Also Red is only good with his fist. He's hamhanded with everything else so giving him the others skills for no apparent reason wouldn't of been very smart.
[sp]He uses a sword for a single cutscene and it's only because he grabs it with his fist and it's oversized[/sp]
i think the point is that it'd tag out for the respective wonderful one, and each would have their own standard attack moveset
That doesn't really point one way or another towards confirming or otherwise. You can get trophies of all the playable characters too.
And Sakurai didn't deconfirm Ridley as a boss character either! He still totally has a chance!
You're grasping at straws here. Wonder Red is done for. He's not playable.
I don't even care who gets revealed anymore at this point.
How do you guys feel about the possible inclusion of Pac-Man? Do you he has a chance, and do you think you'd enjoy his inclusion? The addition of those Namco items (or assist trophies or whatever they are) do point to a representative from said company at the very least, and while I would like Drill Dozer or Dig Dug more, he seems the most likely candidate.
I never wanted/expected Wonder Red anywy, so this one doesn't hurt a whole lot. It's a shame he was deconfirmed with a simple picture of his trophy, though.

No transformations

I think this is what makes it sting the most for me, personally. I had hopes of him being in and if he wasn't confirmed at launch I'd just shrug and go about it and be pleasant surprised when the trophy popped up.
Seeing "He's a trophy and so is everyone else get over it nerds" (not actual words) just feels blunt. I'd be happy if he was even just a assist honestly.
the fact that he isn't atleast an assist is kinda lame i guess
maybe that slot is taken by jeanne [sp]if bayonetta is playable[/sp]

Yeah, getting too fussed over who gets in and who doesn't is just a waste of time. If there's even a single new character who you're totally excited about, that should be all you need. I have Little Mac, so nothing Sakurai can throw at me will phase me anymore.
isaac will be fine isaac will be ok isaac will be fine isaac will be ok isaac will be fine isaac will be ok

the only character i ever wanted was dedede back in brawl so uh yeah
the only character i kinda want is medusa just for the sake of variety
I don't bring my own hopes up with unrealistic expectations for characters.
I got my Villager, Toon Link, Kirby, and Greninja (who was a wonderful surprise), so I'm already good.
At this point all I want is a Fire Emblem Awakening representative and I don't care who else gets in, or who gets left out. Although I'm still wondering what's taking Ness so long.

Wasn't Ness not revealed for Brawl until the game was out?
Same here.
It would have been fun to have him but I still have Luigi and Link and I'll be rocking a bit of Little Mac and Megaman.
Or I'll end up playing with all of 'em like I usually do anyways in any game.
I got Megaman, Little Mac, the Villager, and a revamped Samus.
All I need now is a revamped Wario with a shoulder barge and I'll be happy, Sakurai, please
Think there are actually anymore newcomers to be revealed at this point? I'm having my doubts...
Nope. There's no more newcomers. The next coming months will be devoid of anything interesting and the game will be released like a wet fart, e3 won't show anything at all nope.
[editline]7th May 2014[/editline]
Of course there's going to be newcomers :I
Wasn't Ness not revealed for Brawl until the game was out?
they never revealed the unlockable N64 veterans (ness, falcon, luigi, jigglypuff) until after brawl was released, and I thought they were doing the same thing this time around excluding luigi since it was his year at the time

For me playable Dillon would've been the point where it was like "this is above and beyond" but at the moment it's just really good. Next reveal will probably do that for me.
I'm still really happy about Megaman and I feel like everyone else takes for granted how great that is
This is a legitimate question. Did they show any of the newcomers for brawl that were unlock-able characters?

Lucario was leaked, I think.

Yes. I can't tell you if it was before the game was released or not, though, because Europe has been historically dicked over for smash.
I believe unlockable Brawl characters, newcomers and veterans, were only revealed after the Japanese release.
Well here is the text from Miiverse:
Pic of the day. Fight! The Wonderful 100!! We also made trophies of some of the other Wonderful Ones.
It also seems that several communities think Sakurai is trolling, and Wonder Red is still playable in the game.

I imagine these are the same people who think that Ridley's shadow appearing while Sakurai talk about "other stage hazards" means that Sakurai was just trolling and Ridley is playable.
Well sakurai was trolling with that Ridley shadow
it doesn't mean he's playable though, just that he's fucking with people :v:
This is a legitimate question. Did they show any of the newcomers for brawl that were unlock-able characters?
Do Sonic and Snake count? Those are the first two I can think of.
yeah, melee got 14 newcomers, brawl got 18, and smash 4 will have 6
hype deconfirmed
Warioland 4 is hitting the Wii U VC tomorrow, which means there is a chance we might get a Wario Announcement.
I kinda want there to be no/few announcements until E3, and then we just get bombarded by announcements just like how Greninja played out.

It'll feel off if they pair the VC release of Wario Land 4 and a smash reveal where Wario's moveset is still primarily pulled out of thin air or derived from Microgames.
At least let me have his 3 signature attacks that he's had since before he was even playable: ground pound, throwing enemies, and his shoulder bash. I know smash already has throwing as a part of the engine but his throws could use a little touching up to give it that Wario feel to them; this is a guy who'll toss people overhand like a baseball, piledrive them into the ground, swing them haphazardly into other enemies, and shake them down for cash. Brawl had the Wild Swing Ding but it was only the WSD in name and animation, it confused me why swinging them around wouldn't hit people in the way like Mario and Luigi's throws would do.
I know I sound like a broken record about Wario's moveset, but here's hoping for a burly dirty-fighting wrestler-style moveset like we know Wario is at heart.
