I honestly felt that the Dojo ruined Brawl for me.
How can you be worn out on a game that you haven't played yet and have only seen screenshots and character/stage/item descriptions of
Because a big part of Smash Bros is finding out what content is in the game for yourself, and hearing rumors and finding out if they are true. Understandable for Brawl because it was the first time, and the internet was just becoming big enough so that we won't really have those experiences so as long as we willingly browse the internet and urge to find out more about the game before it releases. But now time's have changed so you may as well be used to it.
Hey there fellas, first post on the site. So, while we're unearthing Zelda screenshots and analyzing them (see: two pages ago), can someone explain to me why the Wii Fit Trainer is so small in this screenshot? If this image has been analyzed here before, I apologize - it's a massive thread. I'll admit it's been a while since I last played a Smash Bros. game, but I definitely don't remember mushrooms or the lightning bolt ever making characters that small. It also doesn't seem like she's far-off in the distance from being knocked-out. And obviously, though it almost seems like it, she can't be an animation in that particular stage's background. Am I being crazy or is the Wii Fit Trainer actually weirdly miniscule in that picture?
It's perspective, we're looking at a 2D stage from the side. Zelda is on the left side of the stage, Wii Trainer is on the right.

WFT is to the far right of Zelda on the stage, that's it. Not even worth speculating about. The bridge is obviously the fighting area.

Aaaah, I had the wrong perspective on the stage. Silly me. Thanks!
[t]http://i.imgur.com/8MlWinN.jpg[/t]
Pic of the day. There are many changes being made to attack and defense options for grabbing edges. In this picture, Link is actually trumping Mario's grab.
Sakurai has added this
Some other changes include: -Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge. -Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.
Alright hold on... So if you ledge grab for too long (Mario in this case), and someone else comes back after their up-B (Link in this case), Link will get to grab the ledge even if he was in helpless state and Mario was already there?
Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge
Does this mean you'll be invincible for a longer or shorter time when you're at 0%? Whatever this all means, I'm glad ledge guarding now has some depth to it rather than just doing it every time because it always worked in Melee.
Ledge guarding is gay as fuck
I didn't see this posted here, beware for potential spoilers: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=755954 I really hope this is real.
God I hope those are fake. Like we need more characters from franchises that are already adequately represented.
I'm gonna assume fake, because that first picture is so boring.
Not to mention there was that Ness + Jigglypuff fake. People can make mildly convincing fakes. Why would they show off that character instead of one with no 3D model?

The thing that really bugs me about these screens is that she's just standing there. If this is real and the leaker wanted to be convincing, he should've taken a shot of her jumping or attacking.
Even though Jigglypuff would be a cool returning character, I´d prefer Mewtwo and/or Pokemon Trainer any day.
Jiggs IS gonna return, jesus, there's no debate on this, it's pretty much confirmed. [editline]22nd January 2014[/editline]
-Air time and accumulated damage will determine your period of invincibility while hanging on an edge.
Good.
-Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.
Good.
- In this picture, Link is actually trumping Mario's grab.
Gay.
Gay.
It's so that you can't be an asshole and just sit yourself on a ledge to stop somebody from recovering.
Unless implented correctly, it's still fucking gay, edgegrabbing is one of the most important part of the game and if Sakurai nerfs it to useless levels the game will become a lot more boring as a result, lessening your chances for a quick gimp and the possibility to return the match around, as well as making matches longer due to you absoluely needing to put your enemy in high% territory to kill them. In short, nerfing edgegrabbing too much makes SSB closer to regular fighting games, and I don't think this is what we want.
-Grab controls will no longer be affected by whether you have above or below 100% damage.
I don't understand this...
Jiggs IS gonna return, jesus, there's no debate on this, it's pretty much confirmed.
I know she will return most likely. Same goes with others from the original 8, such as Ness and Captain Falcon. I´m just saying, I feel like people wouldn´t complain much if they did decide to cut her.
I don't understand this...
In all of the other Smash games, you have a weaker, slower ledge attack when your percentage is 100% or higher.

Just hanging yourself from the ledge to prevent them from grabbing it is an illogical cheap unintended exploit and I don't mind seeing it gone for the sake of more fair and fun battles.

I just want them to reveal a newcomer that actually gets me pumped for the game. Last time that happened was with the Villager :v:
That image is super old, I remember seeing it months ago.

Think of it like when someone is on the ground in boxing. It's not fair, sportsmanlike, or interesting when your opponent walks over to you while you're slobbering on the floor and completely helpless, grabs your head, and smashes your face in for a KO and possibly murder. Winning with a riskless action kills excitement. If you want to KO someone who's recovering, you should hit them with a meteor smash.
but that would only lead to predictable gameplay plus not every character has a meteor smash?
but that would only lead to predictable gameplay plus not every character has a meteor smash?
not every character has a good way to deal with ledge guarding, and just jumping down and grabbing the ledge every time you get someone off it is way more predictable
