Most of Smash Bros's competitive scene is not looking forward to SSB4 because Sakurai "tricked them once with Brawl already."
Good Riddance then, that's like 2% of the player base anyway. I'm still laughing at their level edits done in Project M.
I just cant see this variation of "Wait for X it's gonna save the Wii U" working this time.
We got a new Mario and new Zeldas in development but it's still not selling well and third party devs still won't go near it with a 10 foot pole.
I love Nintendo, I grew up playing with a Gameboy, the Wii was the first 7th gen console I got, and I love playing on my 3DS. I was super excited for the Wii U as well, but it's lineup isn't as attention grabbing as their previous systems.
it's not going to die or fail anymore than other consoles this gen

Uh yeah that doesn't really matter? Obviously they won't do anything until they're actually released.

More Uprising stuff.
1. Sonic hold onto the fucking club jesus christ what is wrong with your hand, your other hand is clipping through your quills
2. This is like, what, the 4th Uprising weapon we've seen added (Guardian Orbitars, Upperdash Arm, X Bomb and now Ore Club)?
woah I forgot sonic was in this game
and now I just remembered mega man is in this game too
So...I guess Palutena is more than likely joining SSB4 at this rate with many KI:U content being shown?
I saw more posts then usual, I actually thought that there was a new character reveal.
God dammit guys.

i was about to say the same thing

Did you know that Mario was in this game too? It's amazing!
Why do so many people complain about clipping?
It's never going to be entirely avoidable, it's gonna happen one way or another. Is it really that terrible and nasty?
Besides, it's a game still a work in progress. There probably isn't a whole lot of visual polishing done. Some of you act like it's gonna be in the final product everywhere uglifying the game forever.
I'm not saying anyone's wrong or arguing, I'm just genuinely confused here.
2. This is like, what, the 4th Uprising weapon we've seen added (Guardian Orbitars, Upperdash Arm, X Bomb and now Ore Club)?
The first two are a part of Pit's moveset, not items.
Also hi Sonic, it's been a while.
This week is Brutal Items Week.
First the Blood Thirsty Cucco and now the Face Smashing Oreclub.
It's almost weird seeing that Sonic model after knowing that he's been 'redesigned' now
Yeah, but Sonic Boom is its own continuity. It didn't actually overwrite the current Sonic like Adventure did with the classic look.

As weird as Mario not being made of paper or Link not looking like he does in Skyward Sword

the competitive scene has kept smash games alive for so long you cant really disregard them in this way
the competitive scene has kept smash games alive for so long you cant really disregard them in this way
It's definitely helped, but I feel smash games would still be thriving without the competitive scene.
the competitive scene has kept smash games alive for so long you cant really disregard them in this way
Nah man Freshman year of college, beer, and the invention of Super Smashed Bros did that!

Smash is fun as hell and it's four player multiplayer.
What's with Facepunch's hate for competitive Smash ?
What's with Facepunch's hate for competitive Smash ?
Mostly because the competitive scene takes out every fun element from Smash and cutting down levels to boring simple designs.
-snip was dumb. sorry-
TBH, I find running laps around the opponent with everything under control more enjoyable than a random capsule blowing up in the middle of a decisive attack. More enjoyable, not the only alternative.
And please, complaining about how other people enjoy a game is quite low.
I like fighting others based on skill, not luck. Even as a casual player, I just don't like items that much.
However, that said, absolutely no one can deny the fun of 4-player Hyrule Castle with items set to high.
If you can't appreciate the technical, high level skill a game like melee offers, then you're really missing out. Though, I do wish 2v2 was more popular, but it's sadly not done for logistical reasoning.
I hate fighting games, which is why I love SSB
What's with Facepunch's hate for competitive Smash ?
A. I really don't understand the hype behind it.
B. While I don't mind that a competitive scene exists, a lot of competitive fans/players come off as such smug, insufferable fools that it ruins the whole thought for me.

I love fighting games which is why I love SSB :v:
Also, if it weren't for the competitive scene, hilarious and awesome stuff like this wouldn't happen nearly as often:

I love SSB which is why I love SSB
SSB is one of the only fighting games I play.
