[t]https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/zlCfzSG6-ksscCQ9bv[/t]
Pic of the day. Here's a Poppant, an enemy that appeared in the previous game in this series. Poppants will appear in Smash Run, scampering around as they drop a variety of items.
[t]https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/zlCfzSG6-3cirgLT6v[/t]
There are other bonus characters that appear in this game, too. Here's an Iridescent Glint Beetle from the Pikmin series. Keep hitting it!! Keep hitting it for gold!!
Yaaaay, Poppants. Loved those things.
Keep hitting it!! Keep hitting it for gold!!
HIT IT! HIT IT HARDER! HARDER! MORE! MORE! MOOOOORE!
ugh this weeks snapshots is off to a shitty start more shit we already know i always hated the designs of those things
kids, if someone asks you to reach into their pants for candy, then you should probably accept their offer because it's not every day you get pants candy
ugh this weeks snapshots is off to a shitty start more shit we already know i always hated the designs of those things
The only bad thing about them is their pants. If the body kept the same shape going down, slim, then it'd look alright.
Yaaaay, Poppants. Loved those things.
I hated them. I could never get any of their items because their shit always hit me before I could catch them.
[t]https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/zlCfzSG6-ksscCQ9bv[/t] [t]https://d3esbfg30x759i.cloudfront.net/ss/zlCfzSG6-3cirgLT6v[/t]
So depending how they work, they're essentially Metal Slimes? enemies that are either highly defensive or insanely fast, may drop things not that related to smash run in general, but maybe drops rare items, coins and trophies? they could probably go the whole mile and have enemies that are essentially Bosses. Poes, Soot Dumplings, Gold Beanies and Abra are of the Kill-Before-it-Vanishes for Gold variety. Audino, those coin creatures from Mario 64, and Golden Waddle Dees are of the fast/defensive, but for physical goods variety. Amazee Dayzees are superboss mook enemies, who presumably drops large amounts of stats (maybe even specific rare trophies?), but has stuns.
I really hope the Wii U gets Smash Run as dlc or something
I really hope the Wii U gets Smash Run as dlc or something
If the Wii U gets it, it won't be for at least 4-6 months after the 3DS release, I can't imagine Nintendo wanting to cannibalize sales for their own game.
I really hope the Wii U gets Smash Run as dlc or something
No, it's already been said that this mode is exclusively on 3DS.
Smash U will probably have something analogous to Smash Run, I just don't know what they could put in that isn't a story mode or smash run while still having the same sort of content.
Maybe the Wii U version will be some kind of coop mode, probably better suited for living room fun?
HIT IT! HIT IT HARDER! HARDER! MORE! MORE! MOOOOORE!
Marin from Link's Awakening confirmed.
I'm thinking that the Wii U version will get a set of "adventure" mode levels, with one for each individual character. I'm hoping that each character will get levels that require extensive knowledge of the character's movement mechanics, similar to Melee's "break the target" stages.
I think the WiiU version will have a much more in-depth All-Star mode (perhaps with local/online co-op) to compensate.
One of the main things I'm looking for in the Wii U version is more online co-op. Playing Multi-Man Brawl and Homerun Contest with a buddy online was awesome, now I want to see more. Classic mode co-op? All-Star co-op? Adventure mode co-op? Literally endless amounts of fun.
If I had to guess, the Wii U version will probably get something akin to Melee's Adventure mode. I'd like to see something between that and Subspace Emissary, perhaps an Adventure mode with full length "stages" instead of short challenges/fights. It was cool that nearly every franchise in Melee got some sort of representation that was akin to their source games; Mario got a platformer stage, Zelda got a dungeon, etc.

They've already got a lot of the enemy assets, AI and code, they'd just have to upsize and re-detail / re-model them to get it working for an Adventure mode on the Wii U.
From the World Hobby Fair: And incase you missed it in the trailer (1:06), here is a picture taken from it: Looks like a Steel Diver stage.
Haha, just realized Smash comes out in Japan on my birthday. That's kinda cool I guess, even if I don't get to play it :v:. I also remember Pokemon Platinum or something coming out on my birthday in Japan I think.
Pretty sure that's a trophy, why would they show a stage without direct gameplay?
Looks like a stage with the fact that its underwater.
Looks like a stage with the fact that its underwater.
It's a closeup of some static, rotating objects with the same trophy background: https://www.google.com/search?q=ssb+wii+u+trophy&espv=2&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=LO2xU_ypCYrS8AHI74CAAw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1746&bih=925
Looks like a stage with the fact that its underwater.
It's a trophy. The subs and mines aren't moving whatsoever on their own, the flat group beneath ending abruptly like a flat space for a large trophy, and the background matching up with that of already-shown trophies. Wait, 13th October? I thought it was the 3rd!
Wait, 13th October? I thought it was the 3rd!
It is the 3rd. September 13th in Japan.
It is the 3rd. September 13th in Japan.
Oh, added a month in my pessimism... That's good.
