if they remove captain falcon in favor of palutena, pacman, or a fucking Mii, I think I'd break something.
Nobody from Melee or before who wasn't a clone is getting removed. [editline]22nd February 2014[/editline] Particularly an original cast character.
"Heroes always arrive late." never forget Up until now/Tonight's the night
And with Diddy's confirmation we are brought up to a total of 24 confirmed characters. The roster is shaping up nicely. (The Roster Maker didn't have updated icons for Little Mac or Diddy, which is why they look so out of place.) Now, just for fun, this is what the roster would look like if the E3 leak and the Palutena leak (the only two potential leaks that really have anything going for them at this point) both turned out to be true:
what is the appeal for pac man again
what is the appeal for pac man again
namco is assisting in the development which gives a plausible probability to one of their licenses to be in the game.
yeah but why pac man of all characters
I don't think people are particularly begging for him, but rather just expect him to show up for the sake of being a big figure in videogame history.
The only feasible way the words "Modern Pacman" and "appeal" can appear in the same sentence if is the words "doesn't have" are between them.
Klonoa pls, Namco
Klonoa pls, Namco
I'm down for this
pacman was speculated? guess i missed that. they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. but why don't we have bomber man yet?
I'd rather have 8-bit pacman than modern pacman. With no animations barring his opening and closing mouth. His attacks are literally just him suddenly moving left, right, up, and down to hit you. final smash is everyone turns blue and slows down and pacman's power goes up the end
If they include Pacman I hope to god they use this model of him.
Pac-Man would work best as a classic-looking Assist Trophy But I wouldn't moan if he was a playable character with his modern look. It's fucking PacMan. Getting such an iconic name in the game would never be a bad thing. If Lucario and Toon Link got in I really wouldn't worry about any veterans not returning, I'm not gonna dare moan about any new character. Anybody is good by me.
The only thing we are sure is that the original cast will be there. People are freaking out for nothing when it comes to the missing ones. I wouldn't mind Pac-Man to be playable or not, I'd be really surprised to see him actually. I mean, we'd get the big four in a match, each representative of a big company from back when they were all rivals on their own corner of the videogame world. If they do, I'd love to see some Namco assist trophies. Heck, even a few assists from Capcom, even if they are just from Megaman's universe. It's all up to Sakurai to decide, with the other companies approval of course. As for Pac-Man's design, I'd think they'd go with the retro design, just like they did for Megaman.
yeah but why pac man of all characters
Pacman fits best in the Smash Bros universe. The only other character I´d imagine get in would be a Tekken representative, after that Tagteam Tekken 2 Wii U edition game with all those Nintendo features, but still Pacman just seems more like a better choice.

They could add Dig Dug. Or fucking Katamari. Katamari would be the best assist trophy holy shit.
The thing is Pacman is just so iconic, not only in Namco´s library, but in video games in general. Both Gamers and people that don´t often play games have probably heard of Pacman before, same with icons like Super Mario and Street Fighter. Even though Dig Dug and Katamari are cool (especially Katamari), they aren´t nearly as popular as Pacman.
We're live streaming a Smash Brothers Tournament here on twitch if anyone is interested? Project M will come on later today http://www.twitch.tv/stockcancelgaming

It's only by comparing them side by side that we REALLY notice how visually boring Brawl looks today.

[editline]22nd February 2014[/editline] I'm amazed the 3DS one looks almost on par with Brawl in visuals.
It's come to my attention that making Smash4 on both Wii U and 3DS was a horrible decision. The 3DS is selling like hotcakes. The Wii U is selling like shit. Putting another Smash as just a Wii U game would increase sales of the Wii U exponentially. Now that it's also on the 3DS, along with the features mentioned like customization of character(s) on the 3DS, the Wii Us sold and copies on said Wii U sold will be drastically lower than they could've been. The Wii U needed a killer app, and by putting Smash on both the super successful handheld as well as the failing console, they've cemented that the Wii U probably won't recover.

(More pictures and video clips of the Wii U version being shown more than the 3DS version.)
People will buy the Wii U version because SSB is and always will be a game to be played with friends in the same room. Portability is nice but the true experience is on the Wii U.
I am getting both versions
People will buy the Wii U version because SSB is and always will be a game to be played with friends in the same room. Smash Bros may be a large franchise, but I don't think it would've been safe for them to make it exclusive to the Wii U, since not everyone would purchase a Wii U solely for Smash Bros as long as their friend has a copy, which would be bad for sales, where as on the 3DS, everyone needs a copy to play with friends.
I'm getting the Wii U version because I clack too hard My poor 3DS would break after a match
Namco has a shitton of franchises other than that though. They could add Dig Dug. Or fucking Katamari. [sp]Galaga[/sp] On topic I'm probably going to get the Wii U version and maybe the 3DS version at a later point of time
