the game wasn't the best but whats wrong with the design of samus exactly?
I like to think of it like a song being associated with a bad memory. Only in this case, a suit of Powered Armor and a game.
Things some people seem to be mad about to date (in greentext format i'm sorry it's all i know) >Other M Samus >Not that many newcomers thus far >Newcomers that have appeared aren't cared for >Animations and models feel samey to Brawl >Again, Other M Samus. Keep hearing about this everywhere I go, people are upset.
I'll never understand how someone wouldn't be hyped for Villager. He looks fun as hell.

Keep hearing about this everywhere I go, people are upset.
I can relate to why they'd be pissy over Other M Samus, but honestly it didn't feel too unexpected since as far as I can recall it was the most recent game Samus made an appearance in, and IMO the appearance alone is not terrible. Her design is not bad, just the game that the design originates from. Brawl didn't introduce all newcomers at once either, and IMO no newcomer reveal thus far has been as unique as the reveal of Megaman. I think they knew that he was going to steal the show, and therefor they want to save some other big reveals so that they still have some surprises left in store. Animal crossing is a hugely popular game with a unique style and features, and even if you don't do any fighting in it, there are plenty of other characters in Smash who had never been seen fighting before joining the cast (ROB, Cpt Falcon, Mr.Game&Watch, Zelda). WFT is iconic to the Wii Fitness game(games?) and is just as acceptable of a character as Mr.Game&Watch/ROB. I don't agree that animations and models look too similar to brawl. Especially not after what they did to Bowser. [editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
I'll never understand how someone wouldn't be hyped for Villager. Probably because Animal Crossing isn't a main series and has a bit of a niche fanbase. As a character alone he isn't really that cool or flashy, it's just a kid who uses moves that correspond to things you can do in the game.

Animal Crossing has been around since the N64 and have always been exclusive to Nintendo, and it does have a large fanbase. Yeah the villager isn't iconic per se, but he's iconic to the player in animal crossing.
I'm with you guys, the Villager looks fucking great and people are butt blistered over him being shown off in favor of "cool" characters. I got a friend who's never played AC and is complaining a lot about the addition of him, as well as bitching about his name.
his moveset is brilliant. i love when they create a whole smash bros moveset for an unviolent character. that takes creativity.
To be honest I don't like his name either. In my opinion he should have some generic name like how the dude in Minecraft is unofficially called Steve.
I haven't seen Zero Suit Samus in any shots yet, are there any or is it just assumptions based on the Power Suit?
his moveset is brilliant. i love when they create a whole smash bros moveset for an unviolent character. that takes creativity.
Except for the whole "Dropping a bowling ball on your face" thing :v: this guy looks like a fucking riot to play as
To be honest I don't like his name either. In my opinion he should have some generic name like how the dude in Minecraft is unofficially called Steve.
I'm guessing you really hated pokemon trainer.
Didn't play Brawl that much. Only played it a few times at a friends house. The original was the one I played a lot.
I haven't seen Zero Suit Samus in any shots yet, are there any or is it just assumptions based on the Power Suit?
There's a rumor or two going around that they might be making Samus and ZSS their own characters, nothing confirmed.
To be honest I don't like his name either. In my opinion he should have some generic name like how the dude in Minecraft is unofficially called Steve.
it'd be kinda weird if the animal crossing villager had an actual name. goes against the nature of animal crossing.
The villager should've been called "The Mayor" it's even more badass than it is already Also, I wouldn't like Waluigi as a newcomer at all. I just can't like the character, but I suppose I can see why other people want him in, and it's rather possible.

Yes, a clone of a character who already has moves that are completely innocuous. Instead of growing a normal tree she grows a fruit tree. She uses a fishing rod instead of a bug catching net. 10/10 nintendo.
Really digging the look of the new game. It has all the detail of Brawl but the colour and warmth of SmashN64. Links design here is one of the best Link designs I have ever seen. I like the idea of DS gets handheld levels and Wii U gets console levels. Though I would like it if some of the handheld stages made the jump to console in form of DLC at some point. I just really want to play in Gerudo valley in glorious Wii U HD. I hope Nintendo realises this time how DLC can extend the life of a game if done properly. A few years down the line, still getting levels and characters would really extend this game to last for the consoles entire life.
Nintendo does DLC for one of their Mario games in the form of new stages. I guess they'd rather take their time and release a complete package instead of putting things off and thinking "Yeah, we'll just release that later as DLC".

do we have a specific time when they update the site with new stuff?
i don't think we know yet if it's the same as the brawl dojo site, it'd be every weekday
You know, as excited as I am to PLAY this game, I'm also hyped as fuck for the dojo updates. It was so exciting to see what they showed us

I'm honestly pissed that the 3DS and Wii U versions have exclusive content. It's fucking silly.
I'm honestly pissed that the 3DS and Wii U versions have exclusive content. It's fucking silly.
It seems to be only stages though, and that could change later. But it's Nintendo, what do you expect? They always do weird shit
As long as there are no exclusive fighters, I don't really mind. And honestly I hope no characters are cut out. if anything I wouldn't mind seeing the cut Melee characters returning. If they were removed because they were too similar/unbalanced then they should have been reworked, not completely discarded. Also after having a chance to watch the videos, damn they made Bowser look really awesome in this game.
