I really hope they either remove or turn down the damage Link´s tether could do in mid air. It was a common thing for Link players to use this often for zoning, and with this new range I can imagine it becoming annoying.
I'm sure the absurd range only kicks in when you're within reach of a ledge, similar to Zamus' whip in Brawl.
Pic of the day. Tether recovery? Yes, you can! And from even longer range than before. Multiple fighters can latch on--who actually grabs hold is determined by the same rules as the standard ledge grab.
This is fantastic for Link, he really needed a recovery buff. I was getting worried looking at his upB in footage we've seen so far because it doesn't look like it has more aerial distance than previous games.
I've been playing Smash for almost a decade now, but I have yet to successfully pull off a tether recovery.
Thinking on it now why do people like K.Rool anyway, half jokingly he's one of the shittiest bosses motive wise I've ever seen. HA HA HA I HAVE STOLEN ALL OF THE BANANA'S. SURELY DK AND FRIENDS WILL STARVE K.Rool schemes, totally unaware that there are hundreds upon hundreds of banana's right outside DK's doorstep Then the other two games are just him butthurt that he got beat up, K.Rools like the shittiest troll in the nintendo universe :v:

Is it time to board the hype train?
Smash Bros at E3 confirmed.
I am in tears. Nintendo paying plane trips to Melee and Brawl pros to play Smash 4 at E3. Based Nintendo. Holy shit. [editline]29th April 2014[/editline]
Super Smash Bros. Invitational 2014 will see the arrival of not one, but two new Super Smash Bros. games: Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. To commemorate this occasion, Nintendo is inviting 16 highly skilled Super Smash Bros. players to the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles to compete in a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament. Thousands of fans in the audience and countless more watching a live stream online will see new Super Smash Bros. characters clash with existing favorites in action for the first time. More important than declaring a winner, however, this event is a celebration of all things Super Smash Bros., and a great way for new and veteran fans to take part in a tribute to this legendary franchise. More information about the 16 invited participants in the tournament, the identity of the announcers, and how fans of the franchise can view the tournament in person and via webcast, will be communicated shortly.
must "highly skilled players" really mean pros, though? its kinda weird... nintendo never really liked streaming and even less about pro gamers... it feels like theyre just attracting pro gamers there to just execute them all at once lol
Smash Bros. at Best Buy confirmed
I´m impressed they did the entire video without a My Body is Ready joke.
Every Best Buy is going to be packed up the ass.
Well. I guess that settles the "does Nintendo care about comp" debate.
Well. I guess that settles the "does Nintendo care about comp" debate.
It was already settled when Nintendo announced they're sponsoring MLG Anaheim about 1 month ago, but I guess nobody cares about that here.
To be honest, I've been adamant that Nintendo just doesn't care about that stuff and I'm genuinely surprised they're showing an interest now. It doesn't seem like a very Nintendo thing to do.
It would be stupid of them to ignore it at this point. EVO 2013 smashed records, pun intended. There's a lot of money to be made in competitive games, and Nintendo happens to own the rights to one of the most prolific and interesting scenes out there. The top 5 must be shitting their pants in excitement right now, I'm really excited to see who will get to go for the invitational. I wonder if the participants will have time with the game before the tourney?
I never expected MLG-like stuff to get this big, personally. Always seemed like a waste of time; that there was no point and that it wasn't something that would be enjoyable to spectate. Still it's 2014, I guess. Times change... Funny, it's been a while since I was proven wrong like this; it ain't often that something surprises me anymore.
It's actually quite a good move of them. We'll be able to see the new speed of the game as well as how all the new move/stuff fairs out in combos. A few years back, I wouldn't have care about comp stuff as much but seeing all these players play at that level kinda reminded me of my younger days watching grown ups playing games, from whom I would learn to beat said games. Same thing now. Been adding a few more options to my tactics in Smash since I've been watching higher level matches. Plus, I might play quite a bit of For Glory since Smash is one of the very few fighting games I can lose and not be completely demoralized by the loss.

Well, great. The next six weeks of my life are going to be meaningless as I wait for this.
I hope the pros they're talking about are the guys from the melee scene Would love to see Ken and Mewtwoking play some Marth dittos
So if they're going to have Smash at E3 and best buy, could it be safe to say we could be looking at a mid July to August release for the 3DS version? Don't quote me on that, just wishful thinking :v:
I hope the pros they're talking about are the guys from the melee scene Would love to see Ken and Mewtwoking play some Marth dittos
They're gonna pick pros from all 3 Smash games I think, no reason to solely pick Melee players for a Smash 4 tournament. For the Ken M2K Marth dittos just wait 2 weeks afterwards for MLG Anaheim.

Dudes. Hear me out. Fils-a-mech for Smash.

What days do you guys think the Best Buy Experience will be this year? I am probably going to request the Friday the 13th off work for it.
I need to find out what day of the week this is on so I can skip work. I went to Best Buy last year, thinking showing up an hour and a half early would suffice. Oh boy was I wrong. I was in line for 7 hours. It was a fun day regardless. I'm just hoping that it'll be at the Best Buy near here, I'd rather not need to drive a half hour to the one that has it when I have one that's not even a mile from my house.
Bah, guess I'll be sticking to the streams for my Smash Bros fix. Why can't they bring it to GAME or something, give the UK some love too. :v:
