Fox McCloud with raccoon tails & ears...
Wait, how'd that work?
Size 'em up and put them over his existing ears/tail. The tail can probably even share bones.
I wonder how far custom movesets are gonna go
I'm totally gonna give Luigi the Thunderhand from M&L:Superstar Saga.
Since I like tough grapple characters in fighting games, I might give Bowser or Charizard tons of flinch resistance and throw power to simulate that.
I really hope with the custom move-sets that I can give Mario his tornado-spin back.
edit;

Tails confirmed for Smash 4.

He becomes a kitsune, I guess.
I hope each character gets at least 2 or 3 varients of each of their special attacks, it's already confirmed Mario's got three: His normal fireball, the fatball, and the small straight flying fireball.
This is one feature that has me insanely hyped
I'd be more excited if it had more application. I mean I can understand restricting it in For Glory mode, but why in For Fun?
Moveset customization is interesting. A shame it's limited to offline, apparently. I would like to see a gamemode set aside from Fun or Glory as "Custom."
I'm thinking that Greninja probably fills a slot where Snake was in Brawl, given the appearance of his moveset as as an agile character with a lot of technical moves differing projectiles.
Out of all the Brawl entries, we're missing Snake (who I don't think is coming back), Wario, and Meta Knight. I really hope Meta Knight comes back, in a new (balanced) form. Given how the team is giving balance its fair share of attention and including an official competitive mode it would be real nice to see MK fill out the Kirby roster.

Because someone somewhere will minmax it, find the objectively best build and suck the fun out of "For Fun" mode by metagaming the shit out of it.
No thanks. I'd rather Smash stays as far away from minmax meta as possible. It's already consumed Pokemon.

No thanks. I'd rather this doesn't become Pokemon.
People can already do that with the fighters themselves; allowing players to customise their movesets is hardly going to have that great an impact.
It's not just the moves you can change, it's also your power, agility, attack speed, and damage recoil (from what I can tell)
If you let people tweak these, there WILL be a "this is the best way to kit this character" meta which will consume the game. Pokemon is absolute proof of this.
[editline]t[/editline]
I like the idea, I like it a lot (and will use it excessively), I'm just glad it isn't online.

Hmm. I didn't see any of that myself, though if that is the case I'm not sure I like the mechanic as a whole. Movesets is one thing, stats are another.
So since Summer 2014 will be the 3DS release...we got at least 2 more months for at least 2 newcomer reveals. (Hopefully there will be hidden newcomers as well)

Wait, where did you get this from?
They only showed different special moves, like the different fireballs mario was using.
Custom movesets seem to deal with what Sakurai was saying about customization being more about 'functionality' rather then just damage etc. Mario's faster fireballs are weaker, Mario's fat fireball deals more hits but are slower etc. They're trade-offs, not upgrades.
It should be fun for messing around, especially if everyone agrees to make their characters super intense and fast.
I dunno what to think about the 3DS version getting released early.
On one hand, it's a smart move. It's clear that the WiiU version is going to sell consoles; anyone who REALLY cares about Smash isn't going to just settle for the 3DS version. The only people who'd buy the 3DS one over the console one are either HUGE casuals (a minority, since someone that casual likely wouldn't be interested in Smash anyways) or people buying both (like myself).
This ensures that the 3DS version is going to sell.
ON THE OTHER HAND, the WiiU is the platform that really needs help. 3DS is golden, it's selling incredibly well. WiiU is the one that needs to force people to buy it in order to play Smash.
I'm happy, since I'll be getting Smash earlier than anticipated (SOMETIME WITHIN THE NEXT FOUR MONTHS, HOLY SHIT), but also a little sad since Smash'll provide less of a boost to the WiiU's sales than I had hoped.
But then again, it's not like they won't sell ANY WiiUs once the console one comes out (and in time for Christmas? Sweet Jesus). Not to mention we've got Bayonetta 2 and a new Pokemon Stadium-esque coming out, the WiiU's luck is about to take a turn for the better, I think.
Got back from college and watched the Direct.
Holy shit the Charizard+Greninja trailer gave me fucking goosebumps.

As a huge fan of Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out (Arcade) I love this
I was looking at Little Mac's page earlier before the direct and noticed he had this same Punch-Out! style camera angle in the shot against DK, too, but here it was actually in the footage. I wonder if that's just stylistic stuff they're doing with camera angles and dodges, or if it's actually in the game somehow?

Also Lucas, R.O.B, Wolf and Ike (also Pokemon Trainer but he's been pretty much deconfirmed)
Ness, Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff still absent from the original 12 and Ganondorf, Ice Climbers, Falco and Mr. Game and Watch (as well as Dr. Mario, Young Link, Pichu, Roy and Mewtwo but they were already cut once) still absent from the Melee lineup.
There's probably going to be a few cuts, but I can see them keeping it minimal.

Maybe they disabled camera rotation constraints while paused, and in training mode if you move the camera while paused and then resume, the camera stays the same (so you can get a better view of your reach and arcs and such)
You know what would be a way better final Smash for Mac?
Once used, if it connects with an opponent, the screen transforms into an 8-bit rendition of the first Punch-Out. Mac and the person it connects with are in the ring while the other opponents (if any) are on the sidelines. Everyone has their own sprite during this, and it just lets you whail on your opponent ala old school Punch-Out with either A and B, or 1 and 2, or just spazzing with the Wiimote + Nunchuk. Depending on how good you do (it could be timing based) you'd do more damage.

As long as R.O.B and Mr.G&W are still in, I'll be happy.

I'd say that Smash bros has one of the most 'casual' audiences of the fighting game genre, but even ignoring that a lot of people don't own a WiiU yet and don't have a whole lot of money to throw away, so buying smash for the WiiU when you've already got it for 3DS isn't the most logical move.
I, for example, would love to get both versions, but I have a 3DS and a limited budget so I will happily stick with the 3DS release.
Charizard's back! But she doesn't have a trainer anymore. I wonder what happened to him >:3
What does Eevee even do as a pokemon? I couldn't really tell but it just looked like it slid around and lightly bumped into dudes. I don't even remember if it was properly animated.

That Charizard is totally a dude, bro. Don't kid yourself.

Looks like either Feint (wanders up casually and then suddenly attacks) or Covet (approaches unassumingly and steals an item)
Rewatching it Villagers final smash better be upgraded- it looks absolutely terrible outside of being funny, Mario barely flies off the edge after being hit with it.
