What about all those other alien bounty hunters from that one DS game?
Those would seem more like rivals than enemies to me (I have no clue what game "that one DS game" is btw), and Ridley seems like he'd be much more well known.
I'm assuming Metroid Prime: Hunters?
Do you guys think it'd be cool if we threw in our predictions for full rosters? I know it's a little early but it's fun to do and I'd love to see what you guys think

Didn't Miyamoto confirm that the next roster's not going to be much bigger than the Brawl one?
I would say like 2 or 3 new fighters, you've got to have something new besides new mechanics and tweaks.
Didn't Miyamoto confirm that the next roster's not going to be much bigger than the Brawl one?
I sincerely hope not. Part of the enormous allure of a new Smash Bros. game is the prospect of a good number of new characters. From SSB to SSBM we got 14 more, and from Melee to Brawl we got 11. We should still get like 9.

They have to stop at some point.
I'm sure there'll be at least one new pokemon in the roster. There's too many of them not to.
I still want a Megaman character in there I don't even care if it's just an assist trophy or a trophy or a sticker or whatever Though, with current talks playing as Ridley sounds fun, currently Samus is the only Metroid character playable and that's a bit silly since every other franchise has more than one by now, mostly anyways
Maybe Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton? They both have a somewhat decent fanbase. How do you incorporate a Lawyer into a fighting game? Well Marvel vs. Capcom 3 pulled it off...
I'm sure there'll be at least one new pokemon in the roster. There's too many of them not to.
it better be trubbish !!!!
it better be trubbish !!!!
No. [t]http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/upload/d/d4/552Krokorok.png[/t]
In my opinion they should bring back the characters that didn't make it to Brawl that were in Melee. As far as I know they were actually meant to be in Brawl but were cut, according to Did You Know Gaming. Pichu is speculated to be the Pikachu that's in Brawl. It's possible that Plusle and Minun were planned to be a Ice Climber-like duo as well. That's something I think would be interesting to see. I also hope Sonic and Snake stay, but it's understandable if they don't because they're guest characters.
The only character I'd bet on being in the next one is Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening. It seems like they always make the Fire Emblem characters Marth, and whoever the protagonist was of the most recently released game.
My guess is that Saki from Sin and Punishment will be a shoe-in since Sakurai seems to lament that he couldn't make him playable on his assist trophy page.

I hope Waluigi is a playable character. Wario and Waluigi dream team.
Honestly I would rather have Lucina or Lyn (she was an assist trophy in Brawl), as a new Fire Emblem character.
Lyn modeled after the Fire Emblem: Awakening Swordmaster would be a stretch, but hell yes that would be amazing. I wonder if they'll keep Final Smashes or even add new ones for each character or maybe multiple ones.
Lyn modeled after the Fire Emblem: Awakening Swordmaster would be a stretch, but hell yes that would be amazing. Also, Super Sword for Kirby. It has to happen.
Some of the final Smashes should be redone. We don't need 3 characters who all have the Landmaster.
I wonder if they'll keep Final Smashes or even add new ones for each character or maybe multiple ones.
With each game in the series introducing something new to the table, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to add more on top of it. The original introduced the entire concept. Melee introduced a formal story mode, lots of stadium events, tournament mode, side B moves, dodges, and a host of new characters. Brawl introduced a much more fleshed-out story mode, more stadium events, controller customization, final smashes, even more characters, level customization, and online play. It's down to speculation as to what they could add on top of that for the next one.
Melee introduced a formal story mode.
I wouldn't really call it a story mode when it doesn't really have much of a story to it. If anything, Melee introduced a formal adventure mode in which you traveled long distances and defeat many enemies along the way.
The Wii U needs this game. I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried about the consoles future, to the point where I regret purchasing it. I can see that Nintendo is getting desperate about sales ( All the shoddy ads, the messages to wii users telling them to buy the wii u ). The Wii U just needs a system seller. Hopefully it hasn't gone to far down the same road as the ps vita.
A console can't be successful just from a few hot exclusives, especially when they are late down the line. It needs a good start and a good roster of games, which the Wii-U completely failed on. So yeah, I mean I am glad that you are at least going to be able to play smash bros and pikmen down the line, but I wouldn't want to invest that kind of money for just a few good Nintendo games.
honestly im expecting ssb4 to be the villain game considering how many protagonists we already have bowser jr, king k rool, vaati, ridley, dark samus, black shadow, masked man, someone from fire emblem, knuckles or shadow if rivals count and sega's cool thats on top of newish protags and new smaller franchises that havent been included yet and third parties so probably something like mario/luigi/bowser/peach/bowser jr link/zelda/ganondorf/toon link/vaati donkey kong/diddy kong/k rool yoshi wario samus/zero suit samus/ridley/dark samus pit ice climbers rob kirby/meta knight/dedede olimar fox/falco/wolf/krystal captain falcon/black shadow pikachu/charizard+ivysaur+squirtle/lucario/jigglypuff/mewtwo marth/ike/chrom ness/lucas/masked man mr game and watch a ray model (custom robo) saki (sin and punishment) isaac or newisaac/villain or rival (golden sun) little mac (punch out) tom nook or player character (animal crossing) shulk (xenoblade) andy (advance wars) dillon (rolling western) as for third parties there's knuckles, megaman, ryu, any of the old final fantasy protags, bomberman, rayman, etc also theres potential wario-style costume changes, eg mario > dr mario, pikachu > pichu, marth > roy, toon link > young link, peach > daisy, sonic > shadow, mewtwo > newtwo, pit > pittoo, the ray models, bowser > dry bowser, etc, preferably with unique voices, palette options and visual effects but the same movesets obviously some are more likely than others but off the top of my head thats probably the best-case scenario roster give or take a few
I always wanted to see Rayman in a Smash Bros game personally. And the next Smash Brothers better have an extended costume system.
Those would seem more like rivals than enemies to me (I have no clue what game "that one DS game" is btw), and Ridley seems like he'd be much more well known.
Sylux, Trace, Noxus, Kanden, Spire, and Weavel. Then there's also Metroid Prime 3's hunters, Ghor, Gandrayda, and Rundas. [editline]2nd May 2013[/editline] who am ridley

Especially in stamina mode. :v: I think the crowd in that Melee reveal video was freaking out about Samus, not Ridley. They do that again later when the video gets to the Samus shenanigans montage.
