A lot of characters can now be played in Smash Bros in the form of a Mii. Anyone from Dr Eggman and Skeletor to Waluigi and Midna. But I have yet to see a single Mii which can properly capture Ridley's likeness.

Surprise me, Sakurai.[/QUOTE] I fully expect Shulk though I don't think the retweet means that much Punch-Out Devs were retweeting the directs/etc nonstop till Mac was revealed- then on the Smash Direct the Xenoblade devs retweeted it as did Kamiya. I think they know their characters are getting in, but they're unsure as to when they'll be officially revealed so they just retweet whatever till they're confirmed.

I like the character but potentially the best thing that's going to come out of this is Xenoblade music he's going to bring with him. Plus the stage is bound to look amazing, lots of nice places from Xenoblade to choose from like Gaur plains, Satorl marsh, etc. Though I wonder if it could actually be surprising in that it may possibly be "Xenoblade X Spiritual Successor Shulk" that was in the first trailer for that game.

Although I wouldn't mind Chrom being in if he gets a unique (at least not a clone) moveset, I also wouldn't mind him being an alternate costume for Marth, with new voiceclips and all

Shulk is the silliest name for a character, its strange to read and say it. Makes me think of She-Hulk.

My problem with the roster this time around is that it's hardly Nintendo All-Stars. Like I understand we're running out of classic characters but c'mon. Last game we got Meta Knight, Dedede, Diddy Kong, Squirtle, Ivysuar, Charizard, Sonic (SEGA All star but whatever), Wario... This game we're looking at Miis, Little Mac, Villager, Megaman, and Pac-Man, and Pac-Man is hardly known for his connection to Nintendo. It kind of pales in comparison if you ask me. Especially if the only unannounced characters are Gematsu ones. I dunno, I just can't get over some of it. Like... [I]who the fuck is Shulk.[/I]

I fail to see how Villager, Little Mac, Megaman, and Pacman pales in comparison. Those are all great additions. Even Miis are extremely relevant to Nintendo nowwadays, so they get a thumbs up from... mii. All these chums 'ere may not be as recognizable as Sonic and Pokemon, but wowzers, all those characters are pretty dang great, y'know?? Although I do agree with your bit on Shulk, I haven't even heard of the game until that streetpass puzzle came out.

In turn it's probably going to raise interest in the Xenoblade series.

Remember that Smash isn't catered towards the West- a lot of characters are added because of their interest with Japan. I don't know who Shulk is, but he and Xenoblades are rather well known over there. Either way, his addition will raise popularity in both, so I don't see a downside.
