whoosh
Hey guys.
Remember when they announced Sonic would be in Brawl?
Remember how the internet exploded that day?
Yeah. Good times. I've been wondering what they could do to surpass the hype that was that.
Compared to Solid Snake in the E3 trailer?
Compared to Solid Snake in the E3 trailer?
Surely Sonic had more hype behind it simply due people wanting Sonic and Mario to battle it out for ages. Snake was a surprise, but he wasn't specifically wanted as much as Sonic was.
I remember waking up for school every weekday and checking the Dojo website. And the day Sonic was revealed I nearly shat myself.
and sonic turned out to be a pretty uninteresting character

i guess they didn't have much to work with.
His speed is incredible though. Pretty much guarantee any smash ball.

I never really liked sonic, he seemed pretty meh.

With a Bunny Hood, he could outrun the Big Blue stage.
If only they hadn't removed moonwalking from Melee to Brawl. With a Bunny Hood, Sonic most likely would have been able to run from one side of Final Destination to the other and then back again without even turning around. :v:
Sonic would had been awesome with the Melee physics. Remember, Captain Falcon was barely changed, it was the world changing what made him suck.
Man I remember playing this on the n64 way back then.
Love Kirby and Lucario, sucking people and jumping out to death was the best thing ever with that pink ball.

Lucario 4 lyfe.
In regards to the viability of Ridley being a character, I think it would be pretty easy to balance him out. In fact, I thought that the perfect (or near perfect) moveset for him would have been the one that Charizard uses. It had the moves, the appropriate weight, and the ability to fly as well. All you have to do is slap the Ridley model on top of it and bam, he was balanced and in the game.
maybe just a starman would be cool, most people familiar with earthbound would recognize them right?
I don't think the mother series needs a villain, it's never been a series that's had a focus on villains, all of them have a key antagonist, but the cause of the incidents in the game is a lot of people all being controlled by the key villains. They're Giygas and Porky really, and Giygas never leaves his bubble while Porky never leaves his mech. The Masked Man would basically just be Lucas.
The right path for more mother characters: Jeff. I'd accept that, he's a perfect fit. Then if there's time, maybe Duster, or Flint with Teddy as an alternate skin (Speaking of which, they could just make Lucas an alternate skin for Ness, add Poo as another skin for Ness, and Put Paula/Ana/Kumatora under current Lucas. Maybe fit Ninten in there somewhere as well, with Loid as a Jeff skin. That way you've got every party member from the series except Boney, but he's kind of hard to fit in anywhere.

Make him another version of Kumatora

man duster is such a pervert
doesn't surprise me since he's raised by an old man into the thief he is
Seriously though Duster could be an interesting character to play as. He's got the tools, the... uhh
The Masked Man would basically just be Lucas.
Sorry but I think you got Lucas and [sp]Klaus[/sp] mixed there, Masked Man doesn't really have Lucas' attacks
The Masked Man would basically just be Lucas.
except not though
he has a lightning sword, a jetpack, cyborg wings, an arm cannon, and parachute pants
he'd be closer to meta knight than lucas, probably a diddy-esqe up-b, lightning projectiles and cannon blasts plus enough latent psi powers to make him kind of magitek-ish
the easiest thing to do imo would be to have ness, lucas and masked man, with ninten as a ness alternate costume and claus as a lucas alternate costume. switch up ness and lucas' movesets more, luigify him and give them rockin and love as final smashes instead of starstorm (or keep starstorm on lucas and give love to masked man)
they were on the right track with brawl in that ness had more physical attacks and lucas has more psi attacks they just need to change them up more and diversify them
Been playing Super Smash Flash 2 with one of my mates a shitton these last few weeks.
This game is a blast, the physics are a little rough around the edges, some of the stages are supremely laggy and the animations aren't as fluid as they could have been, but the new characters they have added are just so much damn fun to play as.
Especially Black Mage, he has the most diverse and interesting moveset I have ever seen.

Super Smash Bros. Melee: Turn-Based Strategy Edition. :v:
Played brawl again today, for the first time in forever. I played as Luigi (as always) and kicked my brother's assess. They played Mario vs. Pit vs. Luigi, Luigi vs. R.O.B vs. Wolf, Luigi vs. Kirby vs. Donkey Kong, and Luigi vs. Samus vs. Ness.
I, as Luigi, won every match. I haven't missed a beat :D.

Playing as Luigi just doesn't feel right when you can't wavedash all over the place at 500 miles per hour.

Rockin and Love are the same thing
They're named based on what your favourite thing is, in Ness's case it's Rockin and in Lucas's it's Love
Anyway PK Ground would be a good final smash. The graphic for it in the game kind of implies something hitting the ground really hard and creating a shockwave, and that'd be cool to have in the game
Yeah, the Masked Man could be interesting, but Jeff and Duster much moreso, and there's no way known a series like Mother could get 5 characters.
This video still gives me chills. It's a shame we probably won't be seeing anything like this at E3 this year.

It just occurred to me that I was in grade school when I played this game and I'm now graduating college. I shed a single tear for nostalgia.

The joke is that Bowser is supposedly so slow that Bowser dittos are like a turn-based strategy game.
Eh I must not play Super Smash Brothers enough because that looked like an average SSB match to me.
Bowser isn't actually all that slow when you get good as him. :v:
