From what it sounds like Snake has high demand too.
Now he probably does. Back then he probably had 1/4 of the demand Mega Man got.
And besides, he had a pretty unique style of combat going on. Why would you remove such a unique character? (Aside copyright issues)
Hell, he could add Ridley
yknow with the 3DS port, it would be cool if they added Naked Snake/MGS3 Era Big Boss instead of Solid again, or add him as a skin
Isn't the Brawl one a mix of Naked and Solid (MGS1)? In MGS1 and all except the beginning of MGS2, he didn't rock the beard at all. I always preferred Naked Snake over Solid. I wouldn't mind alternate costumes for him.

[sp] But it always could be solidus :u [/sp] But yeah they should have him in his MGS3 gear if he's added to fit in with the 3DS port
hey guys does anyone else think they might not show all characters before release like they did with brawl? they like showed only half of the roster before that come out
I was thinking about this. There were 39* playable characters in Brawl, and up until now they've announced 29 characters of SSB4's roster. If the 3DS version comes out in August, we'd need at least 10 character reveals within four months to match Brawl's roster. Could this be a trend of diminishing returns in roster additions? There were 14 new characters between SSB and SSBM, and 11 between SSBM and SSBB. Statistically speaking, assuming: - An August 7th release date (the midway point for Summer 2014) - No delays (lol) - That they keep up the reveal pace they've had up until now (24 days between reveals, on average**) - That there won't be any more multi-character reveals between now and the release date - And that they're revealing all the characters in the game pre-release That would total 5 new reveals, meaning the roster would be expected to total 34 characters. Of course, that's a stupid assumption and not a number to be taken seriously. The pace of reveals will most likely increase as we get closer to the release date, and that date could be well into September for all we know, and they might not be telling us about every character they're putting in the roster. I mean, at one point, between December 18th and February 21st, we were getting an average of a new character every 13 days. So taking all that into consideration, we might be having as many as 10+ reveals before the game comes out, and that might not include every character in the game. So maybe... 45-48 total characters is an educated guess? That would be a 6-9 character increase over Brawl. Just imagining 48 playable characters makes me all jittery. Also I spent too much time into this and now I'm going to go do something productive kbai. *Pkmn. trainer + Zelda/Shiek + Zero Suit/Samus = 7 ** actual avg. = 23.92308
We went from 12, to 26, to 39. 51 would be the number to expect, but slighty less characters would be more likely.
speaking of snake anyone notice how olimars new up B functions similarly to snakes one? (minus the pikmin weight distribution feature if you are carrying more)
pikmin is snake confirmed
Iroquois Pikmin, I knew it
We went from 12, to 26, to 39. 51 would be the number to expect, but slighty less characters would be more likely.
45 kinda seems like the bare minimum at this point. We have 29 characters right now, and there are around 13 brawl veterans we haven't seen yet and at least half of those are pretty much guaranteed to be in it, plus however many more newcomers that'll be added.
speaking of snake anyone notice how olimars new up B functions similarly to snakes one? (minus the pikmin weight distribution feature if you are carrying more
Just like Pit has a similar Up-B to Lucario. I always like those kinds of recovery where you can choose directions. Speaking of recoveries, I wonder if, since Yoshi is now standing upright changing the strength of its moves, will its jumps recover even more?

sakurai conforming to other m's samus design standards appears to have inadvertently ruined metroid discussions again for another year, at least there's so much heated arguing again jesus christ
sakurai conforming to other m's samus design standards appears to have inadvertently ruined metroid discussions for another year, at least there's so much heated arguing again jesus christ
It's the most recent Samus design, since Brawl came on the tail end of the Prime series; of course they'd use the Other M designs, even if the western fanbase despised the game. At least Sakurai changed things like the heels so it wasn't just "sexy samus." It's like when the Other M armor was chosen, so many people complained nonstop.
Hell, he could add Ridley running around in a tutu and high heels if he fucking wants to.
no he couldn't, they don't make tutus that big :v:
Hype Analysis
Man, that analysis is getting me even more hype. It's also pretty much giving a strong hint that Palutena is going to be playable and giving me hope for another Fire Emblem rep -- this time from Awakening! Also, I have my own speculation that the 3DS version will be Circle Pad Pro compatible. The accessory adds a RZ button and a second control stick that could act like the C-Stick.
And besides, he had a pretty unique style of combat going on. Why would you remove such a unique character? (Aside copyright issues)
Just because a character is unique doesn't mean they're safe from getting cut, Mewtwo didn't return in Brawl. However, I won't rule out Snake's fate yet.
The fact that they're replacing attacks and animations with ones loyal to the games (i.e. DK getting his roll instead of a kick, Link's forward attack is his jump slash, Link's backdodge is his backflip) is really exciting me. As for characters, I only assume that Mewtwo is gone for good, and they think that Lucario is his replacement. Doesn't matter, now Project M people (if they ever get to editing 4) can replace Lucario with Mewtwo, with his final smash easily explained by Megamew-x (the fighting/psychic).
Oh talking about Project M. Can someone link me (or tell me) how to set up Project M on Dolphin with the whole online thing? I can't find it anymore. I know someone explain it on this thread.

I've come to realize why I'm upset at the people complaining about SSB4's ZSS. At first I thought I was mad because they're complaining, but really I always knew the people complaining are completely right in the fact that she's really oversexualized and the heels definitely doesn't help at all. I'm upset because people are comparing Brawl's model with 4's model, and saying how sexist it is for her to have been given high heels. It isn't anything to do with Smash's development, but rather it's Other M's fault for giving her the heels (which were somehow built into the suit itself) in the first place. I honestly think Sakurai should be thanked (or really whoever said individuals are blaming) for actually taking a shitty design and giving it some use. Not saying it completely makes up for the rest of her design, but at the very least this controversy would be better focused on the actual problems. I know I'm late on this, I just needed to get this typed out. I think we can all skip out on the topic, considering we've said all that's need to be said at least in regard to the new Smash. In other news, I've ordered my Substitute! It's the 6 inch tall one but the size doesn't matter for me.
I hate saying this but am I the only one who thinks Snake shouldn't return? Him being in Brawl was super exciting for me but it just doesn't make much sense to me personally seeing as Metal Gear Solid 5/Ground Zeroes is coming to literally everything but a nintendo console. Why promote a character that's setting up camp on everything but your own console?
There's that leak going around about the roster leaked by the E3 predictor with the Chorus Boys in it and it's increasingly scary to me that that may be the final, real roster.

(I did like how the box was incorporated, and maybe another character could take up the mantle)
You all disagreed back then, (http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1280967&p=41143693&highlight=#post41143693) but now it must be starting to look grim.
