Now, for more important matters:

Tom Nook as an unlockable second Animal Crossing rep. Yes or no?
Maybe in Smash Bros 5. But for now, I think the Villager is fine.
I see Nook more as an assist trophy...perhaps throwing bells or dumping houses on the stage? (I tried)
Apparently one of the developers doesn't like how people make Tom Nook out to be some kind of hard-ass gangster who breaks legs when he isn't paid on time, so they'd probably be against Tom Nook as a fighting game character.
Although if he was a fighter, one of his attacks has to include tanuki balls, or it would be disrespectful to the culture he's derived from.
I think it's because the competitive community has been incredibly toxic compared to other communities in the past, though it's not really any worse than other games now a days.
You know, I hear people say that, but I haven't really seen any toxicity coming explicitly from the competitive scene towards the wider playerbase. It's mostly people spewing the "fox only, no items, final destination" meme like that actually means anything.
If it's a simply a case of "filthy causals" elitism, then who really gives a fuck. Let the competitive players think highly of themselves, they're not really affecting your preference of play (they've even gone out of their way to make mods specifically for their type of play, literally removing themselves from affecting the casual players).

You can't ignore an obvious problem.
What do you mean by that?
Are you saying that having a competitive mindset is an "obvious problem"?
That's probably more elitist than anything than the competitive scene could say.
just like turn your head in another direction/close the browser window
let them play the game how they want to play it, you play it how you want to
I like Smash Bros for the same reasons I like TF2: they're both colorful, funny games, having characters with personality and distinct playstyles (minus the clones), in a game that's easy to pick up yet hard to master, and can be played for a few minutes or a few hours depending on what I'm in the mood for. There's various fun game modes, I can play alone or with friends, and there's so much content that I play the games years after their release because they're fun. I can play with a high skill oriented match or I can play with wacky settings on.
Basically, Smash, like TF2, has room for both casuals and pros. The two games are not without flaws, but these two games are without peers. No other games in their genre fill the role these games have filled. Plus, I've kind of grown up with them. I played Smash on my N64 at launch when I was in grammar/middle school, TF2 when I was in high school. I have many fond memories of these games throughout the years and I'm pumped for the new memories I can have with the next games in the series (or with TF2, the next update).
Midna a fighter? Maybe, just maybe.

Pic of the day. Oh, Uncle Andross. He really isn't very considerate.
Good to see that assist back, one of my favorites.
The thing that is weird is that Sakurai called him Uncle Andross. Is Andrew Oikonny going to be in the game in some way?

I think it was just an off-hand reference since Oikonny's whining is the extent of most people's memory of Assault.
He says that in SF64 as well when you shoot him down
please just come out already!
Pic of the day. Here's the Prism Tower stage for the 3DS version! The battle begins on ground level right in front of the tower.

You'll have to climb the tower by securing footholds like these moving platforms!
By the time you reach the top, the sun is already setting. The view from up there is quite a treat.

Hmm...judging by that shot, looks like it'll function like Delfino Plaza in Brawl.
(Also, nice to see Olimar after who knows how long hes been in a POTD last time)
Updated my post with all 3 pics of the day and the miiverse comments.
A climbing stage? Neat, I guess.

FUCK THIS SHIT IM MAD AS ALL HELL NOW
There's always Monday...
Ah who am I kidding this game is gonna suck, Nintendo is doomed, and I would totally cancel my preorder if they had those yet.
i am burning my wii u, 3ds, wii, dslite and nintendo 64 as we speak
no yoshi no buy
SMASHBRO FANS GETTING BLOWN THE FUCK OUT! Sucks to be you, anyone who wanted to play as any character not yet revealed!
Seriously though I've sort of dehyped myself a bit so I don't care nearly as much about each screenshot as I used to. It's kind of nice, as long as there's some interesting element in a screenshot it's a good one (there aren't enough edits in the world to make me not annoyed at yet-another-Rosalina-screenshot).
Personally I thought this was a good week; 2 new items, demonstration of a mechanic (outlines), assist trophy veteran and explanation of a stage we didn't know much about. Besides, I'm expecting a Nintendo Direct in April so I'm giving myself until May to be disappointed.
PSI guy are you gonna run your own gag into the ground? It's one thing to mock something that annoys you but what the hell man.
Don't worry guys I know they'll announce Master Chief tomorrow my friend told me so.

I'm kind of disappointed with what the Luminose city looks like it's turning out to be.
I always prefer stages that make some sort of sense with the background rather than floating platform taking you to different spots.
My favorite thing to do as Wario Man is smash an enemy up into the air, then just slowly clap levitate at them until they die
Wario's Up A is one of my favorite attacks in Smash
Wario's aerial up a is like a reverse meteor smash

I'd rather they take their time to polish it as much as possible instead of rushing because people want it so people can complain it was rushed.
I always killed people using my bike as Warioman. I can control that bullshit. So I'm going to use it.
And I always saved up my fart for it too.
