If it gives you a perspective on when to show up. I was first in line and I had shown up 4 and a half hours before the event started. Good luck to those who go on Saturday though, since people will be off work and the event will be hosted later in the day, prompting more people to be able to arrive for the event.
My advice is to show up very early and be sure to have some sort of timekiller. If you're relying on electronics, bring a charger. A lot of the tv showcases have power strips that are hidden under the metal plate at the bottom that you can access by pulling it out a bit.

New Jersey, Best Buy in the Garden State Plaza area. I never imagined there were so many Smash Bros lovers in my area. Its actually really cool.
But yeah, Saturday is going to be hell. If I go it will just be to watch.
On the bright side I got my copies for both WiiU and 3DS pre-ordered and I will be getting the Gold Smash Coin
I still can't believe pacman got in
and how fucking [B]awesome[/B] he looks, I caught wind of his inclusion at work, and I got annoyed, came home and loaded the trailer, expecting something really bad. Then I was slammed with Namco nostalgia.
So yeah, Pacman is pretty hype in my eyes. All we need now is a Wario confirmation and this game is an insta 10/10 for me.

I just want to see how more veterans look. I mean, I have no doubts that nearly everyone will return, but I still want to see the changes they make.
Man I can't wait to see Game & Watch in all his HD glory.
I always felt like Ness Final Smash was underpowered but maybe it was just me.

He actually looks like he has a revamped design in his cameo from Pac's trailer. Kind of looks more like the art used on the Game & Watch consoles/promo art rather then the actual graphics on the LCD screens imo.

They've replaced long standing veterans' moves before, like changing DK's dash attack. They changed some of the brawl veterans extensively like Pit, some not at all like Diddy, and some only partially like Olimar and Zero Suit Samus. Personally I'm really hoping they make big changes to Ness to make his special moves more effective, PK Fire is the only one that's of any real use.
I got to play both the Wii U and 3DS versions at my local best buy. I am so happy, but at the same time hype levels are at maximum capacity and I don't think I can handle the wait until October.

Holy shit! You might have seen us then, because we were a ways back from that Ness you got a picture of. You may have heard me shouting my Toad impression, exclaiming "AN UNDERWATER ADVENTURE? WOOOOOOOOOOOW."
So the only best buy in my state was like a hour away. No big deal. The big deal was the fucking absurd traffic for 2:30 on a Wednesday that made me 30 minutes late.
I waited in line for about 4 hours then was given a wristband to get first dibs this weekend. Not that bad honestly, I met these two cool dudes among the huge line of stereotypical turbo nerd guys who made waiting 20x more bearable. I went in after I got my band to watch a few matches and snagged myself a pin meant for those that got to play. If I'm gonna wait 4 hours I'm at least gonna get me some of that free stuff.
So a question to all of you that got to play it, how does Megaman play like? I want to start off playing as him then go for Little Mac the second match this Saturday.

Also, since Namco is involved with the game this time round, they're actually allowed to fully reference Donkey Konga, which is more of a Nintendo-Licensed Taiko no Tatsujin; a Rhythm Series made by Namco, maybe they're not working with development, but their cooperation means that there's less Continuity Banishment with some aspects. (sorta like Geno appearing in Superstar Saga...for a reference, and nothing else, SE didn't develop it though, strange request from Nintendo)
I wouldn't be surprised if they reference the Mario Kart Arcade games though, if only through Pac-Man.

He has a lot of good tools to do constant damage. His Metal Blade is super versatile with it being aimable and super long range; his tilt forward-A allows him to move forward and shoot, meaning you can very safely advance towards someone; his Up-A smash and Down-A smash hit super hard but need to vent afterwards; and forward-A smash hits REALLY hard for a medium/long range ability. Where he seems to fail most is directly in front of him due to being most proficient at medium/long range. Little Mac tears him up for that reason.

In Uprising, Palutena and the others openly reference Nintendo stuff all the time. The tutorials even reference Smash Bros.
