WFT is kinda disappointing to me, I understand they were trying to try something new but out of the popular Nintendo charterers they could have picked from they pick a person from a fitness game.
I think the whole idea is that they wanted to take a character who would be REALLY unexpected.

And so far it's unexpectedly the best character.
I don't even like the Wii Fit series and I'm happy she's in. She's a fucking Yoga instructor that gives fitness tips while kicking ass.
This Smash Brothers is shaping up to be the best one yet
Imagine if Valve started making games for the Wii U and Gordon Freeman got to be in this.
Oh God that's right. He only has one physical attack.
Megaman vs Villager would be a slaughter if they don't find a way to divert it.
He has Top Spin (dash attack), Charge Slide (presumably down tilt, possibly forward tilt), Spark Shot and Flame Blast (up and down smashes), Flame Sword and Slash Claw (forward air and back air), and Mega Upper (probably up tilt).
Everything else has projectile properties. Although I'd assume that Villager can't catch Rush Coil or Leaf Shield; Hard Knuckle is difficult to say, since it's a projectile but it goes in such a trajectory that catching it without getting hit is going to be impossible.

Think of it this way, they'd know that people would be pretty pissed if they added wii fitness trainer and not any of the more requested characters like ridley or k rool, so theres a better chance they'll make up for it with characters like those in future website updates
I'm expecting one of the major titles to get a new rep in the next update (all of the new characters are from series that never had playable characters before), unless they stop announcing new characters for a while and focus on stages or something
Haha, Wii Fit trainer.

I guess when you put it that way it does not sound so bad. Would be cool to have more Donkey Kong Characters or Sonic Characters.
Did they say if the Wii U and 3DS versions will get characters specific to the system? The Wii Fit trainer doesn't make much sense to me on the 3DS.

they will both have the same characters.

The only thing they've said was exclusive to each platform is stages that are focused more on titles from those consoles.
So if Metal Blades isn't in his move set it's his final smash then right?
Shit is so broken and Sakurai knows it.

It is in his moveset though. Watch the latest dev video.
Since that Punch-Out Stadium is probably another SSB stage since it's got the logo in the middle, do you think it's going to replace Final Destination or just be an extra stage or something else for single player?
I'm guessing the next couple of characters they reveal will be confirmations of returning fighters. I doubt they want to blow their load on new people in the first couple of weeks.
i praise for both snake and king dedede's comebacks.
I hope Metakight returns but in a more nerfed form so he is not super powerful.
Well, technically the Animal Crossing Villager's as much of a troll/joke character as this. Although cool and relevant, he seems to specifically be there to show they're just throwing the kitchen sink into this game and having fun with it.
I don't see how the animal crossing character is a troll/joke character. A lot of characters in smash are from games where they do no what so ever violent acts. I'd say with characters like ROB, I don't see why you'd be surprised.

I just hope they have a patching system so that they can do some balancing after the game is out. Brawl could have been so much better if there was a patch system in there.
If they are having unique characters for the 3DS and Wii U version I look forward to seeing Nikki from Swapnote as a playable character. Or perhaps that bird which gives you tips on the 3DS camera app.
AC Villager has the best type of reflection, seeing as he can take shit and save it for later.

Maybe he won't be able to keep more than one projectile at the same time, use it once to catch a projectile and press again to throw/shoot it. So just spam his megabuster and he won't be able to catch all the shoots.

Didn't Nintendo add an update system to games on the Wii U? Because I know they did on the 3DS. If they did, that would work very well.

Yes, being able to grab supercharged balls of plasma and throw them into a knapsack is a great ability. Though then again, Game n' Watch did it with a damn bucket.
Nintendo physics, people.
Though then again, Game n' Watch did it with a damn bucket.
But didn't G&W need 3 projectiles to use the bucket? And even then, you had to be fairly close.
Villager can do it with just one projectile and release it in literally a second.

Well considering that he holds and throws, it'd make sense to limit him to 1 projectile. Much like how Game and Watch has the same button input to grab projectiles and toss them with his oil can.
Spamming the Villager is the best way to skirt around that. But remember that Megaman is the only one that can really spam the projectiles at a rapid rate, everyone else has to pause between shots, but at least they have more physical attacks to get up in his face with.
Seems like one of those supers that depend on her missing.
It points to a single direction, and if you stick close to her, stand under her, or dash behind her, it wont do a thing
Also he may not be able to grab certain kinds of projectiles.
PSI Magnet and Oil Bucket can only grab energy-based projectiles (things like Samus's missiles will ignore them).
Imagine grabbing a Pikmin and throwing it back at Olimar's face.

Could he grab Fox's lasers?

I can imagine him catching Lucario's Aura Sphere, which raises the question if said projectile does exact the same damage back as he would have taken. (Aura Sphere gets stronger the more damage Lucario has at the moment.)
