between Sheik/Zelda during a match? I'd rather have them be separate characters with a new down + B.
shiek to zelda for recovery where you otherwise would have died? when I watched this live with my friends we were so fucking hyped omg

on the subject of Mario: We need him back to his melee self when he was a badass. He got nerfed so hard in Brawl in made me depressed, Mario was an amazing all-around character in Melee
I still don't know how FLUDD got past the design phase. It knocks back a tiny amount, and is super awkward to use.
Is this a joke
I'm sorry but what purpose did Sleep actually serve for Jigglypuff? I can't recall what it does in melee.
Get in the right spot in an enemy and sleep, and suddenly they are dead. [editline]21st January 2014[/editline] It wasn't as strong in Brawl as it was in Melee. I only know this because my brother used to main Jigglypuff and was too good at getting sleep on me.
Sleep is fucking crazy stronk if you manage to land it right. Although it's significantly less useful in fights with more than two people.
Unless you manage to make it so you hit both opponents with that. Loved doing that in the 51st event in Melee...
Jigglypuff with Sleep is how I cleared event 51 in melee

Was kinda sad for Leffen after the mistake death. You can really notice he was going through a lot of pressure and lost of momentum after it.
I never did understood how Sleep/Rest even worked, though- does she just sleep SO HARD the enemy gets thrown backwards?
People are blown away by how cute she is when she (it) falls asleep.
Apparently there's some kind of force that builds up and releases when Jiggs takes a snooze. If someone touches Jigglypuff when it sleeps, they get skyrocketed (or in Brawl's case, get a flower on their noggin). I'm just going off of Snakes Jigglypuff codec in Brawl.
I always thought this was a possibility. That, or it uses Sleep Talk to copy the effects of some sort of mind based move such as Psychic or Disable, which in the show, can send the opponent flying.
Nah, neither of those were a move yet when the original smash was out.
well then that just means they pulled something out of their posteriors to give jigglypuff a hard hitting move then which i love considering how fun jigglypuff is to play as
Hmm, I had figured it was some obscure move since I never played the Pokemon games much. Weird to see it was some original creation, but that's Sakurai for you, I guess.

But then a lot of Pokemon's portrayal in the Smash Bros seemed to use elements of the anime until Brawl.

But then a lot of Pokemon's portrayal in the Smash Bros seemed to use elements of the anime until Brawl.
Jigglypuff's sleep and singing shtick was only really tied to the anime. In the games, Jigglypuff was just just a little creampuff with no notable features or shticks. A lot of Pokemon at the time of N64 could learn Rest, and more notably Sing. Her, the Clefairy line, I'm pretty sure Chansey could. Lapras could even learn Sing. Maybe some others. If it wasn't for the anime's running gags Jigglypuff may have had a slightly differen't moveset. Who knows.
If it wasnt for the anime jigglypuff might not have even been in Smash, who knows
