considering how MGS3D sold like shit and basically made konami cancel any plans they had for MGS on the 3ds, i seriously doubt we're gonna see snake in smash again anytime soon
they were going to have a miiverse for it and everything, and they just cancelled it
the icing on the cake is that nintendo can't afford to advertise their competitor's games anymore, the wii did super well and could afford that kind of silliness but they're not gonna do it again
Honestly, Metal Gear Solid is my favorite series on the planet but I wouldn't mind if Snake can't be back.
He was a weak character in SSBB, he was super fun to be there because it's snake but the game would be great without him

Weak?
Snake's pretty damn good if you knew how to use his explosives right. He can deal some high damage with them. Plus his tilt attacks have low startup.
His moveset was really well put out, in the right hands some pretty great setups and combos could be made with it.
If Snake doesn´t return, I hope they bring back a similar moveset on someone else.

Haha what, people play him and do well in tournaments all the time
It feels just like the Gamecube Controller, though the Z button feels a little stiff. But it does feel significantly lighter and the buttons feels great.

Retrolink makes some pretty good controllers. They don't need drivers or an extra disk, just simply plug in and play. I remember seeing somewhere they made a Sega Mega Drive and Saturn controller for PC.

Retrolink stuff is notorious for being of poor build quality and breaking down quickly. Fair warning.

I'm not sure if you meant weak as in relative power level (where Snake is strong, in grand competition he's in the top five in all of Brawl and has lots of power and weight even in friendly matches), or in terms of characterization and interest and flavor (where he was so vastly different from most other characters that he was unique, though I kind of agree?).
I recently purchased one of these for Melee and my N64 games from Ebay.

Have you tried this controller with steam games, if so, how well do they work?

Didn't notice it was third party until I saw the custom logo and the usb plugin.
Must be pretty good, how does it feel on Dolphin ? I use the mayflash adapter with an official purple controller and it's pretty flawless.

It feels very nice with Dolphin but this controller doesn't allow you to hold down L and R buttons slightly for games like Super Mario Sunshine, ex, running and shooting water at the same time. Other than that it works perfectly for all the other games I have.
Have you tried this controller with steam games, if so, how well do they work?
I haven't tried that many Steam games with the Gamecube controller. However you'd need one of those programs that make your computer think your controller is an Xbox360 controller. I tried Unreal Tournament 3 and Dead Island but strangely the X button seems to work, the games think it's the A button on an Xbox controller.
Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress used the C-Stick for movement and none of the other buttons worked for me.
The hexagonal shape around the C and Analogue sticks is nice for driving games and side-scroll games like Metal Slug though.
In the final game, I hope we'll have a choice between the WVBA and the SSB versions of the boxing ring. Maybe make it like Mushroomy Kingdom, where the stage loads up differently when you hold down a button.
Is it too much to ask that I hope Lightning or Casino Palace becomes the new F-Zero stage?
Those are from GX, right? Considering how we haven't had any new F-Zero games to take level inspiration from, it's not too crazy.
The latest trailer is the first time we've been able to see the new damage gauges in motion with any sort of real quality, so I think I caught something we couldn't have known of yet: each character's series icon now has a subtle fire animation within it. Look at when they zoom in on Mac's gauge in the latest trailer to show off the Star Meter; it's especially noticeable when they fast-forward the gameplay as the meter fills. You can see it on the other two before they zoom in, as well.

Oh it doesn't have analog support for the triggers ? That's pretty bad then, I wouldn't pick one up. Both the mayflash and raphnet adapters have analog trigger support and they work flawlessly

You can also see that flame effect inside the logo getting faster (fast-forwarding), indicating that the Star meter seems to charge up quite a lot slower then shown in the trailer.
Meaning it's a VERY predictable move and it's your fault if you get caught by it. Also, I wonder if the cooldown from that charge punch is equal to the amount of meter you used.
You can see Mac doing a clench fist like movement after doing it in the trailer in the Wily stage with flames fading from it.
I'm really exited to try him out!
I think Waluigi still has a chance
I mean, Little Mac was once an assist trophy.

Actually, I may be very wrong about the power meter.
Check this analysis. The guy points out quite a few interesting things.

Ok now the OHKO move doesn't seem so OP. You have to hit constantly without ever being hit for such a luxury.
How long before no items, little mac only, boxing ring?

Here I was thinking that was obvious. Am I the only one who played Super Punch-Out?
I hope they bring in another punch out character as an assist trophy now, king hippo or somethin
Here I was thinking that was obvious. Am I the only one who played Super Punch-Out?
Yeah, seriously.
Actually, the SNES Super Punch-Out took a lot of cues from the original arcade games (which were called Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out, funnily enough) so it seems like Mac takes influences from every game in the series. Hell, the promotional art for him is perfect for showing this off; the double-screen cabinet is a reference to the arcade games, Mac himself only came into the picture starting with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and Donkey Kong was fightable in Punch-Out Wii. Mac is pretty much an arcade representative, on par with Mario and Donkey Kong.
And now the Miiverse is being flooded with people requesting their assist trophy be upgraded to playable.
"Little Mac got the upgrade treatment! now for shadow and grey fox!"
Seriously Miiverse?
And don't you dare start with Waluigi ;o
if you don't want lakitu or hammer bro or metroid playable you're dead to me

Why not just get a real one, and use a usb adapter? I have some N64 retrolink controllers, and while they're fine, I much prefer my real one, which I had fitted with a replacement, gamecube styled joystick.
