It's a shame that people can't enjoy things because "sexism"
um does he have six fingers?
I actually agree, for the most part. It'd be nice to see Captain Syrup, maybe even Bayonetta. But I fully expect she's drawing an early conclusion and we'll get the alternate costume.
It seems to be only stages though, and that could change later.
But it's Nintendo, what do you expect? They always do weird shit
how is that even
Just because they're Nintendo, that justifies whatever they do? That's a terrible way to look at things.
And if they just had a couple exclusive trophies or something silly like that, I could accept that, but stages are still really important pieces of content that matter a lot.

It's funny that you assume the person who wrote that is female, because oddly enough a guy wrote that.
And on a semi-related topic, regarding the complaints about Samus.

This render is my main problem, I mean the design of the suit itself is fine it looks nice aesthetically and looks functionally practical.
But it's the way she looks stupidly feminine and sexualised that's the issue. Her torso looks so compressed that it looks like the suit has a corset built into it and she has some mad Hartman hips going on.
and that it just happens to line up with everything that they did wrong with Samus' character in Other M makes it all the worse.

Jigglypuff's gender is more implied than actually stated, I don't feel that using her as an example should truly count.
[editline]12th June 2013[/editline]
But then again, there I go calling her "her" :v:
I shudder to think at what Kirby's Wii Fit Trainer copy will look like
The problem with Other M's suit, is that it is form fitting POWERED ARMOR (also, the Gravity suit being reduced to a glow; not my thing. Specially after the Prime series).
Plus, Other M had Guido Ridley (muscles and duckface). Gimme old-style skeletal Ridley, with a mouth that can actually close.

uh
he'd have her ponytail?
Is it just me or do the shaders on some of the characters (Link, Pitt) look way better on the 3DS version than the Wii U version?
I want to see exclusive content. If they have the exact same stuff, why bother getting the one that looks worse?
They should make the games different so they play to each console's strengths. The 3DS has multiple screens, will only be used by 1 person per player, can be taken with you to play anywhere etc. It's a social machine, so it makes sense that it'd have features for StreetPass adding other players and trading detail. The Wii U is more like a party console, everyone comes over to play. It's always plugged in and on so it can update, so downloadable content overnight could be possible.
Look at Sega All Stars for the 3DS. They tried a straight port of the game and it was terrible. I don't want to see this as a Smash game on two consoles, I want to see it as two Smash games with unique strengths.
inb4 BUT I WANT ALL THE CONTENT (you can buy both)(that's probably what nintendo wants so they'll do it)(oh come on you were gonna get both anyways)
edit: ^i think that while the 3ds version is mostly acceptable, donkey kong's fur looks terrible. seriously, the other characters look fine on the 3ds compared to the wii u, but they tried to make donkey kong have nice looking fur because the new DKCR has it, and it looks bad because the 3ds can't handle it. probably my biggest complain about the game so far and it's dk's fur.
Connectivity between the versions. Getting stuff in the WiiU version if you connect the 3DS one to it and vica versa.

Aww shit, this is some Nintendo 64 Gameboy Connector shit man
Pluggin' in Mario Tennis GBC to Mario Tennis 64 gotta get me those characters.
So the sreenshots in the presskit are in 1080p, would this mean that the game will support a 1920x1080 resolution?
That + 60 fps would be godly.
There's some guy going around on Smashboards saying that one of the versions will be Smash 4, and the other version will be Smash 5.
:suicide:

Because I want to play Smash Bros wherever I go and smack the crap out of my friends without hauling a Wii U around
I wonder if It'll be possible in the future to rip characters from Brawl U. Wii U upped their security by a large amount.
Link would be amazing for SFM movies and such.
poopidy doop
I agree with you about DK, but dude, barely anyone has a Wii U. Almost all my friends have 3DSes, NONE of them have Wii Us.
I want to see exclusive content. If they have the exact same stuff, why bother getting the one that looks worse?
Cause I don't have a Wii U and I'm not getting one just for Smash Bros? Is that really a question you need to ask?
inb4 BUT I WANT ALL THE CONTENT (you can buy both)(that's probably what nintendo wants so they'll do it)(oh come on you were gonna get both anyways)
no
just no
I want all the content, but i'm not going to buy the game twice for it, especially not when, even if I did, I would still not really have all the content because it would be split.
And no I was not going to buy both, i'm only interested in the Wii U version.
I would be fine with them having some features that play to each of their strengths, such as having some kind of StreetPass integration on the 3DS version, but don't lock content to it.

Haha, watching this felt so weird.
Crowd going BALLISTICS with Samus fighting Ridley...
Gimme my dragon xenomorph, please.
I think at least 45.
Sakurai said there wouldn't be many, but that was before Namco-Bandai got involved.
D... Does this mean gundam???? Amuro Ray, joining the fight! UUUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH
If Meta Knight is in, he's gonna need shitload of balancing.
Due to his incredible fighting prowess, general unpopularity in the Super Smash Bros. community (he was and is considered "broken" among many), negligible weaknesses and over-centralisation of the metagame, Meta Knight was banned for a time between January 9th, 2012 and April 16, 2012 from the Unity Ruleset, which was being pushed as the only valid ruleset. This makes Meta Knight the only character in the Super Smash Bros. series who has been banned from a standardized tournament ruleset.
:V
Why do people even play Smash Bros competitive? It's a party/social game, not competitive.
-snip
it's a fighting game, so it can be played competitively
Yea, I wonder that too.
That's like playing Mario Party competitively.
(please tell me its not played competitively. I don't even wanna google search that.)
not really? its a fairly balanced fighting game and you can remove the factor of randomness by playing in final destination with no items. mario party is just not balanced at all and thats the point of it.
why do you guys care how people play the game anyway?
If people want to play it competetively, I see nothing wrong with that. It's not hurting anyone.
Just don't expect Nintendo to cater to that, because they will not and should not do that.
If people want to play it competetively, I see nothing wrong with that.
Just as long as they don't expect Nintendo to cater to that, because they will not and should not do that.
i don't see why they can't please both groups. they've done that pretty well with pokemon.
I hope they include more characters from the Mother series.
