Man I really should of played brawl more.
I didn't play much of it because Subspace burned me out super hardcore and online was (literally) a slideshow. (I had one match where it took a full minute for meta knight to complete a taunt, no joke).

Also it seems like the homerun bat got sped up a bit, good thing too, that wind up was so absurdly long in Brawl it just wasn't worth it.

I just swung it around randomly and hoped the dumb AIs walked into it. Trying to actually time it was too tough. This speedup is definitely a good change.

My only problem with project M is now I can't get anywhere near my friend who plays Link, his sword is ridiculous, especially now it's got that rapid jab back
I really wanted Hawlucha as a fighter. I might still have a chance, but doubt it.

Link has a lot of range in project M, but he also isn't very fast compared to your game & watch, use lots of grabs and keep the pressure on when you have the chance so he can't hit back.
or just spam his neutral special at a distance, that works sometimes too

I really really doubt Hawlucha would be anything other then assist trophey tier. Maybe I missed something but I keep seeing people say "dang where's hawlucha!" and I have no idea why.
Don't get me wrong wrestlebird is awesome but it has nothing going for it where Greninja at least is the most popular starter for Gen 6
(Nothing going for it story wise I mean, it's got a cool ass design going for it)

Brawl in my experience, was a lot less skill based and a lot more floating around a map button mashing so I don't know how you'll take that. My main hopes for this new game are Nintendo making it feel and play a lot more like Melee which was the best imo.
So 3DS has that Tomodachi Collection stage that I know a ton of people will be clueless on, thankfully(?) Nintendo put out a direct covering it. I don't think very highly of the series but hey- if you're curious!

Which is a great way to redeem the old design while mixing a bit with the latest one. Like they did with Link. I didn't hear anyone complain about it. They used a really weird design choice from Other M and made it practical to her more popular design.
I guess people like to find ways to complain about everything.
Also, her new Up-B does a combo when it connects to an opponent which looks amazing compared to the old boring whip.
Did they mention anything about her Down-B? I wonder if they will keep it...
It's the same design, just with more stuff added onto it. She looks just as bad as before, the character is just looks more fun to play this time.

Once I'm up in the air, I'm fucked, I rarely get a chance to land
also does anybody else have trouble grabbing the edge of the stage on PM? I can literally jump and slide all the way up and past it without grabbing it, and often I die because I don't grab it

Are you fastfalling ? it prevents edge grabs.
You need to be facing the right direction too, you can't grab from the back like in Brawl.
Aboute Link, get him up in the air, he has a harder time than you to recover on the ground. If you end up above him, bait an upsmash with a well timed airdodge or second jump and punish.
