Any potentially cut characters could make a triumphant return, too. I wouldn't mind it at all.
I wonder if there will ever be DLC for these games down the line, like PSASBR. A few extra characters not originally in the roster added later...
Kinda doubtful at this point with Sakurai giving the competitive community attention.
I wouldn't like DLC in the form of fighters, although stages I wouldn't mind. I'm more looking forward to patches being able to finally do things like tweak down a Metaknight situation instead of just the game being left as is.
Alright! Let me just calculate how long it will take, based on my current salary of $0.
1 day of begging for money clearly
Haha for glory mode is on timed mode and not stock.
I expect around 10 characters to not be announced like in Brawl...and maybe up to 5 cuts like from Melee to Brawl (Roy, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Mewtwo, Young Link)
I think its safe to assume we lost Squirtle & Ivysaur
Remember, all of those cuts except mewtwo were lazy clones, and all of those cuts except Dr. Mario and Pichu were replaced.

I'm trying to go to smashmods.com to see what Brawl Minus Max is but I'm getting this
Warning: require(/home/ghneko/public_html/smashmods.com/forum/global.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ghneko/public_html/smashmods.com/index.php on line 5

Anyone else getting that?

it has its own forum, http://forums.brawlminus.tk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=47
dolphin install needs u to make a melded iso of the files in the mod replacing the ones in the brawl iso, btw

To this day clones are still a volatile topic for Smash Bros. Young Link was a better Link with a wall jump, Falco and Wolf have their own differences from Fox with the latter being rather unique still, Pichu was Pikachu as a weakened joke character, etc. Since Toon Link made it back simply because his game was relevant, it's a rather ambiguous line between what justifies a clone creation/return and where they should be dropped for being a clone to begin with.
I don't think Squirtle and Ivysaur will return, simply because that CG trailer was the perfect opportunity for all of them at once due to being part of the same character previously. But it'd just overbloat the Pokemon selection over even the Mario roster if they were all separately included.

No this is a bad thing guys. That's means the hardcore players will flock to For Fun instead.
F-Zero Maximum Velocity is now on the WiiU Virtual Console, it must be a sign.

But that has items on. They'll probably just not go online at all like with Brawl, and For Glory will be a wasteland.
Kinda doubtful at this point with Sakurai giving the competitive community attention.
Well they created For Glory mode, that's at least acknowledging them.
Though I'm not sure what the competitive community in particular has to do with DLC in the first place.
I don't know if I brought this up before, but I love how Jungle Japes and Halberd were both confirmed. That means we're going to get Melee and Brawl stages this time around, possibly even a couple from Smash 64. I wonder if Melee stages will be exclusive to the 3DS and Brawl stages exclusive to the Wii U. Looks like we'll just have to find out later.
Heres soemthing that I thought might not happen...but it could.
Jigglypuff getting cut & not returning.
What do you guys think?

She's a veteran from the original game and there's no way any of them are getting cut.
The only reason Luigi (one of the four original unlockables) was revealed was because of what last year was.
The other three (Ness, Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff) are fine, just as they always have been. Chill out.
Now what about Snake?
Snake was a case of Kojima asking Sakurai to include him, wasn't it? I don't think he'll return, his 'slot' (as if they could ever be considered reserved) would probably go towards a Namco exec.
Snake seems to have been split functionally between Greninja (many of their A combos are very similar) and Shiek (the new grenade and tweaked air game)
Also, Greninja's final smash is absolutely the move Acrobatics, which it can learn in X/Y and the animation there looks nearly the same.
I am so so so so so excited for the kirby air ride style gamemode. Beyond hype. Aaaaah

You'd think with all that money he has, Wario would buy a suit that fits.
Also the idea of a space pirate tailor for Ridley cracks me up

Jigglypuff is a big deal in Japan, which is probably why she's in the game to begin with. She'll definitely return.
Pretty sure Jiggly, Ness and the Cap'n are all chilling with a cocktail in hand in the backstage room, waiting to get revealed while the other potential returning and new characters are all freaking out and nervous, wondering if they will be picked.

Gotta spend it on that garlic :v:

The way he worded it implied that there was no interest in a second Air Ride game though.
I know he's not working at HAL anymore, but the wording still gave me that sort of impression and it made me sad. I'd be stoked to have an Air Ride on my 3ds in-between sessions of smash bros.

Don't see why people think it's absolutely safe considering it's seemingly late inclusion in Brawl as a Vet (not only in SSE but the Internal Ordering IIRC it was after Brawl newcomers) which makes me think it wasn't considered a "100% must be in" character and not highly prioritised. With this said though, Brawl Jiggly was at least higher prioritised than Mewtwo and the rest of the unfinished characters looking by who at least made it in the end, but I wonder if that is still the case.
I really want Wonder Red.
Now that Nintendo and Platinum are all buddy-buddy (at least as far as W101 and Bayo go), Red could make for a good rep that is more "age appropriate" for Smash.
I really don't want Pac Man though. He's got next to nothing to do with Nintendo. He wouldn't even be on the table if Namco weren't involved in Smash's production this time around. Hell, I'd take Dig Dug over Pac Man, at least he'd have some interesting moves and a not-terrible design.
Wonder Red's game isn't even 3 years old. The last youngest games to be represented in Smash were Pikmin in Brawl and Wii Fit in 4, which both were around a console generation old when they were revealed.
I do think he could be fun to play, but I'd say he's more likely for the next Smash, and I'd prefer to keep the new-game advertising angle restricted to Fire Emblem and Pokemon (and even then I'd prefer for the newcomer FE/Pokemon characters to not be whoever they need to advertise to sell games, but them's the breaks). I also think this applies to Bayonetta, since she doesn't have any history on Nintendo consoles.
