Quick question. It might sound silly but what do you guys think of custom moves (not custom parts) for tourneys? Characters with completely new moves could benefit from it while the others could have improved mobility or different strats. I dunno. It might be just put off and banned but I feel like it could spice up some of the matches... What do you guys think?
I'm sure it will be experimented with once we get the full list of fighters and what their custom moves are. I think it really depends on how quickly and easily it is to customize a fighter, don't wanna waste more time than you need for every match. And there will probably be some overpowered moves that will be banned from tourneys, probably something like TF2 where they have a whitelist of allowed weapons.
True. Tho, you can probably have sets assigned to a name for each characters. Maybe even being able to transfer names data in some way. But yeah. The only I hope is that only custom parts are unlocked via playing and we get the custom moves right of the bat.

i've been playing a lot of tomodachi life lately and i hope it's represented in the 3ds version somehow a stage similar to the wii u animal crossing one would be cool

I kind of hope that the weight of the hits in Melee is more present in 4. When I played Melee again a while ago the game felt nicer thanks to the heavier hits and less floaty movement. Dunno if that's a result of combos being removed in Brawl.

So I was re-watching the treehouse, and I found a couple interesting things I don't think anyone's mentioned. When you jump off the side, you now do a little tumble, and how edge-guarding has been changed and further explanation and more in depth look as to how Greninjas Shadow Sneak works.

these kids are our future.
these kids are our future.
I'm not sure what's more hilarious: the question or the name (or lack thereof).
these kids are our future.
We are so fucked...
[t]http://i.imgur.com/uzaO4Is.jpg[/t]
Pic of the day. Pac-Man's standard special move, Bonus Fruit. As you charge this move, the bonuses will change, and all of them have different characteristics and movement patterns when thrown. The bonuses cycle in the same order as in the original game, and the charge-up period doubles once you cycle beyond the orange.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/uzaO4Is.jpg[/t]
I'm not sure if i'm reading this right. Remembering the trailer, it's like a slot reel charge or something, right? So does that mean that once it goes through the 'reel' once via meeting the orange, it slows down to let you choose your object easier but leaves you vulnerable for standing there? I'm probably interpreting it wrong. :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/uzaO4Is.jpg[/t]
Will only be useful if you can keep your cycle progression in multiple times charging the move without taking the power up. If you can't, it'll be nearly impossible to get the later power ups.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/uzaO4Is.jpg[/t]
So is Bonus Fruit is a different move than this? Or does he just start throwing these when he gets further in the cycle? It'd be a waste if Pac-Man had two cycling moves.
This'll be pretty strong in 1v1s though. Just get a KO then sit there for a full cycle.
Like DK's punch or Snake's dartgun? I think its not gonna be that kind of a big deal.
Maybe what we see is one of the final frames when you stop cycling through. The dotted lines are bigger on the image, making it look like it has been selected, while selecting only shows one dot per line.
these kids are our future.
That post actually reminds me of back in ~2004 where I went with my parents to get Metroid: Zero Mission. When we went to go get it it hadn't come out yet (still a few weeks away). I got sad and then the guy there showed me Metroid Fusion, so I got that instead.
I think it's a rando crando move like Peach's turnips in Melee He boops up a random sprite and throws it, it deals damage depending on what sprite it was
I think it's a rando crando move like Peach's turnips in Melee He boops up a random sprite and throws it, it deals damage depending on what sprite it was
But Sakurai explained that it cycles through a list of items in the same order everytime So it's like you start cycling through and stop on whatever item you need for your situation I think
I think it's a rando crando move like Peach's turnips in Melee He boops up a random sprite and throws it, it deals damage depending on what sprite it was
No it very clearly states the items appear in the order as they do in the game. Not random. And you hold the button to cycle through them. [editline]19th June 2014[/editline]
So is Bonus Fruit is a different move than this? Looking forward to those 4.

Found a picture of Genesect in action, sorry if its been posted already. He uses techno blast and hits 3 small energy blasts, one huge laser, then repeats once more then ends.
This'll be pretty strong in 1v1s though. Just get a KO then sit there for a full cycle.
Pretty sure you won't be able to get a full cycle in 1 KO.
Pic of the day. Here's Donkey Kong's third standard special attack, Storm Punch!! Thanks to the customization options, each fighter is stocked with 12 different special moves. The number of attacks is pretty appalling.

We've made it so that customization options, including special attacks, will be disabled when you're playing online in With Anyone mode. After all, we have to think about game balance, and it's crucial for anonymous players to be able to use reliable tactics against one another. When you're playing in single player, battling with friends online, or playing locally, you're free to play however you want--with or without customization.
Goddamn, DK turned Sheik's spine into jelly.
