man i hope wario gets confirmed soon he was one of my favourite characters to play on brawl with a solid as hell moveset the bike being one of the best recovery manovers in the game pissed my brother off in so many matches
I always killed people using my bike as Warioman. I can control that bullshit. So I'm going to use it. And I always saved up my fart for it too.
I'm a bit split actually. Project M has made me have a ton of fun using the shoulder bash as his forward special, but at the same time I still had good times with the bike in vanilla Brawl. While the shoulder bash is more useful for general fighting, the bike is more useful for recoveries and projectile soaking. Although his recovery game being poor could be attributed to his poor up special. I personally prefer to always have a move ready-to-use instead of making sure I get rid of the bike once I'm done with it to ensure I have it available next time I want it. Although I'd have little to complain about if the bike stays when he's Wario Man with shoulder bash as his forward special when not Wario Man. High speed vehicular collisions has always been fun as is careening off the screen at mach 5.
I still wish they brought back the dojo.

Well I used it mostly for recovery, and that was a great deal of fun in itself. People really seem to hate the bike. It's not that hard to avoid or stop mid tracks. Sonic running back and forth using his dashing attack posed more of an immediate threat than that thing. Unless Warioman, in which case it's hilarious. That, or people hated his amazing recovery capabilities with it. If they got rid of it in M, did they at least boost his Corkscrew?
They gave it more horizontal maneuverability at the cost of it going vertical a bit less.
That's like, next to no recovery though.
I feel like the only one who didn't like playing Wario :c
You've missed out tons of fun.
Wario is one of my worse characters, yet I seem to have a ton of trouble whenever I have to fight against him. He's still a cool character, though.
I still miss Wario as a treasure hunter instead of being a game designer...
I don't feel as though not playing with a character is "missing out". Wario doesn't suit my style, like, at all.
I would give anything for a Wario Land inspired Wario. Whether it replaced his current moveset or was added as a separate fighter. His Brawl moveset just feels like Sakurai tried too hard to make up things for a character who didn't need a moveset to be made up out of thin air. Not to mention he's depicted in the SSE as actually villainous and not just in it for his greed and he fucking farts as an attack.
and he fucking farts as an attack.
wheres the problem
because now that's what people think when they see wario, just as samus is "that hot blonde chick in the blue skin tight suit" and ike is "that guy who fights for his friends" it's incredibly annoying as an actual fan of those characters to see how they're depicted
lol Wario was depicted as a horrible human-being even before Brawl, what are you trying to prove here?
But Wario in Brawl was really accurate to how he is/was in Warioware?
because now that's what people think when they see wario, just as samus is "that hot blonde chick in the blue skin tight suit" and ike is "that guy who fights for his friends" it's incredibly annoying as an actual fan of those characters to see how they're depicted
I fear to see how Ridley will be depicted (If he actually joins in) & how the fans will react to it.
because now that's what people think when they see wario, just as samus is "that hot blonde chick in the blue skin tight suit" and ike is "that guy who fights for his friends" it's incredibly annoying as an actual fan of those characters to see how they're depicted
??? Wario has ALWAYS been a "money grubbing asshole", in WarioLand, World, Ware, pretty much every game he's ever been in. Just because he's also a biker capitalizing on microgames who relies on crude humor in addition to someone who beats up baddies for cash doesn't mean people don't see him like that anymore. In fact it's moreso the opposite. Yes, his recent light has been shining on his biker capitalist persona, but he's still Wario, the guy who goes on life-threatening adventures for some pocket change. Don't try to impose one of these things on him over the other. He's both of these things. Would I like more Wario Land stuff in his moveset? His headbutt dash? His ground pound? His Shake-It quake ability? Of course. But it won't bother me if he doesn't. Wario is still cool no matter what they throw at him.
I agree with PSI Guy, I wish they'd focus more Wario's strong-fat abilities and just how tough he is in general instead of the weird route they went for Brawl. I know Warioware is a far more popular series in Japan than the traditional Wario games. But man it'd be way better to have Wario pile driving people and punching the coins out of them. They could at least give him his proper shoulder charge, it always bugged me how pathetic the reach of it is in Brawl. His downsmash wasn't very good either seeing as it only strikes once but you still have to go through the entire animation, way too easy to get your shit pushed in doing that. I think the fart is alright, better as an extra recovery move though, it's pretty hilarious if you manage to catch someone off guard with it and manage to KO them though.
I´d laugh if Wario gets revealed while we are still on the topic of Wario.
I'd laugh if Wario doesn't get revealed.
wario never tried to in-universe kill children, in wario ware he's just lazy and wants to make money by entrepreneurship, in wario land he's willing to go to all efforts for money but in both of those he either never fights anyone or fights people who are worse then he is they pretty much made him a terrible person instead of a greedy jerk. there's a difference between "i'll beat up these bad people to take their money" and "i'll work for the worst force in the universe for power"
To be fair, he really only seemed like a super terrible person in SSE. The story was kind of a mess all around and really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of Smash. I think his personality during regular brawls was okay, at least.
I feel I should point out that I do like the 'Ware games, it's just the near absence of anything from his games other than 'Ware that really annoys me. I loved Wario Land II when I had a GBC and it was pretty much THE game that made Wario relevant to me as a character. I liked 'Ware because I liked 'Land, so eshewing the 'Land stuff just didn't gel with me. Although SSE was definitely all over the place, character depictions included. I liked the Dojo blogpost where Sakurai admitted they had to cut some scenes that would've explained a bunch of stuff people were confused with.
Let's forget Wario was not only a greedy fat ass, he was also a damn psycho! And I love these commercials! Wario Hypnosis final smash when? "Obey Wario, destroy [character name]!" Everyone attacks that character.
Let's forget Wario was not only a greedy fat ass, he was also a damn psycho! And I love these commercials! ~Whoa~
Wario making out with a explosive bomb? Now I've seen everything...
Wario making out with a explosive bomb? Now I've seen everything...
Don't talk shit about Wario's bombshell girl. She might have a short fuse, but her body is bangin'. Man I wonder if anyone at Nintendo has even bothered considering Bomberman as an fighter. Considering that his company was consumed by Konami and he's now in a very special kind of limbo as for whether he'll get new games or not...
PSI Guy, I can safely conclude from the Wii U and this thread that you're taking these things way too seriously. Also I do hope we get a more Wario Land oriented Wario, but Japan likes Warioware so that's what we get.
Japan prefers wario ware, dislikes Metroid, and they never want to share their fucking Goemon games with us. It all sucks. Also on the subject, Goemon would be an awesome Konami rep if they ever did such a thing again.
Man I wonder if anyone at Nintendo has even bothered considering Bomberman as an fighter.
This statement cracks me up because I've never been able to disassociate Bomberman with "TIME FOR A FUCKING DIRTNAP, YOU SHITFUCK"
