The menu graphics we've seen so far (such as in the direct for picking which multiplayer online mode you want) all use simple gradients for the background, though. It is fake, but that's not the loose thread here.

I rarely played it, but I always thought it was a neat idea. Something more than just trying to kill your opponents.
A king of the ring kinda mode might be cool on fuckmongous stages like New Pork City and Palutena's Temple.
One player grabs the crown, whomever knocks him out gets the crown.
So on and so forth until time runs out, whoever's holding the crown wins.

Ugh. So not only does explodey sword return, it doesn't even bother referencing Ike's only connection to fire by having it be blue. (Ike is known as the hero of blue flames in-universe and he uses blue fire during an attack on the final boss sort of like Great Aether).
I'd have preferred something like Ragnell's ranged attack.

Sakurai said random tripping wouldn't be back, but tripping caused by items/moves is coming back (especially with Diddy's bananas).
Making Ike's neutral b make opponents trip if they're in close range while he winds it up would be a nice buff, you could use it as both a "get out of my face" move if released instantly and a powerful finisher if you wind it up.
