The problem with Brawl was that, to bridge the gap between veterans and newcomers, combos, hitstun and pretty much depth was removed (instead of putting an emphasis on handicap). So, the character whose weak attacks could be pulled fast enough became the ONLY one in the game who could combo. MetaKnight would be fine, if the rest of characters played more like Melee than Brawl. And no unique character removals please. Losing Mewtwo was enough.
Well the good news is the 3DS and WiiU have patching systems, so if Nintendo wants to they can continue to balance the game after release.

I never hated Meta Knight because he was OP, I just hate him because he's ridiculously boring to play as.
not really? its a fairly balanced fighting game and you can remove the factor of randomness by playing in final destination with no items. mario party is just not balanced at all and thats the point of it. why do you guys care how people play the game anyway?
Battlefield or delphino are more balanced IMO. Some characters need those platforms for some tricks.
I want boxing ring to become the new Final Destination
I want boxing ring to become the new Final Destination
no final destination would be terrible
I want boxing ring to become the new Final Destination
They show a battlefield like stage that lacks the three platforms.
I want boxing ring to become the new Final Destination
No items, Fox Only, Boxing Ring
I want boxing ring to become the new Final Destination
There's going to be a Final Destination. Where else will you be going to during classic mode to fight the freakishly-large disembodied hand?
I grown a dislike for the Metal Gear series, I wouldn't miss Snake.
But it's the way she looks stupidly feminine and sexualised that's the issue. Her torso looks so compressed that it looks like the suit has a corset built into it and she has some mad Hartman hips going on.
but samus has had the corset thing and hips going since super metroid
I prefer the old armour look to the Other aMour look the old one looks more like a metal suit of power
I wouldnt mind seeing more characters from secondary franchises, not to mention with the involvement of Megaman, there is possibility for other franchises from other companies making an appearance. Here's hoping Simon Belmont gets in!
I would love to see more Capcom characters at least as DLC.
Honestly I'm not too bothered by Samus using the Other M design. But if Other M is the model they're going off then suddenly I don't want to see Ridley in this. I'm sorry but he just looks like a stupid duck on steroids in Other M. It'd be cool though if they do something like with wario, where you get alternate costumes that show off alternate versions of the character, that'd solve a lot of inevitable bitching with character designs. They could have a lot of fun with megaman doing that.
I would still hate Meta Knight. I never hated Meta Knight because he was OP, I just hate him because he's ridiculously boring to play as.
Well, that'd be your opinion. Personally I love jumping after my opponents and making recovery hell, while handling myself decently in the air. To each his own.
It's funny that you assume the person who wrote that is female, because oddly enough a guy wrote that. And on a semi-related topic, regarding the complaints about Samus. This render is my main problem, I mean the design of the suit itself is fine it looks nice aesthetically and looks functionally practical. But it's the way she looks stupidly feminine and sexualised that's the issue. Her torso looks so compressed that it looks like the suit has a corset built into it and she has some mad Hartman hips going on. and that it just happens to line up with everything that they did wrong with Samus' character in Other M makes it all the worse.
She still has a pretty thin waist in Prime. I think people are trying to find excuses to dislike the design just because the game was bad.
Are all the old characters from previous games going to be in? Or will it just be a new line up?
Are all the old characters from previous games going to be in? Or will it just be a new line up?
Nothing's been announced, but it's probably safe to say that at least 90% of the Brawl cast will be returning.

As for alternately modeled costumes, that's a pretty spectacular idea. Doing that could find a way to get characters like Dr. Mario, Dixie Kong, and the Female Villager into the game without much effort.
Haha, watching this felt so weird.
Imagine the freak out if Nintendo made a press conference to announce the new SSB. And then. The cinematic with Megaman. Jesus, it would have been one of the biggest applauses by the audience ever.
I'm gonna guess theres a Mii character that's gonna be added.
I'm gonna guess theres a Mii character that's gonna be added.
Penishead Miis on MP in 3... 2... 1...
Penishead Miis on MP in 3... 2... 1...
It's not like that's anything new. That's been happening back on the original Wii too. [editline]12th June 2013[/editline] Expect to see a bunch of Hitlers on online play too.

I'm rather entertained watching smashboards completely shit themselves over this game announcement. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I wonder if they are going to announce another character today. Or at least more features like new items, assist trophy characters ( if there are going to be assist trophys again) and stuff like that.
So, are we expecting there to be a Dojo update today? I remember having my dad's blackberry back in 2008 looking at the updates, so I'm really excited I'll be doing it again. I don't remember when the update is, though.
It seems Mario still has the FLUDD in this game. I swear to christ, if it doesn't do any damage, I'm gonna riot.
It seems Mario still has the FLUDD in this game. I swear to christ, if it doesn't do any damage, I'm gonna riot.
In the brief gameplay we saw, it doesn't actually hit the opponent so we have no idea. However, it visibly pushed Mario backwards when he used it, which leads me to believe that it's going to have a lot more push force.
