You shouldn't have to be looking for small differences which don't mean anything concrete when you can just say "why would someone see an unrevealed character that a lot of people want to be added to the roster and then take a photo which crops all but the last letter of his name out of the shot?" You shouldn't need to go through this rigorous process of disproving these images when you have no good reason to believe them in the first place.

The first two I posted are confirmed to be from the same person, as they got posted together. Nothing confirms the legimacy of any other, and I wouldn't take any other than the first two as an even remotely trustworthy leak if I were you.

The thing about the first two is that they're the first leak not to go batshit crazy, only saying we'll have a 50 man roster and showing us what the game's picking screen looks like. Considering Gamestop will have public demos available in less than 3 weeks, there is no reason not to have access to this kind of info. Are they there for E3 or is it something unrelated?

I'd guess after he saw some reactions he got greedy and edited the thing with a few new characters, but in addition small stuff that you wouldn't notice at first glance that blatantly points out Ridley is in it without actually doing so to cause discussion at first. Not suddenly some new guy coming in a hour later replicating the original picture set perfectly but with character changes for lols. In addition I saw this was at the Japan Expo and it wasn't in Japanese nor English as well as the Original Photo being uploaded in July the month it came out in EU... when it came out in Jan in Japan.

How do I update Project M without downloading the whole thing? My internet is pretty poor, and I'd rather download as little as possible. Assuming I can even do that, anyway. As far as I can tell, I have to redownload the whole pack.

My initial inclination is to be wary of the original 2 screenshots but they certainly are pretty convincing. The framing on the portraits is nice and on center, there's a lot of small intricacies that make it feel like official artwork, like the smash logo hidden in the locks, and it fits the art style the game has been going for so far. The only thing that makes me really think otherwise would be the P1 character selector because of its tackiness/simplicity, but it's incredibly likely that the art for it isn't finished and that it's simply a placeholder. The lack of a dynamic moving background also is a bit odd considering there's usually at least some subtle movement, but at the same time that could also simply be absent from the demo as it's a very low priority unimportant feature. Also wouldn't be surprised if there was no dynamic background since this game is going for a much "cleaner" kind of style and that a background like that might not fit. All in all, I see no reason to really believe these are real, but definitely see no reason to call them fake either.
