I wish there's more alt costumes in this game like Wario dun got in Brawl.
I would love a Train Conductor and Lobster Pajamas costume for Toon Link.
Varia Suit, Fusion Suit, Phazon Suit.
Marth, Lucina.
Mario, Vacation Mario, Doctor Mario.
There are loads of possibilities.
Vacation Mario is the only Mario anyone needs and will ever need.
I get the feeling people would end up using the vacation outfit from Sunshine much more then his default.
if they add more sonic characters to this game i think ill take suicide
one was too much
More alternate costumes would be nice, but Wario is the only character so far who I think it's absolutely necessary for.
If any Pokemon with Mega Evolutions make it in, they should get the mega evolution as an alt. costume, rather than a final smash.
Mega Evolution doesn't really sound fun for a final smash, since it would just be a stronger version of the character, and we already have that with Wario and Bowser.

It would be cool if it was like a full on final form kind of deal with it's own attacks, instead of just being the same but stronger.
If Palutena turns out to be true, I suppose Pit's final smash will have to be Alfonzo. :v:
On a serious note, Great Sacred Treasure final smash anyone?

It would make sense if Mewtwo made a return, though.
I wouldn´t want to see another Lucario final smash, like they did in Project M.

The trouble with that is that since it's a timed thing, it'll be harder to get used to and practice those moves.

I doubt they will- third party characters a big deal to big with, after all.
Having said that, I would kill a man to play as Eggman/Robotnik (Eggnikrobotman?)

Provided that Mewtwo and Lucario were both in, they wouldn't have to have the same Final Smash, as Sakurai could probably find inspiration from other games/media for Mewtwo's final smash.
But having mega evolution for Mewtwo's final smash would be a bit weird, since he has two forms (X and Y), each with differing appearances and stats/resistances. They'd have to include both for those who like one form over another, and perhaps compromise them to have the same stats, so players don't have to worry about getting the form they are less good with.

I don't care what anyone says, the fact that I can finally have Mario and Sonic battle together and against each other is awesome. They've been icons since forever.
It's a non-issue anyway. Nintendo scarcely adds third party characters to their game and I see no cause for them to add more than one character for a third party franchise. That said I wouldn't mind some sort of Eggman boss fight.

maybe make it work like a near instant version of Zelda and Sheik's form changing
I fell out of keeping up with this thread for pretty much all of my winter break, any news on Little Mac?
Nope. Although Rosalina is the fourth newcomer, Zelda and Dedede are back, and a very convincing-looking leak states that Palutena is also a newcomer.
Speaking of newcomers, I wonder how many they'll be able to get in there. Brawl had 16 newcomers--do you guys think they'll come close to that number this time?

Welp, I recall a LONG time ago, they said that the first place they'd go for newcomers would be the assist trophies.
IMO, this pretty much confirms Little Mac. Maybe Isaac.
Then you've got the newcomers they've revealed so far (Rosalina, Mega Man, etc.), a few that could totally make it in (Wonder Red, Toon Zelda, Mewtwo, etc.), a few that would be surprising if they made it in (Banjo and Kazooie, Simon Belmont, etc.); add all that together, you'd probably have more or less the same size additions as Brawl.
I expect at the absolute most, ten newcomers. For whatever reason I keep feeling like we've got three more at best, which is why I fear for Little Mac and a Golden Sun rep.

I enjoyed this much more than I should've.
Yeah, for some reason I don't think this one will have as many newcomers as Melee or Brawl did. It's hard to place a tangible reason on as to why, but... I mean, let's see.
SSB64: +12 (12)
SSBM: +13 (+1 new alt form)
SSBB: -4, +14 (+3 new alt forms, and assuming Toon/Young Link as same slot)
I have to agree with Reds, I don't see SSB4 getting any more than ten at most, and I expect quite a few cuts. We probably won't push past forty, and the alt forms will probably remain countable on one hand. That's a generous estimate though, and I wouldn't be surprised if we actually had less characters than Brawl this time around and more around Melee's size. Currently we're at 21 revealed. Still no Yoshi (one of the original twelve, even) makes me think they're gonna trim out a lot of the secondary characters we haven't seen return yet.
If SmashU has as much content as Brawl or more, I don't care if we don't get a lot more newcomers.
Remember, Mewtwo got a signature move in B/W, Psystrike, which is PERFECT for a final smash.
Thing with newcomers is, they've got to stop somewhere or there will just be way too many, and it's too dangerous to cut a lot of characters. That character selection screen will be huge if there are 15 characters added each game, and chances are there won't be that much variety among the entire list. Brawl had what, 37 characters (39 if you want to count all of PKT's Pokemon), and I can't see them going over 45. So, according to that theory, if no one is cut, there will be between 5 and 10 newcomers this time around.

Would you play him?
No, but a Warioware styled Rhythm heaven stage would rock.

Personally I'd prefer that Wario's wacky representation were shifted over to a Rhythm Heaven representative. The character's roots are from his brute strength platforming and appearance in Mario spin-offs. WarioWare came much later in his lifespan, around the same time that the same development team started working on a new series which became known as Rhythm Heaven, despite the GBA installation never leaving Japan. Rhythm Heaven seems more based on things being over-the-top, similar to the WarioWare games, but on a fresh slate with characters that weren't already personified through antihero archetypes. If any character from RH were to be represented, it'd probably be either Karate Joe or the Wandering Samurai as both of them have been the most-recurring in the 3 games.
