If we're lucky, it will consist entirely of Sakurai beatboxing.
Well, that settles it, then.
At least the WVBA version isn't exclusive to when Mac is on the stage. I wouldn't have been overly pleased with that.
Cautiously and optimistically hoping for a third boxing ring design...

Bowser has a new pose. I like it.
[editline]25th February 2014[/editline]
It feels a lot more Mario and Luigi-ish.

It looks like it's actually pretty small. That or Kirby has gotten wider. Which is the thing that bothers me about the stages we've seen, they have that Brawl problem of being increasingly narrow.

Well, it's a boxing ring. Boxing=close-up fighting (or at least somewhat, in SSB). What he means is that the background of the stage creates the atmosphere of a stadium. Also, I don't think any of the other stages are that small.
There are also different people in the audience in both versions.
Could be the fact that the game traumatizes you within the first ten minutes and there's a scene with implied molestation of the ten year old protagonist by a transvestite fairy played for laughs
idk ive never played metal gear solid but it doesn't seem kid friendly
What.
Does anybody think that Punch-Out Ring will become the new Final Destination?
Does anybody think that Punch-Out Ring will become the new Final Destination?
Final Destination is the final destination of classic mode where you fight Master Hand.
High doubts that they'll cut the stage. Although it's very much surpassed it in media so far.
for Brawl they really marketed Battlefield as the new "standard" stage, and its neat background and visuals were good displays of the graphical power behind the game
they seem to be doing the same thing with 4, with the new and improved Battefield. am i wrong, or have we not seen final destination yet?
I hope Final Destination goes back to its Melee size. It was a little narrow in Brawl, I need room to breathe.
Every Smash game has had a Battlefield and a Final Destination (even if they were limited to 1P Mode stages in the N64 version) but it seems that the ring is being added as a third "standard" stage for this game - with the WVBA skin as an alternate because it's already as close as you can get to a Punch-Out!! stage.
The Boxing stage has walk-off sides, according to Mac's trailer. It probably won't be especially popular in comp play because of that.

I'm kinda hoping that the ropes surrounding the ring are rubbery to flying players, so if you hit someone really hard they'll ricochet off of them but if you just pass through normally then there's no resistance.
Won't really change anything but it'd be a neat addition to what is currently a flat stage with an elevated center plateau. The stage is visually pleasing, but as far as gameplay goes it seems to be as 2-dimensional as it gets.
Sakurai went out of his way to show (in a pic of the day) that you can jump off the ropes like a footstool jump, but said in the comment that you can't do a lariat from them. Here's hoping that he conveniently left his statement vague so we'd all be surprised when enemies knocked into them bounce off.

I think the ring will be a nice new high choice stage in tournaments, but I highly doubt it will be chosen more often compared to Final Destination or Battlefield.
I think being walk-out makes it automatically disqualified from comp play.
I hope the end of the match bonuses (for classic mode) return in Smash 4. Brawl was lacking them, which was a little disappointing to me.

This, any character with a chaingrab for instance would automatically dominate.
Comp bans stages based on whether they introduce too many random elements or if they cater too much to particular characters ie a stage might be very plain but if it has an area for a specific character to insta-kill someone, it's banned on principal.
A few stages actually do have elements that could be seen as 'random' like Melee Yoshi's Story, Randall the cloud has a predictable pattern but is often forgotten about so matches can be made or broken by his appearances.
I personally think Smashville is the most neutral stage.
Someone should host a Brawl tournament, then put in fine print that anybody who attends agrees to only play on 75m.

I still standby having an option akin to the music frequency in Brawl to toggle the frequency of stage events. That way if you enjoy having a fuckton of items and the stage trying to kill everyone you can, but if you want the polar opposite you're within your realm to do so.
