What if the emblem could spawn an AR stage and you'd have the characters running around and fighting each other on your tabletop or something? Or a big one in chalk on a driveway or sidewalk for a life-size match. Ooh, or as a variant of the Stage Builder, you could draw it on a piece of paper along with a stage sketch, and they'd fight in 2D on that.
The 3DS is quite good at discerning obstructive depth with the two cameras. Perhaps it could let you set the system down on a flat surface, put some objects along a superimposed line (not unlike Master Hand from the opening of the first game), and they become obstacles in an AR stage you can watch AI play in, getting hitboxes in real time and letting you mess with the fight by moving stuff and hitting the fighters. That'd be such a fun time waster, I'd do it all day.
So I've been thinking... Is it just me, or is Yoshi probably the one 'Mario spin-off' character who hasn't really spun-off? I mean, Wario Land shares nearly no features with Mario games after Virtual Boy Wario Land and WarioWare is completely different, and both franchises have their own cast of characters. Donkey Kong also spun-off fairly well, DKC games play completely differently and have their own supporting characters. But Yoshi games keep the vast majority of Mario enemies, Mario mechanics, etc. Hell, Mario himself appears in nearly every "Yoshi" game, albeit as a baby. I'd disagree with anyone who said Wario and DK were Mario-universe characters, but with Yoshi I'm not sure I would.
They can't make a cowboy any stupider then Wii Fit Trainer.
I like wii fit trainer though. And if we get a cowboy anything it better be dillon.
Sorry for straying off the topic, but I had a weird thought. Would people actually like this new ZSS if Other M was a better game?
People do like the new ZSS, there are also people who don't like the new ZSS. Funny how people have opinions huh?
TBH I don't really care about Other M (not a franchise I play) and I think the rocket heels are dumb. While there are probably people whose opinion of the new ZSS is based on Other M, I'm sure there are plenty who like it/dislike it on it's own.
I like wii fit trainer though. And if we get a cowboy anything it better be dillon.
I don't hate her, but I still think it was a stupid idea. But they turned a stupid idea into a full fledged fighter, and that's still impressive in my book.
The problem with characters like Wii Fit Trainer is the idea of the wasted character slot. What, this random gag character got in but not my favourite? GRR CLEARLY THE FACT THAT MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER DIDN'T GET PICKED CAN BE DIRECTLY ATTRIBUTED TO THIS OTHER CHARACTER GETTING IN THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY RIDLEY STILL HAS A CHANCE DAMMIT

When characters like Rosalina get confirmed, it means there's less chance that another Mario newcomer will be in the game, so Bowser Jr's chances are now really low for example. It also means there's less chance that another double-character will be announced, so characters like Ashley (using Red like a Luma) also have close to no chance of appearing. So yes, if Bowser Jr doesn't get in, Rosalina is the main reason. However, calling her or WiiFit Trainer a wasted slot is stupid. A clone is a wasted slot.
I forgot it's the weekend, I've been waiting for someone to post the daily update so I come in everytime I see a new post :downs:
You could just check Miiverse, you know.
You could just check Miiverse, you know.
Yeah, you don't even have to scroll down to read the terrible posts.
You could just check Miiverse, you know.
I haven't turned my Wii U on for like 2 weeks.

So the Pokemon are there own slot now?

A clone is a wasted slot.
Why is a clone a wasted slot Ever since Melee, clones have been characters added after the main roster was completed. These 'slots' weren't reserved for other characters, they didn't exist in the first place. Sure it's lazy of them but then again SSB is itself a massive game and a single character can take hundreds of hours to develop. Imho the more the merrier, no matter how similar some characters may be (in visuals alone, considering anyone who has played a clone and their counterpart for 10 minutes knows they play vastly different). You can't blame the developers for making good use of their development time. Personally, the only problem I had with "clones" in Brawl was their FS. There really is no excuse for 3 of the same Final Smash.
Clones are also nice since they open up more options for people who would normally play only one character, characters like falco and toon link can sometimes open up more options for people who like link or fox's playstyle for example.
I don't mind most clones. The only one that really bothers me is Gannondorf, only because he has the potential for so much more and his moveset doesn't really make sense to me. Wolf I kind didn't like only because he was a second clone. Otherwise the others didn't bother me at all.
Ganondorf was probably a victim of time (haha ocarina reference)- gave him Falcon's moveset as a placeholder, but then realized they didn't have enough time to program and balance another character. In the end I feel that, given enough time and demand, Ganondorf would have a much different moveset than he has now.

"they both have a laser and are from the same franchise !!1!"
Fox/Wolf have completely different A moves, the only thing slightly similar are their B moves and even those are only the same in concept (neutral B is a laser, down B is the reflector, etc) and they still don't function the same.
I've been saying this since release: Wolf is as much a clone of Fox as Diddy Kong is. Think about it.
I've been saying this since release: Wolf is as much a clone of Fox as Diddy Kong is. Think about it.
Except Diddy Kong's moveset is entirely original in not only functionality, but power differentials, aesthetics, and even just naming the moves from a distance. Wolf has a blaster, an illusion dash, an up charge, a reflector, and a landmaster final smash. Fox has all of these. The only thing that makes Wolf not a clone is his basic A attacks are a little different and he plays a bit differently from Fox. DK has a punch where Diddy has a popgun, DK has a headsmash where Diddy has his leap, DK has a spin recovery where Diddy has a charge jetpack, DK has a ground slam while Diddy has a banana, and DK has his bongos while Diddy has his pack again. With custom movesets on the way, I wouldn't be surprised if Wolf was cut because you can replicate any of his moves in Custom Movesets with Fox/Falco.

(i.e a few of their attacks could be considered similar, but they are not clones. Wolf shares similar special [B] attacks with Fox, and Diddy shares vaguely similar standard [A] attacks with Fox.)
