Man, I really want to see a Punch Out assist trophy- Macho's triple spin attack would probably be best, take up a large portion of the map while spinning his arm. Of course, considering how the Japanese see the series (I remember a report of Japanese individuals saying "Guess they had to appeal to the Americans too" and the like), this seems rather unlikely.

I think Chrom is the safest bet you can imagine, there's always 2 Fire Emblem reps and they cycle (outside of Marth), seeing how Chrom is the flagship lord of the newest game (and the one that saved the franchise) I think he's pretty safe. Even if I'd prefer Robin.

I can't really see anyone from Rhythm Heaven being added. I'd imagine the attacks would be based on rhythm, and that would probably make it obvious and your attacks would be telegraphed.

When it comes to Ridley I'd much rather assume the worst and be pleasantly surprised than hope beyond hope and have my hopes dashed.

Isn't every iteration of Ridley huge though? At least with Bowser he's reasonably sized in most games. Also: the new FE representative will be Tharja every move is Peach's butt bounce

"Cut his tail in half no one will notice! Get rid of his wings he doesn't need them! Make him stand upright at all times he doesn't have to crawl (he has never walked in a game as far as I remember)" It's crazy

Shrinking Ridley still leaves a lot of his body parts large in comparison to his body, like his large wing span and tail. This is coming from a guy who wanted Ridley since day one, I love the Metroid series and that dragon,.

Not to mention unless you really stylize him, it'd be exceptionally difficult to give him sensible telegraphs for his moves at that scale, or a passable animation set at all. It's not just size, his design sucks for Smash. I'd love to see him in the series too, but to do so they'd have to drastically alter him. The same people begging for him to be included would HATE that.
