I've still got my original gamecube controller that I used for pretty much everything. The rubber pad is missing, but other than that it still works like it used to. [editline]aaa[/editline] Also holy shit why are wavebirds so expensive now?
Going by hearsay, the new GC controller isn't just a rehash; it's apparently got a better Z button, more responsive D-pad, and other minor tweaks to things like trigger resistance. It also seems to use slightly firmer and higher quality rubber on the stick tops, so they won't start to crumble at the edges after a couple years.
Oh man where'd you hear this though? If that's true that's some seriously hype news
i'd be really bad if they didn't improved the components.
Oh man where'd you hear this though? If that's true that's some seriously hype news
I believe it came from one of the participants of the Smash tourney, who in a later gameplay/AMA stream made mention of the controllers feeling much higher quality, and how going back "felt weird" I'll try to find it.
Imagine Sakurai gets wind of the Falco "leak" and posts Falco tomorrow to mess with everyone. Except it'd be like one of his boots and he wouldn't be the focus of the picture.
Imagine Sakurai gets wind of the Falco "leak" and posts Falco tomorrow to mess with everyone. Except it'd be like one of his boots and he wouldn't be the focus of the picture.
He´d be a statue on a Star Fox stage.
He´d be a statue on a Star Fox stage.
"When Falco joins the fight, Arwing takes the place of the statue! 'Leave it to me!' Arwing would say, except he can't talk."
He'd be a statue on a Star Fox stage.
And when Falco joins the battle, in the background you'll see [sp]a bunch of fans beating a dead horse making jokes about Alfonzo![/sp] Edit: I was just too slow...
I really want Sakurai to reveal a new character (like a BIG one, like Snake) through a blurry cell phone picture of a monitor.
Pic of the day. Here's a new mode - Leak Mode! The camera shakes as the fighters battle, and the screen gets increasingly blurry as the battle heats up. This is a screenshot of the mode at its blurriest. There's a new character somewhere in this screenshot, but you probably can't tell who it is!

It's obviously Goku.
It's not Goku, it's Ridley! You can just tell!
You know, I'm starting to think that we have too many sword users in the game. We need an original knight. One that stands out from the rest. One that uses a [sp]Shovel Blade[/sp]!
Falco leak?
There was a "leak" on GameFAQs a few days ago that said Falco would be revealed this week. The "leak" also claims that Lucas is cut and King K. Rool is a boss on a Gangplank Galleon stage. If Falco does get revealed, then this would lend further credence to the Gematsu leak, as Sal Romano posted something on Smashboards about his source saying Lucas was cut. (I still don't know if that was really Sal or some impostor, though.)
Furthermore if the leak is true it means the only cuts are Lucas and wolf. Meaning we'll end up with a huge roster.
can someone post it?
If Falco gets cut, I'd say the Wombo Combo guys predicted the outcome. [sp]dat aint falco ;~;[/sp]
No Falco [t]http://i.imgur.com/QoHRFjN.jpg[/t]
Pic of the day. Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. The smaller ones become speed fighters and the bigger ones are more akin to power fighters.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/LG8AwWO.png[/t]
Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. Sweet Jesus. Pretty sure some variation of the Mii will end up being broken simply due to the amount of combinations.
No wonder they're locked in randoms. That's a LOT to memorize and counterplay. [editline]t[/editline] If the Brawler Claws in Uprising are anything to go by, the small brawler Mii will be incredibly broken. A little gnat buzzing around that can hit like a truck for some reason.

What I mean is that when Sakurai makes a competitive multiplayer game, and adds something with very high movement speed and low weight (Brawler Claws, Meta Knight, [Melee] Fox), it's very rarely balanced well for some reason (disproportionately high damage, generally), and as a result it either establishes the meta or winds up banned. It can't just be coincidence. Maybe I'm just nuts, who knows.

It can't just be coincidence. Maybe I'm just nuts, who knows.
The things that make Meta Knight OP are not his weight and speed, he's good because his moves are very fast and he's basically the only character that can combo, while also being very hard to punish, and Fox is good in melee mainly because of his falling speed, not his movement speed or weight. It doesn't seem like the Mii fighters will attack slower or faster based on their weight, it'll probably only effect movement speed, falling speed, weight and jump height.
And I'd argue something with the same power that can run around 50% faster (my best guess) will be good at exactly what the Brawler Claws are in Uprising; chipping away at foes who can't catch you and eventually swooping in for a child's-play easy finishing blow. That doesn't seem like it'd be fun to fight at all in a game like Smash. Unless you're on a tiny stage or you're using a projectile character, you'll be spending half the match just trying to mirror the chip they're landing on you. [editline]t[/editline] There's always the chance I'm reading too far into this, but seriously. God damn I will be angry if I'm right. I know people who would totally be that guy if the game gave them that option, just to annoy everyone else.
Pic of the day. Some of the physical characteristics of Miis get carried over when you use them as Mii Fighters. The smaller ones become speed fighters and the bigger ones are more akin to power fighters.
Yessssssss I was really hoping they were gonna do this.
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Furthermore if the leak is true it means the only cuts are Lucas and wolf. Meaning we'll end up with a huge roster.
If Wolf gets cut and the chorus men get in I'll personally cut Sakurai
In all seriousness I'll probably give the large brawler a try. I've always found heavy hand-to-hand characters very satisfying to play in other fighting games, and reduction in mobility wouldn't matter too much to me in a tradeoff.
