Given how many Sonic characters use the same bodytypes and movesets, I'm surprised there isn't at least one alternate costume that turns him into Metal Sonic or Shadow or something.

Bayonetta is pretty cool. I'm sure she would have a neat moveset and wouldn't look all that out of place. Her...assets might be a bit jarring compared to the Nintendo ladies, though.

That said, I don't think she has enough history with Nintendo to warrant being included. Sonic represents the war between Nintendo and Sega in the 90s, of course, and Mega Man represents a wildly popular series from the NES. Snake didn't have a whole lot of history with Nintendo either, but he at least had a few games on Nintendo consoles and more than two games in total.

Bayonetta's looks and style are clearly meant to be sexual. Zero Suit Samus's aren't. She wears a skin-tight suit, and when you tell me that it's for maneuverability and to work with the power suit, I can say "yeah, that works." Bayonetta, though? Clearly and explicitly sexual.

I think out of all the characters that were revealed for Brawl, I would imagine the Trainer took the most amount of time to get balanced. (He does have many combinations)

IMO, if we got Doomguy with a combo of Chainsaw (Melee), Rocket Launcher (Ranged Long), Minigun (Ranged Short) and BFG (Smash), he would work the same way in function. Not trying to suggest doomguy. Unless SSB4 turns into a M rated REAP AND TEAR fest of course.
