To be fair, Pikachu's Thunder is now the longest-ranged Meteor Smash currently available. Now you can jump off the platform edge, use Thunder, retreat, and basically create a wall of Meteor Smash.

When Pikachu is on the stage, the air is basically off limits incase you get taken out by that stupid thunder
