The fact is, he just hasn't been wrong yet, every prediction except Wii Fit Trainer wasn't really a hard pick, and "a Pokemon from X and Y" isn't really strong proof. I was expecting a current-gen Pokemon too and I've only ever played Pokemon Red. I'm sure there have been a thousand predictions disguised as leaks, and it could be that this one just happens to have not been wrong yet. Maybe they'll show Shulk tomorrow and I'll be wrong. But we don't know yet.

what smash bros characters aren't totally predictable though it's easy when you have hindsight to say "they were obvious shoe ins" even if people doubted them up until they were revealed if choir kids are revealed you can bet people will say how obvious it was they were going to be in, same with shulk etc

Possibly the least obvious smash addition possible.

rythm heaven is quite a major ip from nintendo, i'd admit that. its quite generous when it comes to characters and some of them are memorable to an extent. I'm not sure why everyone was so shocked by Palutena. With a recent Kid Icarus game from the developer of Smash Bros, it seemed only natural that we would get someone from the franchise.

At this point, I ain't ruling out anyone, except non-Nintendo ones. Could be Ridley, Chorus Kids, Shulk or even fucking Toads! I'll keep my mind as open as possible to avoid too much disappointment. Whoever gets in that has something refreshing to show is fine in my books.

I really don't care who gets announced, i'm just hyped for new characters. Even though i'm not much of a xenoblade aficionado Shulk would be rad, as well as Chrom or any other.

Weren't there rumors that Ice Climbers were cut because they were too much for the 3ds to handle? If that's true, Chorus Kids would be even more impossible since there's three of them. Hm.

One thing to look forwards to Marshal/Chorus men, would be that since Smash is going to be released around the world, logically they'll have to decide how to handle the music/vocals for the RH/RT/RP series, could be like how there's english and japanese songs for Mona's/Mike's/Ashley's themes in brawl, or to the extent that they even have music from JP games like the first and 3rd Mother. feel like i want a character that Gematsu hasn't mentioned, like i'm not that enthusiastic for Shulk, but thats just because i never played his game rather than his potential playstyle. i'm slightly more receptive towards the Chorus Men (they did somehow made Pac-Man amazing, and i was originally a non-believer), if it's a villain other than someone traditionally expected/suggested like Captain Syrup, Ridley or K Rool, i'd be really surprised. guess it depends on how they flow in terms of gameplay and their intro.
